About this ebook

Able to see spirits, or Spirit People, at an early age, Marcias first work is a memoir of her early years and of her longtime spirit companion, Sammy. Telling a story set in Bonnybridge, Scotland, in the 1950s, Marcia paints a vivid picture of growing up in a family of ten, in which it was natural for her to have playmates that her family sometimes couldnt see. Much of her early life would later set the stage for her successful career as a medium.

Marcia recounts raucous adventures with her friends and familyaccidentally becoming the leader of a girl fight gang, enduring a mishap with hair rollers, coming into early adulthood, and working through schoolall with a mischievous best friend who had a habit of playing pranks and of being unseen!

Through it all, Marcia spins her story with frank, honest humour and a refreshingly grounded perspective.

Marcia M Clark

Marcia M. Clark, BSc, Dplt, Dsct, was born into a working class family in Bonnybridge, Scotland, in 1953. She was the firstborn of her parents together, who had both been married and widowed before they met each other; each had a daughter to their previous marriages. She was one of eight, and times were hard when she was growing up. Marcia was born with spiritual awareness and a spirit companion called Sammy who stayed with her through thick and thin, until she was nearly nineteen years old. Sammy inspired her to write of her life experiences, which have been so many and sometimes surreal. She was eleven years old when she found a lady who was spiritually aware, and after many meetings with her she found out that she too had a gift. Her new friend told her that her gift would open up a sixth sense, and that would allow her to communicate with the spirit world. She was curious to find out more and captivated enough to take the gift as far as she could. With her new psychic mentor and Sammy’s help, she was set on her spiritual pathway. It took almost four decades to develop her mediumship, and now she feels it is time to share those experiences.

This book is dedicated to my dear father,

    ALEXANDER MUIR

Who instilled in me high standard morals and principles, which moulded me into the person I am today.

His love and support when on this earth helped me through difficult times.

And his remarkable communication from the spirit world, gave me understanding and true evidence of survival beyond the grave.

And to my wonderful spirit mentor

    SAMMY

Without his guidance I would never have understood my reasons for being, and the differences between the two worlds. His love and devotion never ceased to amaze me; in fact it blew me away.

    Preface

I have been waiting for this book for years! I first met Marcia on a residential course at the world renowned Arthur Findlay College, a centre for spiritual excellence. I was impressed both by Marcia’s bubbly and open personality and her wonderful connection to spirit. Over the years I have got to know her and have been amazed at her tenacity and determination to follow her spiritual path even though she has had to overcome enormous hurdles in her life.

She is a bright star, a wonderful gentle soul who works with spirit with a pure heart. I am delighted that a wider audience will now be able to learn about the incredible world of spirit from one of its most down to earth ambassadors. It is my absolute pleasure and delight to endorse her first book. I hope that she will write many more in the years to come.

Her father Alexander Muir was born on 30th November 1918; and her mother Jeannie Clark McKinnie was born on 13th August 1929.

She was the first born between her parents, who had both been married and widowed before they met each other, and each had a daughter to their previous marriages. She was one of eight, and times were really hard when she was growing up.

Marcia was born with spiritual awareness and a spirit companion called Sammy, who stayed with her through thick and thin, and until she was nearly 19 years old. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to my family, and especially my elderly mother for giving me the space throughout the night, to let my intuitive juices flow. To my father who taught me everything when he was here on the earth, and who gave me clear direction from the spirit world, whilst writing this project. To my brothers and sisters for being part of my eventful life, thank you for a lot of those experiences mentioned in this project. To my big sister Janette Kettles who gave me love and support all through my life. And also for reading the final draft and helping me bring it all together. My brother in law Martin Kettles for his humour, as it definitely took away the pressure. Thanks go to my nieces, great nieces, nephews and great nephews, for all their loving comments and encouragement. To my dear aunt Isobel who passed away just as I finished writing. She will always be remembered for her kindness, and famous for her scones, which she baked to perfection.

Throughout this project, I was constantly reminded that I have been so very fortunate, to have had first-hand help and support from the spirit world. And I thought it appropriate to end the first project, when my first spirit mentor Sammy had to leave me, and move on back to his rightful place in the spirit world. I will always be grateful to Sammy for guiding me through stages on my spiritual pathway, and always helping me to connect with the next possible link in the chain. Sammy was my friend, my mentor, my comfort and support alongside my father whom I love with all my heart. And to my angel nurse Irene, and my good friend and mentor Nancy, whom I would have been lost without. To the guy who read eyes and the medium that he brought along to help me.

    My gratitude to my friends; Laura Paggiossi for helping to make this possible; Tisha Bratt for her love and support, and very kind words; Cat Mack for nurturing me all the way through this project; Janet Cameron for her faith and guidance; Mandy and Sharon for their encouragement;

To all my facebook friends, for all their loving comments of support, and for always having faith in me. To everyone who is mentioned here, you have no idea how much your love and support helped me through, I love you all.

    Introduction

We come to this life as a blank slate, which gives us the option to learn and grow. Life on earth is part of a journey that cannot be appreciated, until it is fully understood! It is known that Mother earth will give herself up as the classroom, to allow soul growth through challenges and life experiences. Therefore, we come to this life to learn as many lessons as possible. Apparently the same mistake can be made over and over again, but until real pain is felt the lesson cannot be learned. And only when we suffer pain can we say that we have learned that particular lesson, as every lesson comes with its own set of pain. However, lessons learned are so beneficial to both character and soul. We live in one universe with two worlds running parallel. The earth is the classroom, and the spirit world is the afterlife. And although we come to this life as a blank slate, we will always be gifted with free will and choice. And before we come to this life we choose our challenges, and we choose everyone who will play a part in helping us to grow through those challenges. We are part of the whole soul group while we are in the spirit world, but when we come to this earth life we are individual. Every lesson learned no matter how big or small, is taken back to contribute to the growth of the whole soul group. Therefore, nothing is ever lost, and no-one is ever alone in this world or the next.

I was born with spiritual awareness and a spirit companion called Sammy. I was fortunate to have Sammy for a long time, because I never felt like I was ever on my own. I used to think that Sammy was assigned to me for the rest of my life, and I got a shock when he had to move on. I was very lucky though that Sammy stayed with me through thick and thin, and until I was nearly 19 years old. Sammy inspired me to write my life experiences, which have been so many and sometimes surreal. Since I have always felt the urge to write, I never found any part of this project difficult. After all what could be difficult about telling the world the truth? However, finding time to write was a challenge in itself, but once I learned to focus in on my project, and use the power of the mind, nothing else mattered. I also learned that there’s a reason for everything, and distractions only made me stronger. And when my goal was firm in my mind, it was a lot easier than I originally thought. And since my journey has been timed to great precision, I knew that this was the correct time to write. Therefore, together with free will and choice the words truly flowed from my fingers. My inspiration may have come from the spirit world, but my words come straight from my heart.

My father was born in 1918, to a family of thirteen. Fifteen people in a room and kitchen was surely a sign of the times. There was definitely not enough love to go around in this family, and he was a middle child, which meant that he would struggle for identity anyway. Luckily for him he had a laid back personality, and nothing seemed to bother him. In his early days he was a coal miner, and later went off to the army to fight for his country. He was medically retired at the young age of forty, because of health issues, such as emphysema and chronic bronchitis, through working in coal mines, and the treacherous conditions of war. And sadly he passed over on 23rd November 1997.

My mother was born in 1929 with only one older sister in her family. She was a delicate soul, who was sick most of her childhood days. She missed a lot of school because she caught tuberculosis early in her life, and lay in a sanatorium for years. And so she went through most of her life with lack of understanding. Although my mother was spiritually aware, she never used her gift to work with spirit, and she actually reached the age of 80, before she asked any questions about what she was seeing. It turns out that my mother is a true clairvoyant, seeing spirit people in her bedroom every night.

My parents met in 1951, and got married in June 1952. They both had a daughter to previous marriages, and although I was the first born from this marriage, the 2nd child was born 10 months later, and I wasn’t the baby anymore! However, my older sister from my father’s previous marriage took me into her care, and looked after me like I was her own. All through life we have been close to each other, and the love bond is still very strong to this day.

My parents went through life struggling for money because there were too many mouths to feed, and not enough money coming in. Although they were under a lot of strain for the best part of their marriage, it never stopped them from loving each other. However, back in those days no-one ever openly showed emotion, so we as a family never saw them together as a couple; all we knew was that another baby was born practically every 2 years! They survived the war and many recessions throughout their time together.

My maternal grandmother read tea-leaves, but only for her close circle of friends. They used to do it secretly so no-one would know it was going on. Back in those days (early 1900s) people had to be careful because of the Witchcraft Act. As far as my grandmother was concerned she knew nothing about tealeaves, and would deny that she did readings because of fear of what might happen to her! I knew my grandmother well, but not well enough to know that she read tealeaves. My mother told me about my grandmother long after her passing, and I then understood how much of an influence she was on my life. Although it was never spoke about, somehow I knew that my gift must have run in the family.

I often wondered why I had spirit voices whispering in my ear, but as I grew older, I understood about pathways and reasons for being here. And one of the reasons for my current life, was to help people understand that time is precious. I was 11 years old when I found a lady who was spiritually aware, and after many meetings with her I found out that I had a gift. My new friend told me that my gift would open up a sixth sense, and that would allow me to communicate with the spirit world. I was curious to find out more, and captivated enough to take this gift as far as I could. And with my new mentor and Sammy’s help, I was set on my spiritual pathway. It took almost 4 decades to develop my mediumship, but looking back now every pain and effort was so worthwhile. Although life was never easy for me, I probably endured the same amount of challenges as anyone else! When I was 11 years old I used to read ordinary playing cards and later I held a crystal ball in my hand. I was always drawn towards crystals but I never realised the connection, until I was well on my spiritual pathway. There have been plenty of spiritual happenings in my life, and although some would be fazed it became a way of life for me. I regularly saw spirit people, and communicated through my mind, although I never knew until much later that mind language is called telepathy.

All through my life I have felt different from others’ and I believe the reason is that I’m on a mission. I have always known that I had been here on the earth many times before, and this time my life would be dedicated to others.’ I learned early on in my life to connect with my soul, which gave me access to vast amounts of information that helped me to teach spiritual awareness. Although my physical life was one of a very ordinary nature, my spiritual existence was ultimately extra-ordinary. Firstly I could feel what others were thinking, and later I heard the thoughts of others in my mind. Of course I only heard those thoughts if it was important and absolutely necessary. I learned the ethics of working with spirit, and I lived by those rules out of sheer respect to others. I used to be very sensitive around people early on in my life; however, time and experience has given me knowledge and understanding. I never gave much thought to becoming a medium, it just seemed to happen. I have been guided through stages of my life, which always led me to my spiritual pathway, and one that I eventually could not deny. I do believe this piece of writing is the tip of an iceberg, and will become a four-part series that will be released in time. Throughout my life I have been given help to understand reasons for existence, and I now feel it is time to pass it on.

    The early years

I REMEMBER THE EARLY YEARS OF my life as being a very sensitive child. I was fortunate to sense so many things, and without the need to question. I just always felt that it was right for me to feel and see what others’ couldn’t. I could literally stand next to people and feel their mood and emotion. And those emotions were sometimes confusing, because I never knew where they were coming from. However, by the time I reached adolescence I recognised what was happening in my life. I then learned to go with the flow and control emotions and mood swings. Although it was much later when I found out that my sensitivity was due to psychic abilities. Therefore, I had different challenges from everyone else, because I battled daily with emotions. Although I had difficult challenges I felt those challenges gave me strength of character, and made me the person I am today. I used to think that the universe consisted of just the earth, but I soon found out that there were at least two worlds in the universe, the earth and the spirit world. I have always counted my blessings, and been grateful to the universe for the chance to learn and grow. And maybe I was more fortunate than others, because I often got the chance to see the bigger picture. When I see modern day scan photographs I get a pulling feeling inside my solar plexus. I never knew what that meant until recently, when
