About this ebook

This book is a journey of faith and dependence on God. Just JESUS describes the place where we are all tested, and where many of us will fail the test. This book is a ministry in trusting totally in the Lord, because deliverance can only come through Jesus. How do you depend totally on God when you are hundreds of miles from kindred and the one who is supposed to love and provide for you until death has decided to walk away and leave you and your children without any means of support or help? Would a loving God allow such a thing to happen? Read the book and journey with the writer as she opens your eyes to the awesomeness of God in a dark and dreary time and place. Just JESUS is a must-read for those who may be getting discouraged or think God may have forgotten that they are living for Him and not Satan.

How do you know when you are walking in the will of God when your tests and trials are so great and so numerous? How do you depend on God and trust God when it seems like He has let you down? How do you know it is God working on your behalf?

This book is a journey that will answer these questions and more. Through life’s situations, I stepped out on my faith in God and moved to a strange land. With only my husband and infant son, I moved from a loving and secure family in North Carolina and journeyed to Oklahoma and later to Texas. I had to learn how to trust and depend on God. Through the sufferings in a strange land, the book Just JESUS was birthed. The Lord had already blessed me when I received a bachelor of science degree in early childhood education before leaving North Carolina. It was through my journey that He allowed me to continue my education and get an associate degree in drug and alcohol counseling with minors in sociology and psychology. I was also later blessed to get my master’s degree in leadership and educational organization. These degrees were obtained to enable me to achieve dreams and visions of helping diverse groups of children worldwide and ministering to the needs of hurting women.

As my journey into the unknown continued, so did my sufferings. My mind turned towards home in North Carolina, which meant love and security. But I had grown in Christ, and the Lord spoke to me and told me, You are not alone. I heard His voice speaking to me, softly saying, I will never leave you or forsake you. Put your trust and faith in Me and know that I will take care of you. I rejoice in knowing that in obeying the Lord, He confirmed directing me to this strange land of new beginnings. He also gave me a road map to follow on my journey.

I was blessed to have a shepherd who was a godly man and taught me the things of God and the way of holiness through precept and example. He was a mighty warrior and a great counselor to my husband and me. Upon his passing into eternal rest, I was doubly blessed to have another godly shepherd who continued to nurture and teach me about the gifts God has given me.

In the midst of the sufferings and the death sentence on my life and that of my unborn child, God was faithful. My deliverance has come through praising the Lord, no matter what I am going through. Praise has brought me so much joy, especially reuniting with my identical twin sister after a nine-year separation. Read and see how Jesus brought us back together.

It has been over twenty years later, and it’s still just Jesus.

    Dedication

    Dear Twin,

Today, I wanted to write something special to you. I know this page is to be a dedication to you, but I really just want to write this letter to you!

I thank God for you being in my life. Your love for me down through the years has sustained me. There has never been a time in my life that I felt like nobody loved me. I was always sure of your unconditional love. Your unwavering love helped me to find my way back to Christ.

You have given me so much of yourself that I wanted the Lord to teach me how to love also, unconditionally. I have not reached the level of love and trust that you are at, but I do give God the glory for sending you as an inspiration to me.

    Twin, you are my hero!

    You are my inspiration!

You are my living example of God’s agape love!

I do not take our bond of love for granted.

I admire the strength in you!

I praise God for your love for Him. I am in awe of your tenacity for those you love. I adore your gentleness and femininity. I am amazed by your tenderness and many tears.

Twin, keep loving God and I know that you will keep loving people. Thank you for being my hero!

    Much love and devotion,

    The Other Twin

    Foreword

This is more than a book. It is a ministry. I was privileged to witness the birth of this heartrending book written by my twin. As the chapters unfolded, so did my understanding of the bond and love that holds us together. I have firsthand knowledge of the tears, pain, and agony that my twin endured in putting into print the words you are about to read. I can testify that once you start reading this book, you will find it very, very hard to put down. Somewhere between the beginning chapter and the end of the book, you will find yourself.

This book opens up new understandings of the unique relationship between twins, although they may be hundreds of miles apart. It is my twin’s goal that the readers not ponder on the sufferings but on the deliverance she received through trusting,
