    Sophia Nicole Barrett-Benton is the wife of Ronald L. Benton and the mother of Caleb and Joshua Benton. She is the daughter of Ernest and Mamie Barrett of Farmville, NC. She resides in Greenville, NC. She graduated from Shaw University with a Bachelor degree in Social Work in 2004. Nicole surrendered her life to Christ as a teenager and though she has had some major bumps and bruises through life she continues to hold to God’s unchanging hand! She has two sisters Mamie Faye Barrett-White (Bryan), Denise Barrett-Blount (LaMichael), and Ernest Edward Barrett (Vassie). She loves family, laughing and just enjoying the simple things in life but most of all she loves Jesus. She has gained much wisdom throughout her experiences in life. Nicole loves to inspire, encourage and motivate others to reach their full potential in life. She loves to encourage by writing! Writing has become one way she gets to express herself vividly, confidently and boldly. Nicole is one who believes in working hard with a spirit of excellence and overcoming obstacles by the Word of God. Nicole is self-motivated, energetic and passionate about life.       Primarily, I would like to give all honor and glory to God from whom all blessings flow. God has always been and still is my greatest inspiration and without Him, the completion of this book would have never been accomplished. I am truly grateful to God.

      Next, to my husband, Ronald, who not only helped me through this process but also encouraged me for numerous years and has been nothing less than support and motivation through this entire journey. I love you dearly and may God bless you in all of your endeavors.

      To my angelic sons, Caleb and Joshua, who have understood the lack of quality time that I’ve not being able to spend with them through this long process. The manner in which you preach God’s Word and the means in which you teach has made me grow in numerous areas of my life. Thank you both for the unadulterated preaching and for the teaching of the Word of God. I pray that God gives back unto you both a thousand times more than you have given out!

      I would also like to extend my appreciation to my church family for encouragement, prayers, and the words of life spoken into my spirit from you all. I pray that you all continue to prosper in the Lord.

      Lastly, but not least, to all of my fabulous God-fearing friends in whom are all mighty women and men of God! I am thankful for you all being a part of my life! May God continue to bless you and your households!

      You will not respond this time

      As you have in times past

      God’s strength and His keeping power

      Will uphold you and you will last

      You’ve been through similar trials

      Just as this one, time and time again

      Do not allow this test this time

      To permit you to fall back in sin

      Stand firm, refuse to be moved

      Although you may have to cry

      Just know when the tears fall

      God will wipe them from your eye

      Tell the devil, be loud and bold-Tell him

      NOT THIS TIME!!! For this test is old!

      Been there, done that, you’ve tripped me up too many times in the past

      Now God has equipped me with the anointing

      He has enabled me to cast

      To cast you out by the Name of Jesus Christ

      Who shed His blood just for you and me

      That is why I can say NOT THIS TIME, devil

      I must proclaim my VICTORY!!

      See, devil I’m so glad I had the opportunity

      To come in contact with you

      For now I’ve learned that your methods are repeated

      You don’t come with anything new

      So why should I sacrifice my holiness, my righteousness, my relationship with God

      And lose my composure in this

      NOT THIS TIME devil

      I command you into the deepest abyss!!!

      Not this time—I will not give up the fight

      Not this time—I refuse to lose sleep at night

      Not this time—I will not allow my flesh to control

      Not this time—I will not tolerate a weary soul

      Not this time—I will not give thought to suicide

      Not this time—I refuse to isolate myself and hide

      Not this time—I will not feel guilty, nor will I act as if God’s voice I have not heard

      Oh but I will, this time I will stand firm

      And this will not be by any compromising terms!

      I bless God for empowering me

      I give him all glory for He allows me to see

      The enemy, his tricks and schemes

      And how he tries to get me to digress

      Because he’s afraid of the anointing that I bring

      I encourage you, as I encourage myself,

      Hold your head high, you can make it, look to God and begin to confess

      For He is a present help in the time of need

      God will not leave you comfortless

      God promised He will never leave you nor forsake

      He will see you through every heartache

      This trial that you’re facing is only to sharpen your faith

      When you come out on the other side you will witness of his grace

      You will encourage others not to give in to the devil’s schemes

      You will testify how God brought you through and manifested your visions and dreams

      Not this time-refuse to let the devil win

      Have a different response to trials and tempted sin

      Praise your way through with tears in your eyes

      Shout for joy, let God hear your voice, for to His promises you are forever tied!!

      NOT THIS TIME! (ENLIGHTENED)

      In order to get new results you must have a new response. When the enemy comes and tries to discourage you, try to make you feel worthless, try to make you feel less than, abandoned, discouraged, irritated, forsaken, discarded, unfulfilled, frustrated, insignificant, lonely, empty and hollow you must stand firm and tell him NOT THIS TIME!! You have been through this trial before. This is not new to you. The reason you continue to fail the test is because you will not rise up by the spirit of the Living God and declare victory! You will continue to go through the same trial until you find it within yourself to be bold enough to tell the devil he is defeated, overpowered, conquered, subdued, dethroned, crushed because of the finished work on the cross! Put on the strength of God! You cannot do this in your own strength but God’s grace is sufficient! God has anointed you to declare and decree this word and it shall come to pass for God will not have us ignorant of the enemy’s schemes! God has already equipped us with everything we need to stand against the enemy. All you need is a made up mind and a determination on the inside that tells the enemy you are in this thing for the long haul. You have already been given the victory; you just have to make up in your mind to walk therein. God wants you to grow up and stop trippin’ over the same stuff you tripped over last year and the year before that and the year before that. God wants to grow us up to spiritual maturity, perfect and complete in him. All you have to do is open your mouth and begin to praise God as if you have lost your natural mind. Enter into the spirit with your praise for every time you praise God it takes you out of the enemy’s reach. The devil cannot stand
