    Despina Hadjioannou, Author and Artist, has been a Primary School Teacher for over thirty years, and a Storyteller and Poet for longer! Even as a child, Despina loved to tell and write stories. As an adult, she can keep her listeners enthralled as she creates characters, creatures, settings, plots and adventures. She finds amazing things hidden in plain sight; strange and mysterious things in the ordinary, which fire children’s and adults’ imaginations. In 2006 Despina started exhibiting and selling her art work to the public. She has published several anthologies of her own poetry. As a deeply religious person, much of her poetry she says, has been inspired through prayer.
