For years, I have ministered in word and in song, in areas such as tent meetings, prisons, soup kitchens, drug and alcohol rehab centers, to the homeless, as well as street ministry, etc. We were blessed to see many people saved and delivered. I’m just an ordinary person serving an extraordinary God. He forever changed my life, when I wasn’t sure I ever could change. I love him. I now live in East Providence, Rhode Island, where God has a body of people who really love Jesus. One day years ago, I had a supernatural experience. From the upper corner of my room down to where I was lying, great white droplets were coming down on me and going right through me. God spoke to me and said, “I’m leading you to my harvest field.” To God be the glory; that had been the desire of my heart. >http://lindaruscito.wix.com/7777

Reviews for Sunshine After Rain
2 ratings1 review
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Sunshine After Rain by Dee Williams was exactly the right kind of book for me at this time. A story about two sisters, Connie and Jenny Dalton, whose father goes down with the Titanic in April, 1912. The girls had always taken their privileged lifestyle for granted but their father had died leaving them penniless and with debts causing them to lose their home. With the arrival of WW I new opportunities are offered to women who want to move ahead in the work place and while Jenny settles for a difficult marriage, Connie learns to drive and works as a tram driver.Although the story involves woman’s rights and the suffragette movement along with conditions during the war both at home and in France, Sunshine After Rain was a warm and appealing read featuring two likeable sisters who faced life head-on. Romance certainly plays a part in the story, but I liked the fact that the girls didn’t focus all their attention on the opposite sex and that their own independence was very important. Sunshine After Rain was a good historical fiction read about the turbulent lives of two sisters who mature into strong-minded women set against the backdrop of World War I.

PREFACE
How can I begin to speak of the love of God? Mere words cannot begin to express all that He is and all that He means to me. If I would tell you of Jesus, my Lord and Savior, I would proclaim Him as the One who is always kind, the One who was always there when I needed Him. He is my best friend, the one who holds my head high.
(Psalm 3:3)
There were times in my life when things were so wrong for so long that I almost gave up. I thought true happiness would never be a reality for me.
But then things changed. One day, in my hour of despair, I reached out to God and for the first time in my life, I saw Jesus. Not with my physical eyes, but spiritual eyes. I saw my Lord and felt His amazing presence. As His peace flooded my soul, I didn’t want to face another day without Him. For, though many of the circumstances I was facing were still the same, I was not the same. I found peace of mind when I found Jesus, and now He is everything to me.
My heart aches when I see the suffering and needless pain that people experience in this world. Sin that for a moment seems so full of pleasure but which in the end swallows you up, destroying the dreams you held for happiness. How God must hurt for His people who are lost, the unfortunate souls He longs to bless but who reject Him—those for whom His Son died. Though some people think God doesn’t care, He does. Oh, how He suffered, all because of love. Jesus had no other motive. He had nothing to personally gain yet He gave His all for us. That is the very essence of love.
I am so thankful for this new life in Christ. Yes, there are problems, but there are also miracles. Someday I will stand in heaven among a host of angels and those who have gone on before me. And there, before God’s throne, I will praise His name forevermore, giving Him the glory He so richly deserves.
May the Lord bless you through the words of this book and fill your heart with faith as you grow closer to Him. You, too, will discover you will never be the same. I pray this book will be a blessing to you and that through it you will see Jesus.
CHAPTER 1
The Sun Will Shine Again
Perhaps life has dealt you a low blow and you’ve lost hope. In the natural it may appear that way. But, praise God, we serve a supernatural God. The God who created the universe, formed the stars, sculpted the mountains, gave birth to life: This is the God we serve. The God who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.
(Ephesians 3:20)
God’s power knows no limits. His grace is sufficient. His promises are forever to all who truly seek Him. His love cannot be measured nor contained but can transform a life when one is willing to yield to God’s divine plan.
To the Christian, there is no defeat, only lessons to be learned in a life filled with challenges. In God’s sight there are no problems, only opportunities—opportunities to demonstrate His power and glorify His name.
In order to receive these promises from God, you must first become His child. Becoming God’s child means more than simply claiming to be a Christian. For years I declared myself a Christian. And I was certain I was until the day my life began to fall apart. And then, in my despair, I cried out to God and found Him in a new and very real way.
Times were tough back then and I didn’t understand all that was happening to me. There were things I didn’t like about myself but didn’t know how to change. Powerless to change my circumstances for the better, I cried a thousand tears. Life seemed useless and I just wanted to give up. But then I remembered that God said He would never leave nor forsake me. He knows we struggle sometimes but looks beyond our faults. In the midst of it all, our merciful God teaches us the most incredible lessons, including the need to trust Him. And so I did.
In the midst of my pain, I began to search for the answer to my problems, and in prayer I found it. I began to go to church. I prayed for God to lead me to a church where I could receive the help I needed, somewhere I could grow in Him. And that’s just what He did.
One day, one of the men in the church who knew what I was going through invited me to his home. And for three hours that day, he sat and shared God’s love with me. On that day, through my tears—and there were many—I put my trust in God, and He changed my life.
In the midst of the storm, I began to lean on Him. And not only did my circumstances change, I changed, too.
Today I thank God I am no longer the same. Though I’m not all I should be, I no longer struggle with the same issues that I did back then. Jesus set me free!
Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to take Him at His word.
Just to know that He has promised,
Just to know, Thus saith the Lord.
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him,
How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er.
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus
Oh, for grace to trust Him more.
Jesus said, Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hears my voice, and opens the door, I will come in to him…
(Rev. 3:20)
I remember hearing that verse for the very first time. I couldn’t believe my ears. I thought, Inviting Jesus to come into my life and He will is really true?
Jesus said it, and so it is true, my friend. After all, you may not buy the words of men, but you surely cannot disregard the words of Jesus, the living Son of God. It is by adhering to His Word that we receive the transforming power of God.
Perhaps you, too, have been struggling to change your life on your own strength. If so, listen to the words of Jesus, who said, "Humble yourselves in
