Karalina Levitsky
A Walk with a King is a journey of a new believer. After finding Christ, Karalina Levitsky experienced divorce, material loss, life as a single mom, and even homelessness. Though she was battling depression and uncertainty of a new lifestyle, the Lord was able to use her across the globe from Asia, Europe, Central America, and even her own backyard. From the moment she accepted Jesus in her life, she’s never been the same. Though her journey has just begun, she hopes that her writings will inspire others to experience their own personal walk with the King.

The Wall
T here once was a great stone wall, thick and impenetrable. Not a single ray of light passed through, nor did any sound. This massive wall stretched up to the sky casting a long dark shadow at all times, both day and night. One woman, in particular, had lived there all her life, never knowing true light. She crept through the shadows, slipped through the stench of the mud, and bathed in the pools of sin around her. Her body was covered in scars and bruises which she carefully hid under bags full of her only possessions. The weight on her shoulders and the mud caked to her feet wore her down more and more each day. Sitting against the wall, broken from the weight of her shame, she hid her face in her knees hoping this sleep would be her last.
The world went cold and silent. Her tears dripped into the mud. Darkness surrounded the woman, its claws out; licking its fangs as it prepared to claim another victim. Above the silence crept the steps, closer and closer. The woman felt the end staring down at her. Life as she knew it was over.
What she failed to see was the prowler run in fear, as the One whose footsteps she had heard moved toward her. Peering over her knees through tear-filled eyes the woman saw a man’s feet standing there in the mud. Even more shocking came not the growls she expected, but instead a gentle voice from above.
Come with me.
The woman looked up and His scarred hand was reaching down to her. He gave her a choice. There before her was an invitation from the King, Himself. Cautiously she reached up and gave Him her filthy hand. He knelt down, put His arms around her, and carried her through a great stone gate, giving orders to the guards that from this day forward the gate was to remain open to her.
Inside the wall the warmth of the sunshine lay like a blanket on the woman; a light that she had never known. It shone, and continues to shine as it always will, at all times both day and night. She breathed in deeply and captured the sweet aroma of the most beautiful songs which were constantly sung to honor the King. Indescribable beauty was shown in a King’s willingness to step down from His throne and kneel in the mud to carry a hopeless woman into the light and show her the meaning of true love.
Over time her love for the King allowed her to let down her heavy bags. They are meaningless in comparison to the mercy He handed over. Her bruises and scars healed a little more each day, but the scars of the King were heavily embedded and did not fade. These scars, He told her, were from the time when He came far from His throne into a world where He was hated by many. He lived in the same mud where He had found her. Though He faced all the same challenges as she, He did not bathe in the pools of sin around Him or surrender when His strength had faded. Instead, He not only left the comfort of His throne, but gave all He had left… His life, that He might save not one, but all who are willing to reach out to Him. Stronger than death, He broke free from its chains and claimed His throne once again.
Why Jesus, King of all kings, took the time to save me, I can’t fully grasp. His love is greater than I can imagine. It’s like trying to fit eternity into a bottle. The magnitude of His grace is immeasurable. How thankful I am that I chose to take His stretched out hand. I wish I could tell you the woman lived happily ever after, however, unlike a fairytale this story does not end here. Adjusting from rags to riches has it challenges, and I have much to learn. These are the stories, struggles and miracles of my new life; my walk with a King.

"If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation;
the old has gone, the new has come!"
II Corinthians 5:17
Fast Cars
I t kills my mom when I drive. She absolutely hates it! It’s not like I just started yesterday. I’ve driven more miles (crash free by the way) in the last decade than some people do their entire lives. Every time I drive across the States I think, Now she’ll trust me
. However, to this day, she’s yelling my name and stomping the invisible brake on the passenger’s side floor. It’s just a reaction, I assume, but realistically it’s not doing the floor any favors to keep stomping it over and over again and it sure isn’t transfer-ring any of the control over to her. It’s so frustrating to know where to go and how to get there, with a passenger that’s half-panicked. (As if I just hopped in a 747 and announced, Prepare for takeoff! Now where’s the start button on this thing?
)
How many times have I done that though? I’ll be riding along in a situation with my King in the driver’s seat, and the second He takes a corner I panic, stomp the floor and do everything to fight against where I’m at, the entire time acting as though He’s never driven before. We’ve even been on an oval track doing the same left turn over and over again and I’ve still given Him the amateur treatment. How insulting that must be. It’s a belittling feeling when someone undermines my abilities-and I’m no expert.
