The Crowning of the King
Morrisville was blooming with life; the festival of the new King was fantastic. The people of Caspia seemed particularly pleased. They were coming from all over Caspia. They came from places like Waterhold, Dragons Peak, and even Zarna. There were children everywhere. Small stalls were selling goods to the people of Caspia, and entertainers had been doing tricks. Never before was Morrisville so happy, the new King of Caspia, Henry the Brave, was being handed the crown.
Damien and Seth were from Waterhold; they had been knighted not too long ago and were enjoying the festivities. Damien said, It has been going great so far, I hope no one causes problems today because it would be a shame to stop such a wonderful festival.
Seth said, I hope so too but who would be naive enough to disturb the crowning.
The two chuckled; Damien was twenty six years old and Seth was Twenty four. Both men were tall and had broad muscles. Damien had long blonde hair and blue eyes. Seth had long black hair, and brown eyes.
Damien and Seth were going around checking to make sure no one had any weapons or dangerous objects. Damien said, Well I checked everyone—it is safe.
Seth said, I don’t understand why we have to guard King Henry, if there aren’t any hostiles.
Damien said, Well we are stationed here, so we do not have a choice.
The two took rounds around the perimeter of the city; they had finished taking rounds of the city within an hour. They went to the new King’s tent. Damien and Seth went inside the tent. Damien said, My Lord there are not any hostiles in sight.
Lord Henry said, Well done, I knew I could rely on you.
Seth said, Your grace, we should continue the festival. It is time for your crowning.
Lord Henry said, Yes, I will be out in a minute. Is the Herald ready?
Seth said, Yes he is standing by the crown waiting for your arrival.
King Henry said, Alright let us go.
Lord Henry walked by Seth and Damien to the crowning area. Lord Henry looked confident and strong with his white, glossy beard that was well trimmed. He wore a red cape that was long enough to be touching the ground. He was only sixty two years old, almost The youngest King Caspia has ever had.
The Herald said, Attention, we will move on to the crowning of the new King - Lord Henry of Waterhold.
All the people came close to the wooden platform where Lord Henry was being crowned. Lord Henry sat on the chair, the Herald said, Do you Lord Henry of Waterhold swear to rule all of Caspia with pride, honor, and respect?
Lord Henry confidently said, I swear.
The Herald said, Do you Lord Henry of Waterhold swear to treat all the Caspian’s equally and with respect?
King Henry said, I swear.
The Herald said, Do you Lord Henry of Waterhold swear to crush all the enemies of Caspia?
Lord Henry said, I swear.
The Herald said, All hail the new king of Caspia
, and crowned him. The people cheered for King Henry.
King Henry got up and said, Today marks a new day in Caspian history. You the people rule my kingdom alongside me; together we will turn Caspia into a mecca of life.
Damien and Seth walked down with the King towards the Castle of Morrisville when suddenly they heard rattling.
Almost as if horses were galloping at a dragons pace. Everyone ran to the gates. Damien was expecting more people coming to attend the festival. To their surprise there were ten hooded men riding what seemed to be horses at an extremely fast pace.
Damien commanded the guards to close the gates, and said, Seth take King Henry to the castle.
So Seth and King Henry went to the castle, while Damien and the guards were standing behind the gate. The hooded men stopped and got off their horses then approached the gates. Damien shouted, State your business!
The hooded men kept coming, finally when they were close enough. One of the men growled, Clear the path or die.
Damien said, Who are you?
The man growled, Clear the path or die.
Damien said, You are under arrest for causing havoc.
The men retreated to the horses when Damien ordered to open the gates. Suddenly the ten seemingly men turned around and stormed into the city. Their robes came off, wearing little armor monstrous creatures with grey worn out skin, with great heights, and sharp claws attacked the guards.
Damien fell on his back; the creatures slashed the guards, slaughtering them one by one. Damien got to his feet and tried to jab one with a sword but to no avail. The creature smashed Damien against a wall. The creatures went around like animals attacking women and children; no one was spared. Damien was bleeding; he used the little energy he had to walk to the castle. Damien was losing sight and got hurt badly, but managed to get to the castle.
Inside he saw Seth on the floor unconscious, and then he saw the ten creatures surrounding King Henry. Damien went charging in, he took his sword out and slashed a creature’s head off!
The creature turned into dust, the
