About this ebook

In her quest to have a more meaningful spiritual relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ, Savitri Scott made the choice to look deeper into Gods Word to find Him and have daily conversations with Him. The result has been irrefutable evidence of the power and significance of prayer in the life of a Christian, along with inexplicable peace, joy, and reassurance.

Sometimes lifes issues convince us to move away from God, rather than toward Him, but that is not what He intended for His children. This twenty-one-day devotional uses ordinary life situations and affirms through prayer and Scripture how God inspires and directs us to confront those situations. It demonstrates the sufficiency and privilege of prayer, and non-condemningly assures of Gods declaration of love and promise of forgiveness and salvation through His Son Jesus Christ.

Centered on daily prayer and Scripture, this book endorses Gods Word to enliven a stronger and deeper relationship with our Creator and Father. Let the readings become a personal tool to spiritually stimulate and jumpstart continual, personal, spiritual intimacy with God. Seek personal, intimate time with God for a more personal and intimate relationship with Him.

    ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

My ability to arrive at the end of this project is due to the help that I have had in the navigation. Thank you, Holy Spirit, for revelation and direction.

Thank you to my husband Bronson, for being my life buoy and continually pushing me to finish what I start. Thank you to my editor Brenda, for exceeding patience and for advising me to do all within my ability to make this devotional the best it could be and then trust the Lord to fill in the gaps. Now, Lord, fill in the gaps.

    INTRODUCTION

Spiritual growth is a process, and it occurs when you let go of yourself, let go of your past mistakes, acknowledge your undeniable need for God, and submissively allow Him to show you the immensity of His love for you. The guiltiness of spiritual infidelity should never keep us from God. He wants to be in a relationship with His children, and as His child, nothing that you could ever do will keep Him from pouring out His love for you if you seek Him earnestly and repentantly. He gave His Word in 2 Chronicles 7:14: If My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, pray, seek, crave, and require of necessity My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.

The enemy of your soul and body wants to have influence in your life, and he uses lies and deception in order to get that authority. The Bible confirms that the thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance—to the full, till it overflows (John 10:10). Peace, health, joy, love, and prosperity are in direct opposition to what the enemy wants for you. In order to prosper in all areas of your life, it is important to know that God has purpose and direction for you. In order to know your purpose and receive direction on how to fulfill it, the most eminent relationship of your life—your relationship with God—needs tending to daily. If you are devoted to beginning that relationship or developing a deeper one, you are embarking on a journey of prayer, Bible study, reflection, and self-examination.

The Christian journey is one of faith. A journey of this kind will require your dedication and perseverance—daily soul checkups. Building a good relationship takes time and commitment, and the way to build and establish a spiritual relationship with God is to spend time with Him through prayer and reading His Word. By taking time every day to pray and study the Word of God, you can be led to truths that will draw you closer to Him and unmask lies that Satan uses to disconnect you from Him. More often than not, the people who are wise, who know and acknowledge their purpose, and who experience joyful, abundant lives are those who devote daily time to pursuing God’s presence through prayer and heeding His instruction.

I wanted to write something that individuals desiring to know God better could use as an escort for daily prayer and Scripture reading, something that dealt with several of life’s ordinary situations and spiritual issues, but also included the assurance of God’s love, forgiveness, salvation, and His promise of an abundant life. The purpose of this devotional is to encourage you to pray daily and to seek the truth in God’s Word about you and your life. It is my prayer that this book becomes a vehicle for initiating or even rekindling and igniting the most fundamental union or reunion that you will ever have—the one with Jesus Christ.

It has been said and research has shown that twenty-one days of firm, unyielding repetition forms habits. If you want to develop a spiritual habit of daily communion with God, and reach spiritual turning points that will create and establish a meaningful relationship with Him and ultimately lead to a meaningful and abundant life, for three weeks you can start each day with this devotional. Start with each day’s Scripture verse and reading that focuses on personal issues and spiritual deterrents, and receive encouragement to let go of any old hindrances, to avoid obstacles, and to give Christ full authority over your life. Each devotion ends with a daily prayer and a Scripture passage, which serve to encourage greater fellowship with God and as catalysts for your own personal meditation, reflection, and intimate time with Him. Read each day with application to your life and experiences, and in twenty-one days, you will have challenged yourself to confront some critical spiritual hurdles as well as explored what God’s Word has to say about them and about you. Assuredly this twenty-one day expedition
