      To Our Daughters, Laura and Debbie,

      When you were little, probably between four to six years old, you both would say to me,

      Tell us a story Daddy. Tell us about the girls.

      So before you went to bed, I would begin by telling you a story about these two sisters named Laura and Debbie who lived on a farm in the middle of the woods. You would comment—

      Oh, they even have the same names as us.

      Then I would tell all about what happened that day with us on the farm. Even though you had experienced it, you would listen as if you were hearing a story about two other little girls. You loved hearing me tell about our adventures.

      Love Dad

      I remember those stories well and how your Dad would actually tell you the exact things that happened each day. You both looked so cute as you listened closely to every word.

      Years later I thought about those stories and adventures. There were times we prayed together and you saw how God protected us. Like the incident when
