    Uncertainty can be a nagging fear for children even in the best of times (sunny days) but in troubling, difficult times ( stormy days), it can become a constant companion. As parents and loved ones of children we would love to promise them--"nothing bad is going to happen to you or me; everything is going to be all right." Facing the reality that we are not in control of all that is part of our child's world and can not fulfill that promise in all situations, how can we prepare them to live unfettered by fear. Scripture gives us some great visuals to help us understand how Jesus loves and cares for us that can be grasped by even young children. Six of them are covered here along with suggestions for how to use the book to strengthen their grasp and understanding of these truths.

    Judy Wimberley, Author Judy and her husband, James, live in Dallas, Texas, where he serves on the staff of Watermark Community Church. They are parents of four children and spoiler grandparents to fourteen, ranging from age fifteen to three. This is a busy but joyful season of life. Judy has always loved teaching children about the love of Jesus. She had a Good News Club in her home for fifteen years and saw many of her children’s friends come to accept and follow Christ. This book is dedicated to her grandchildren, and the character in the book is her oldest grandchild, Jack. It is written to encourage children around the world that in the sunny days and even in the midst of dark, gloomy and stormy days that in Jesus Christ, they can be strong and courageous because God is always with them wherever they go. “Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 (NKJV) Sallie Dean, Illustrator Sallie has been dabbling in artful expression her whole life, gets excited about the color chartreuse, and actually gets to adventure full time with her kids. Her husband, Caleb, teases that if you stand still in their home Sallie will paint you, as she enjoys helping the ordinary become treasure. As a self-proclaimed bookworm and lover of art, The Jack Book is her first chance to combine these two joys into a book. Sallie prays many children comprehend just how loved and secure they are in Jesus.
