About this ebook

This book has come through a great deal of pain and suffering. I had previously moved my membership from another congregation years earlier, and I became angry with the Lord. For one year, I did not attend any formal worship service; I began working with a outreach program, teaching and preaching at nursing homes here in Montgomery, Alabama, and during that time, I realized that I had more to offer God, and I slowly began to reconsider returning to a formal worship service.

I had to stand and then confess my sins of not doing what I knew God wanted me to be doing, so a close brother of mine told me of a congregation that needed a Sunday school teacher. So I told my brother, Okay, lets make this happen. And that is when I became a member of the Northpointe Church of Christ.

Brother Julius Tate

Julius Tate had a spiritual experience in his early teens that led to his calling to become a writer. After healing from a fall from the family’s second-story window, he revealed to his mother the voice of God telling him one day he'd become a writer. Julius answered the call.

    Introduction

This book has been inspired by the Holy Spirit, through the Holy & Most Divine Will of God the Father, which rests and rules in heaven above. This book is a combination of Sunday School Lessons that I have taken and then Spiritually extended the topic, into an Adult Bible Study Commentary.

This book has been in the making for a very long time, during many emotional changes and fighting the Will of God, I have finally come to the decision that this book is and can become possible. Because I know that the Will of God is totally and completely being fulfilled, as I reveal the instructions that He has shared and given to me. I know that there will be many Naysayers, who will cast their slanted opinions by saying, Brother Tate, I just don’t believe a word that you are saying! My response is this, I have heard that no one can punch a hole in the Word of God, and this is what I believe, regardless who says what. About me, or about the lessons that I have written.

As a young child, the Word of God would come to me on a regular basis, speaking to me in the deepest parts of my mind, instructing me to, Write! But with the fear that has been instilled in me, from a very young age, I just refused to get up out of my bed, and go down stairs and face the darkness. My fear to this day is still a real and damaging form of preventing me from doing my very best, when it comes to serving the Lord God of heaven.

I would be asleep in my bed, and the Word of the Lord would come to me, in the still of the night, in my head, as I lay upon my bed. And the very last time I can remember hearing the voice of the Holy Spirit, telling me and calling me by my name, saying, Julius, get up and write! After a very long season of rebuking the Power of heaven, for some strange reason, I found the courage to rise up out of my bed, get dressed and walk down stairs, where I knew I would face darkness and uncertainty.

So I gathered my thoughts together, and took a seat next to the chair where my mother would always sit, as we would watch television, and there on the sofa, I picked up a pencil and a piece of paper. I began to write poems, and before I could get my own thoughts together, the Power of God would over shadow me, filling me with the Power of Heaven, and the most Amazing poems would flow through me. I can only describe to you, how the Power of God flowed through me like a low voltage of electricity, moving down from the crown of my head to my arms. And out of my hands and fingers would come, the ability to write amazing poems, as soon as I would complete one, another one would be coming through me.

As I sat there puzzled by what was happening to me, I knew that God had touched me and what was happening was the result of the Holy Spirit, trying to get me to follow His instructions, and write! I began to shed tears, as I did not understand why this was happening to me, so I just continued to write. Then I began to get scared, and I finally pushed aside all of the poems that were produced by the Holy Spirit, and I ran back upstairs to my room and hid my head under the covers.

This is the very first time that I have shared this experienced with the public, and mostly because I could not tap into the Spiritual experience, or have the living proof that I needed. In order for me to share this with anyone, so I did not become ready to openly say anything to anyone about how the Power of God has been speaking to me for as long as I can remember. Now that I know Who and What this voice was, that was speaking to me, I can now say that I have heard this voice for as long as I can remember.

As I glance back upon my life, I can Spiritual understand how, that the Power of God has been guiding me, and giving me the Spiritual inspiration that I needed, to overcome the obstacles that I have been faced with. In my life, no matter what I tried to do, I had the Supernatural ability to perform the basic functions that I applied myself to. Even though there were many courses in school where I failed, there were many sporting activities that I failed miserably at, but when I found something that I truly loved to do. I felt the Power of God assisting me and then I could be good at what I was trying to do.

As a young child, my two older brothers would drag huddles from the local high school to practice their Track& Field events. They would get hurdles, shot puts, discus and gather in the backyard of our house, and my younger brother and I would stand by the dining room window. Where we would pump water, from our in-ground well, we would stand there and watch them practice running hurdles, throwing the shot put and the discus. As I stood there watching them year after year, I would always say to myself, I can do that! And they would bring these items home every summer and practice, my younger brother and I would stand there and watch them without fail!

Then when I became old enough to run Track, I was so accustomed to watching them run the hurdles, I automatically understood how to step hurdles. So when it came time for me to run the hurdles, I felt like I knew exactly what was needed to be good at running hurdles. I felt comfortable running hurdles, because I had seen my older brothers do it for so long, I had convinced myself that this was something that I wanted to do. Fear once again stood in my way, and restrained me from really being the best that I could have been, but I still remember seeing my older brothers practicing in the backyard, this was a great deal of inspiration for me to this day!

I can remember being in High School, and suffering through some very dark days and seeking some type of relief, I began to carry my Bible to school with me, and I began reading it. And I can remember feeling a great deal of Spiritual comfort come over me, and not just a feeling of great relief, but just enough to let me know that giving God, some of my time began to pay off in a very significant way, I found peace. You know during this time, we began a Bible Study, with my older brothers, sisters and then some of our closest friends. We would get together and study the Word of God, we also formed a singing group, called the, Shining Lights.

This was my very first encounter, of taking time out, to study and try to live a life for God. We made many friends and life changed for the better.

    Preface

The soul basis for this Bible Commentary began during the previous year of 1990, and in that one year I had been going through a series of events, that really was tearing my Spiritual life down. Right to the ground, but I was trying to satisfy my flesh, through the companionship of women. In the midst of all this confusion, I became bitter with myself, angry that I could not satisfy that deep down longing for a woman to be close to me. But to my amazement, I failed to realize that, I had the opportunity to marry on several occasions, and they all failed to give me the needed support that I really wanted. So I ended those marriages in divorce, because I became very frustrated, and I just wanted to be by myself, and this is how I have been living ever since.

This commentary, has given me a very different view of myself, that I really did not want to face, but I had to first of all, face myself and the shortcomings, that I was causing in my own life. So, as I began to write this book, the Power of the Holy Spirit gave me an opportunity to examine myself from a very close view point. I did not like what I saw, at that time I did not even like whom I had become, but I know that God had given me a chance to make some corrections to my life. So I decided to make an effort to put my physical desires to the side, and concentrate upon what I knew was, Holy and Righteous in God’s Eyesight.

Right now in my life, I am at that plateau where I have the Spiritual ability to rise above my desires of the flesh, and now I can pursue a higher calling for the Lord God, of heaven. I thank God, for this renewed opportunity to tell my side, of how I understand and apply the Word of God.

As I removed myself from the Body of Christ for one full year, in my anger with the Truth of God, I began to see the awful Spiritual damage that I was causing to myself. So as I began to reestablish myself with the Body of Christ, then I placed my membership with the:

    Northpointe Church of Christ

I decided deep in my heart, that I was going to take all of that negative energy that was stirring in my soul, and redirect that same energy into serving God, full force. And for all those who know me, and how I teach the Adult Bible Study Classes, at Northpointe, you know that I spend a great deal of time, digging deep into the Word of God.

My intentions are solely based upon the Word of God, and nothing will deter me from using the Word of God to explain my understanding of His Word. As you may be reading and trying to understand my reasons for going so deep into the Word of God, my response is simple. I know that Death awaits us all, I know that the works that we do for Jesus, will determine if we are allowed to live with Him, for an Eternity, or not. So I put my all in all into my teaching ability when it comes to speaking about the Word of God.

    Chapter One

    From A Rib, Came Eve

In our very first chapter, From a Rib, Came Eve focuses upon the life and creation of the Mother of All Living, and in this lesson we shall journey from her creation from a rib, to the Church of Christ. That is known as, The Bride of Christ, and our lesson begins in the Book of:

Genesis 2:1 Thus were the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.

:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

:4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day the Lord God made the earth and the heavens.

:5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the Lord God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.

:6 But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.

:7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

:8 And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.

:9 And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

After the creation of the earth and the heavens were completed, the Lord God sanctified the seventh day, because He had rested from all of His work on that day. Now that the earth is complete and the trees and every plant of the field are in place, the Lord God forms man from the dust of the ground. And breathes the Breath of Life into his nostrils, and man becomes a living soul, the stage of life is almost complete.

Genesis 2:15 And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.

The very first responsibility of man, places him in the Garden of Eden, where he is given the responsibility to dress and to keep the Garden of God.

When we take a closer look at the meaning of these two words, the life of Adam becomes clear to us:

This word dress in the (Hebrew) refers to: (5647/Pg 101)

a.) Serve, enslave, keep in bondage b.) Bondmen, bondservant c.) Worshipper

I had no idea that the sole responsibility of Adam was to be enslaved as a worshipper of the Garden of God; I did not know that his responsibility was so serious to the Lord God. Also this word refers to keep in bondage, to be a bondservant of the Lord God, in His Garden. Adam was given a very serious charge to dress the Garden of God. When I define this word, I can understand that he was to be a lifetime servant of the Lord God, in the Garden of Eden. But that is not the full extent of his responsibilities in the Garden:

This word keep in the (Hebrew) refers to: (8104/Pg 145)

a.) Hedge about, keep in b.) Protect, guard, preserve, watchman

Wow, Adam had a serious charge that was given unto him, by the Lord God, he was given the responsibility to be a lifetime servant, a bondservant for the Lord, and also his job was to keep the Garden. Which means that he was to hedge about the Garden or he was suppose to protect it, guard it, preserve the Garden by being a watchman for it. Then the Lord God gives him some simple instructions to follow:

Genesis 2:16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:

:17 But of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it, for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

So now we know exactly what is expected of Adam, his job is to dress and keep the Garden of God, from our word definitions we can understand that he was given a serious charge, a lifelong commitment to the Lord. And now the Lord God commands that he may eat freely of the trees of the Garden, but of the tree that is in the midst of the Garden, he is commanded that he should not eat of it. And if he chooses to eat of it, he will surely die, now that sounds simple enough, his job responsibilities have been given to him, and the boundaries of the trees is made clear also.

Genesis 2:18 And the Lord God said, It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

    :21 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;

As the Lord God takes inventory and notices that Adam is all alone in the Garden, to dress it and to keep it, He sees a need to provide a help meet for him. So He causes a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and takes one of his ribs, and closes up the flesh instead thereof.

Genesis 2:22 And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.

This word made in the (Hebrew) refers to: (1129/Pg 20)

a.) Build, obtain children b.) Set up, begin to build

In this simple word definition, the far reaching purpose of Eve can be seen in this definition, it lets us know that she was made from the beginning to bear children. Her purpose had been determined by the Lord God of heaven, for He knew that Adam needed a help meet, a wife to assist him in his daily activities. The Lord satisfied the present needs of him, and also He had the Supernatural ability to look into the future to see a need, to be able to bring an offspring for the man. The ability to create a continuous physical part of man, that could reproduce man’s seed, in the miraculous ability to form man from the dust of the ground, to being able to make the woman from a rib. Taken from the side of Adam, her husband, this simple idea that the Lord God is bringing to the surface of our mind, will make more sense when Christ is crucified upon the cross.

Genesis 2:23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

And we know that Adam possessed the Supernatural ability to be able to look upon every beast of the field that the Lord God had made, and then be able to give each creature a proper name. A name that was very suitable based upon the purpose that the Lord God had created them for.

Genesis 2:19 And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature that was the name thereof.

This is very beautiful to be able to read about the Supernatural Power that Adam had in the presence of the Lord God, He knew that Adam could see in the Spirit, that purpose that the Lord God had created these beasts for. And then Adam was able to name them according to that same purpose, Adam not only was formed in the image of heaven, but he had Supernatural Powers as he was in the presence of the Lord.

Genesis 2:23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

Even though the Lord God had caused a deep sleep to fall upon him, he still knew and understood that his wife was taken from within him, while he was asleep, but he was still aware of what was going on. As Adam continues to speak of marriage, we can read about the closeness of an institution that God blessed, and Adam was able to be a living example of God’s Goodness.

Genesis 2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

In the Supernatural Power of heaven, Adam speaks of the unified, the perfect joining of two human beings out of one body, this being the body of Adam. The very first man that was formed on the face of the earth, in the flesh. As Adam is formed of the dust of the ground, and Eve is made from a rib that was taken out of the side of him, they were one flesh right from the beginning. I say this, because she was actually taken right out of the body of him. Adam begins to speak of the future, how a man is raised by his mother and his father, and then when time presents itself, the man leaves his father and mother. And he finds a wife, and then he cleaves unto her:

This word cleave in the (Hebrew) refers to: (1692/Pg 30)

a.) Be joined together, keep fast b.) Stick close to

As Adam explains the physical relationship of the union of the man and woman, how they are one flesh, with our word definition of cleave, we can get a clearer understanding of one flesh. As Adam and Eve were perfectly joined together, from the same body, being of the same flesh and bones, he explains this union just a bit more. By telling us how the man and woman have the ability to cleave to one another, they are joined together fast, they can stick close to one another. For the Lord God has created a perfect help meet for the man:

Genesis 2:18 And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

This word help meet in the (Hebrew) refers to: (5828/Pg 104)

    a.) Surround, protect, aid

The Lord God understands that it is not good that Adam should be alone, and He makes him a woman, out of a rib from his side. The Lord God makes him a help meet, a wife that will surround him, a wife to protect him and to aid him. The Lord God has the ability to look inside of the man and then bring forth, a rib that will become the wife of him, she shall surround him and keep Adam.

Genesis 2:25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

Adam & his wife, Eve were now complete, the man had his help meet, she was a form of protection for him, and she gave him the completion that he needed as a man, and as a human being.

Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

:2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:

Genesis 3:3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

As Eve does her very best to quote the Commandment of the Lord God unto the serpent, she knows that they were not allowed to eat of that tree,
