Harold Slade
As a child Harold Slade wrote poetry. While attending Purdue University, he developed three chemical products. He was drafted in World War II. He spent four years of which two years was in combat making two beachheads and involved in the Battle of Bataan and the liberation of Manila. He was sent home in a hospital ship and recuperated before working as a chemist for seven years. He went into his own chemical business and developed seventy eight products. He had two books of poetry published: "Collected Poems," and "Sounds of the Heart," the third book, "Passion and Struggle" is in the process of being published. He won several first prizes and honorable mentions entering poems in various contests. Among his other literary works are a play, a novel and short stories. At age 30, he became an artist using all media and sculpting in stone, wood and clay. At age 45, he studied clinical psychology. After his degree he returned to business
