About this ebook
The story of Azaria is one that opens the eyes to the strength and endurance of true love and the depth of forgiveness that love can reach to and at the same time. It depicts the strength, endurance, and resilience of the human spirit.
This is a story that I knew had to be told. Many have lived it, but the time had come for someone to put pen to paper and release it. This is to release the pain and feelings of hurt, betrayal, and disappointment and to also bring to light the joy that comes from withstanding any storm that may approach in life.
Azarias story is told in a series of books, with Azaria being the first of that series that will follow the journey that Azaria and her family travels.
In this book, there is an opportunity for the reader to identify with each character. This is a story about the strengths and flaws of human character. There is no villain; it is just a story of young love gone wrong, which could happen to anyone. Any man or woman could make the same human errors that have been made by the characters in this story. It is not for anyone to judge but to simply read and introspect. Any of these characters could be you, or even me.
Being human is a challenge. The obstacles life presents us with tests us on a daily basis, and our character strengths and weaknesses are often tested. We may be hurt or hurt others. We may be disappointed or let down or be the one who disappoints and lets someone else down. At the end of it all, we are still human. We still breathe the same air, cry the same tears, and bleed the same blood.
Ours is to live and love in the best way we can and the best way we know how, and this is the story of Azaria.

Anne Musoke
Anne Musoke is a writer based in Southern Africa. She was born in East Africa, and throughout her life, she has travelled to a number of countries around the continent, partly to widen her experience of life but also to connect and interact with other cultures around the African continent. All her life experiences inspired her to begin writing stories, poetry, prose, and thoughts. Many of her writings are personal, while others are written after observing certain situations or people, then writing from that point of view. Anne’s writing is largely influenced by African culture, from the pain and suffering that individuals, communities, and nations have experienced to the simple joy and intrigue of day to day living. Anne was fortunate enough to find true love in her life at a young age. Unfortunately, that true love also at some point turned into true pain through various incidents within the relationship. Anne was left alone to wonder about the high price that one may pay for love. After years of working in the mainstream employment field, Anne has now taken residence in a quiet, peaceful town, where she spends her time reading and writing and sharing her life with others in the form of her poetry, prose, and stories in the hope that it will bring as much healing, joy, laughter, and introspection to the reader as it did the writer.

Preface
(We all have the same story to tell)
T he story of Azaria is one that was written after much thought and consideration. Her story is not so singular in that there are many young women around the world that experience the same things Azaria endured. The uniqueness comes in the time, place and context that these events may have occurred and continue to occur.
The story of Azaria is one that opens the eyes to the strength and endurance of true love, the depth of forgiveness that love can reach to and at the same time, it depicts the strength, endurance and resilience of the human spirit.
This is a story that I knew had to be told, many have lived it, but the time had come for someone to put pen to paper and release it. Release the pain, feelings of hurt, betrayal and disappointment, and to also bring to light the joy that comes from withstanding any storm that may approach in life.

Prologue
A s she sat and looked at each one of them, she saw a reflection of herself, a reflection of her struggle, her strength, and her beauty. She saw her eyes in their faces, and in those eyes she saw her joys and her triumphs reflected. In each of their voices she could hear her own cries out to Lord, she could hear her laughter.
Here they sat, each one of them, an extension of her, a symbol of her soul and her truth. Each one of them represented her triumph over the adversaries that life had presented her with. As she looked at each of her daughters and her sons, and their daughters and their sons, she smiled and her heart was at peace, because she finally knew that every mountain she had climbed, every storm that she had weathered, every tear shed…it was all worth it, this is what it had all been about.
Grandma, what are you thinking about?
her youngest grand child, daughter to her youngest son crawled onto her lap. She held the tiny child and marveled at the child’s resemblance to herself. I was thinking about a story, a story that started a long time ago, long before you and your brothers and sisters were born.
She replied. Her eldest daughter Katya looked at her and smiled, knowing exactly what she was thinking, they had always had a unique connection; they had after all been through so much together.
Mum, maybe now is the perfect time for you to tell the children our story…
Katya said. As a family they had always agreed that all the children, grandchildren, great grand children and so forth, would all know the story, and continue to pass it on. That way they would never forget their roots, they would never lose sight of how they came into being. They would always know, honour and be proud of the blood that ran through their veins. They would be proud to know that they were sons and daughters of Azaria, a woman whose strength knew no boundaries, who had the courage of an army of men, the heart of a lion. A woman who had faced fear and won.
It was important for all generations to come, to know that because of her, they were all here today.
This is her story, this is the story of the strength of an African woman
