About this ebook
Raymond K. Sweeney
I was born in 1986 in San Juan, Puerto Rico and grew up on the island of Montserrat until the age of 18. I realized that I enjoyed creative writing at a young age. At the age of 10, I won the Conde" Naste essay competition on tourism competition in Montserrat in 1997. Later on I took an interest in writing song lyrics and have been doing so for a few years. At 15, I wrote my first poem as a joke - it was a test between a few friends and myself about who can have the best ‘lyrics’ to impress a girl. After that challenge, poetry stuck with me. I took a peculiar interest in word play and trying my utmost best to paint pictures with them. An art form that I have heard being done by many. After moving to England to continue my studies, I also kept my love of music and poetry. Over the years I have worked to refine my skills through writing and pushing my imagination to its limits. It’s one of the things that I really do have a passion for......writing. I have read my poetry to friends and they’ve enjoyed my work and I enjoy bringing this feeling to as many people as possible. The basis of my writing lays in my ability to explore a variety of experiences - both personal and vicarious and be able to put into words what others can't. Writing poetry is a very good form of relaxation for me.

Heart of a Poet - Raymond K. Sweeney
A Lonely Ring
She doesn’t want to leave; she doesn’t want to stay,
She doesn’t want to be with me for another day.
She lists all my faults; it’s like being hit by a train,
The list only seems to get longer as my head hangs in shame.
She doesn’t think I’ve tried; my all fell short,
Gifts only make one feel as if they were being bought.
I feel like I want to cry but the tears feel lost,
Realizing that everything that you’ve built have come to naught.
I don’t know what to do; I don’t know what to say,
There’s nothing I can do to make her even look this way.
My mind is so confused; I thought I was the one,
Inseparable like I’m her moon she’s my sun.
Couldn’t think of nothing wrong; I hope the rain continues when I’m home,
And to think… . I was just about to propose.
A Lonely Ring
(Part 2)
The rain crashed against my window
like the breaking of a wave,
The dry tears that spared me a bit of dignity came trickling down my face.
I swore never to love another because a bother it became,
But to recover from a lover is another horror in this phase.
I pictured a life that we both can truly live,
I desired such a wife to be framed in this picture with.
The one I needed was her; truly she is special,
I gaze at this ring which holds no finger; it has become nothing but a piece of metal.
The value has been taken;
its life purpose has been flawed,
The mirror reflects pity; a broken individual who’s scarred.
I don’t know what to do; there isn’t any, who could help,
As I look I see her photos neatly lined across the shelf.
Photos on the dresser, the walls and in my wallet,
I offered her my all; as long as she’s happy she could have it.
My eyes filled up with tears as I stared at the ring,
Even if she didn’t love me for me;
it’s such a beautiful thing.
A Love Question
Passion is a thing that we all grow to love and enjoy,
Sexual fantasies always have room to employ.
Let me kiss your lips—let me feel the softness
of your skin,
Our love moves like a blade of grass in the wind.
My fingers explore your body
perfectly—every curve and crevice,
Hands sliding up your thighs fulfilling a sex fetish.
Situated underneath—that’s where your body is,
As I rest between your legs—what
joy does the body brings?
Thrust gently deep within you—now we are
moving at the hips,
Gasping for air and deep breaths
I hear escaping your lips.
Your hands firmly on my back
then escalating to my neck,
I move lips slowly going over your breasts.
Blow behind your ear and little bites just for spite,
This
