About this ebook
Beverly Battaglia
Beverly Battaglia was born and raised in California. She received a Bachelors of Arts degree in History and Political Science and a Masters Degree in American Social History at California State University, Chico. She moved to Tinian in 1989 and was immediately fascinated by the rich past of the Marianas Islands, a history unmentioned in most social studies texts. Eager to learn more, Ms. Battaglia read the available book and literature on the islands, toured Guam, Saipan, Rota and Pagan, hiked the jungles and listened to the tales told by others more familiar with and knowledgeable about the islands. These books (Part I and II) are her attempt to put what she has learned into a form that can be enjoyed by and shared with others who live on, visit and or just want to learn more about these beautiful islands. After 19 years on the islands, the author reluctantly moved back to California. She resides in Gualala with her husband, daughter and four cats. Ms. Battaglia is now working on a A Pictorial History of the Northern Mariana Islands, Part III on the off chance that more than family and friends might actually buy Parts I and II.
