Foreword
When Matthew was three he was wary of dogs. I sent him The Adventures of Hugo and Oscar by daily e-mails from New Zealand as I was living out there at the time. His father, my grandson, read them to him each night, in England, for his bedtime story. Gradually he came to love the dogs and started to ask for more adventures. Since then he has visited the dogs in New Zealand.
I hope your children enjoy this, the third book of The Adventures of Hugo and Oscar, as have my family.
Matthew is now nearly seven. I have written this book as an entertaining introduction to geography and history for him and other young people of six to ten years.
Hugo and Oscar speak directly to the child about their adventures.
