    FOREWORD

In this her second book, Carmel has achieved a portrayal of the truth founded on the Word of God in a way that would bring hope to any discouraged soul.

Primarily born out of her own experience and revelation, her emphasis is to expound on God’s deep love and desire for each of us to enter into an intimate relationship with Him.

Her expose enables the reader to experience the joy of knowing they are loved without restrictions.

This is a delightful book following her first publication, easy to understand but powerful in its content.

    Enjoy and be encouraged!

    INTRODUCTION

Following on from my first book God’s Fruitful Garden (which included the testimony of how God helped my whole family find hope and victory in Him); Communion with God explores what it means to know our Heavenly Father and enjoy close relationship with Him.

    2 Corinthians 13:14 (Amplified)

The grace (favour and spiritual blessing) of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the presence and fellowship (the communion and sharing together, and participation) in the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen (so be it)

God wants His children to ‘fly as on eagles wings’ and ‘soar above clouds of disappointment’ to a place of consistent security and trust in Him. My prayer is that this book will encourage your heart to experience intimate fellowship with our Father God, and learn more about the victory you have in Christ.

As always, my husband John and I thank Andrew Wommack Ministries, Charis Bible College and Reverend George Irwin for their love, support and sound teaching. Thanks also to Pastor Ben Conway for helpful insight which he kindly allowed to be included within this book. Special appreciation goes to our wonderful family and friends who always enrich our lives.

I offer the prophetic words of encouragement within this book to bless the reader and build up The Body of Christ. However, as you consider them, please keep in view the authority of Scripture above all else.

May our God of grace bless you abundantly

as Jesus holds you securely in His arms

    Taken from Psalm 27

    The

    LORD

is my light and my salvation—so why should I be afraid? The

    LORD

is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble? . . . My heart has heard You say, Come and talk with Me. And my heart responds, "

    LORD

, I am coming." . . . You have always been my helper . . . You hold me close . . . therefore I will be brave and courageous . . . I will wait with expectation on the

    LORD

    .

    CHAPTER ONE

    Finding your Wings

God’s Word says that without vision (i.e. without hope) people perish (Proverbs 29:18). I believe God wants to envision His People and restore hope to those who have lived through many struggles. God has so much for us to enjoy in Him. Therefore I begin with a vision and word of encouragement that I personally received from The Lord during a time of my own difficulties.

Please receive this encouragement for yourself, whatever your situation may be, and allow God to speak to your heart through the following words . . .

    •   Vision of hope

During a time of upheaval, I felt The Lord speak to me in a vision, where He showed me something which looked like an aeroplane landing strip. The surrounding was dark but there was light coming into the picture which looked like the dawn trying to break through the night sky.

Then I saw narrow beams of light shining upwards from the sides of the runway, offering a direction to follow. I could have missed recognising these lights except that God reminded me to look for the light even in a dark situation

As I watched the plane, it rose out of the darkness back into the sky where the beams pointed to the breaking dawn. Night was becoming day again… another day. I got the impression of some words while watching the plane, which were: don’t allow dark thoughts to land

I then found myself as though ‘inside the vision’ piloting the plane, experiencing the thrill of rising into the skies. Mist began breaking over the wings of the plane as the flight soared through the clouds, embracing the light of day above.

It was amazing to see God’s world below and His heavens all around… . It was an awesome sense flying ‘through
