    From the depths of my Soul i give you another portion of me
    so you can understand what i feel and visualize what i see
    but not with your eyes for i want you to see it with your spiritual discernment
    because I believe every morning GOD wake me up to obtain new mercies
    and I thank HIM, I show my love for I am not shy then I began to humble my flesh
    because the flesh is never ever at ease when going through test
    Sometimes I feel the trials come from the enemy himself
    for he comes in many faces even through the words of my mouth that are sometimes tasteless
    So I eagerly catch most of them and bury them in the ground
    because to live in this life all my idle words must be spiritually sound.

    My name is Elgin A Pierre. I was born in New Orleans, La. In the early years of my life in lived in Boutte, La. Then my family moved to Marerro, La for some of my teenage years. Our final move was to Luling, La , which is my current residence now. I have been writing poetry for about 15 years. Its always been my passion. I believe GOD knows all. I say that because I could remember in the 9th grade at John Ehret High School in Marerro, La, my mother made me take typing, I dont remember if i seen any other guys in that class!! I was the only guy to my knowledge. I think back then it was good thing she made me take take that class because its used to do what i do for a passion now!! Thank you MOM. Im writing this book and many more to come to release the gift that i believe GOD has bestowed upon me for every one to read. Some times we cant explain things in life. I have a gift from GOD. Th at is why i’m qualified to write this book and more to come for GOD is my qualifier.

      A BLACK MAN’S SOUL

      A Black Man’s Soul carries weight like Adam

      Constantly wearing down his flesh

      Forever a burden upon our lives

      Prejudice acts once a law now despised

      For as long as one breathes, it is still alive

      A Black Man’s Soul renders Revolution for the heart

      But brutality of the mind is similar to crossing a picket line

      And from the complications of many years, genocidal evolution starts

      A Black Man’s Soul Demonstrates Patience in a lifelong situation

      But with segregation in the mind it’s hard to lead by demonstration

      And with this attack against our mind

      Compiled with the down grading of our own kind

      The entire mind is debilitated and feeble

      Daily we pull all we have together just to be stable

      For through most of man’s eyes we’ll never be equal

      THANK GOD HE IS NOT LIKE MAN!!

      A Black Man’s Soul gets judged for the action of his race

      Let alone of what their judgmental eyes may see

      For they mentally colonize all black men for the deeds of some

      And steadily predict their future for what they will become

      A Black Man’s Soul fights for social independence

      But most of us have the audacity to call it being you

      Most don’t know SELF so they fall in love with who they want to be

      For the immolate other souls that fit their own fleshly purpose and strategy

      Well this black man soul is getting stronger on a daily basis

      And is starting to realize that the enemy comes in many faces

      Learning daily on how to strengthen myself mentally instead of physically

      Because to travel this journey we all have to be in tune spiritually

      This black man’s soul knows it’s time for a change

      For we as African-American men of GOD need to unite and get some things rearranged

      Find effective ways to reach other confuse men, to try to change their mind frame

      And do it with humility and dedication, not looking to receive any fame

      For this black man’s soul renders his will to GOD

      And knows who to lean on whenever times get hard

      Because I have learned that we can do all things through CHRIST who strengthen us

      There for this black man soul will rely on GOD until his body return to the dust

      ASSASINATION #41 (9-21-11)

      The Heavens cry for peace, but no one is listening

      And who am I to speak when the backbone of my courage is weakening

      Woe is me

      Mental imprisonment has surly change our strategy

      We are mute to reality, an choose to erase our memories,

      Then we eject new ones, pleasurable ones, to over shadow what we have become

      So we speak in a whisper, too afraid of facing our fears

      While our innocent brothers’ rot for many unjustified years.

      Most of us are deaf to mourning of their family’s tears

      And blind to the oppressor’s plan, which leaves permanent scares

      We are closer to the problem than what we know

      But most pretend the solution is farther away than mars,

      And then have the audacity to set up their emotional guard

      But in that same thought, most of us need to be charged

      Truthfully, we need to be disbarred, for the simple fact that we know better
