    Introduction

    SKU-000569577.pdf

THINKING BACK TO my childhood days, I thought I could be anything and everything I wanted to be. I could be a wife, mother, doctor, famous singer, teacher, and preacher and that was in my really young days. By the time I got to the fifth grade I dreamed of being an airline stewardess (now known as flight attendant), pianist, and fashion designer, and I was still singing, teaching and preaching. The teenage years and junior high school rolls around and the possibilities became endless in my dreams. Now I’d heard about the famous Mayo Angelou, and you guessed it, not only was I a famous writer but when I read, I read in the voice of Maya Angelou. I was a dancer, a day care owner, and yes, I was still singing, teaching and preaching.

My world began to change when I got into the later years of high school and reality began to set in and imagination began to fade away. My mom thought it had something to do with boys and that’s when I realized parents really don’t know everything. Or do they? By now my singing career had really taken off in the church choir. I began my real teaching career in the high school tutoring program, tutoring third graders at a local elementary school. I was made some of my own clothes so that I could have extra clothes and unique outfits that were different from the other girls. College life took me to another level. I worked at a day care teaching the after school program so that I could eat and have gas money. I was sewed my own clothes so that I could have something to wear and I sang in the choir at church because I loved the Lord.

God’s handy work was in full force my entire life, but I didn’t see Him clearly until I had to face life. Through all of my imaginary careers, God was preparing me for the challenges and jobs of my future. He already had the plan, For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11. When I memorized that scripture as a child in BTU (Baptist Training Union), I had no idea how it would change my life and that it would set the course for my life. Because of that scripture I believed all things were possible because God had a plan for my life and I was going to have a good life.

There are days when I see the good and enjoy the good, but there are days when I can only cling to this scripture and hold onto the promise God proclaims in His word. Through my pain, suffering and hardship I meditate on Jeremiah 29:11 and pray expecting God to show up and do great things in Even Me. I can do it because God said I can. I don’t let the stronghold of doubt keep me from seeing what God can do in my life.

    Part One

The Lord is my Firm Foundation

    SKU-000569577.pdf

    Overview

Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: The Lord knows those who are his, and, Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness. 2 Timothy 2:19.

THE FOUNDATION OF God stands firm. It is solid and immovable; it is the substance of things hoped for.
