About this ebook
Sanford decided long ago, while attempting his first back flip, that everyone in this world is capable of the most amazing things when they set their hearts and minds to it. Sanford has influenced thousands of everyday people, athletes and performers with his unique way of making people feel great about themselves and helping them to see that if they really want to, they can change their circumstances by changing their minds. He assists everyone he comes across to see that their greatest lessons in life come from not judging or beating themselves up when they make mistakes, but by really listening and being open to all of the joy and the love that they are undoubtedly surrounded by.
Sanford is a dynamic speaker, cheerleading coach, singer, dancer, acrobat and choreographer. He is the Founder and Director of his own cheerleading business, Cheersport Australia, as well as a graduate of both the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York and the National Institute of Circus Arts in Melbourne, Australia. Sanford has been both an inspirational speaker and teacher at several high schools and universities throughout Australia, and has inspired countless students and adults to step up to their greatest potential by setting and achieving their goals and making on purpose choices every day.

Thoughts And Affirmations
When, at the age of eight, a debilitating disease took his mother away, Sanford’s search for meaning began.
This remarkable man’s search may never end, yet his insights into life keep emerging. In this book he shares his revealed wisdom—so far.
Preface
My life began to take on a sense of purpose at the age of thirteen. While my friends looked no further than the next team match, the latest movie, or the new girl at school, I found myself pondering how best to shape my own future and those of my sisters.
Like all of us, it was my early childhood that placed me on the starting blocks of life. How I acted out my passion for life would drive me forward—or backward. How I came to think so far ahead of my age was the result of two facets: first, the events of my early life, and second, moral bequests handed to me by some remarkable people. As with other fortunate people, some of those who gave me the best teaching to shape my life also shared my blood.
My mother, Katherine McMurray, died from lupus at the age of twenty-six. I was only eight years old. Living to raise us was denied her. I recall the hollowness inside me, the disbelief that my mother was really gone. But I also recall a woman with fire and passion in her soul, who worked hard when she could, loved to party, smoke, drink RC Cola—a woman of endless love, who would do anything in her power for my two sisters and me.
My grandmother, Ellis Yancy, was Katherine’s mother. She watched her daughter suffer in pain for years and, at the end, cling helplessly to life for the sake of three children. But life was to demand even more of Ellis. She faced a harsh battle with cancer and struggled with the twin demons of alcoholism and depression. But we, her grief-ravished children, would remain her primary concern.
Having lived with us during our mother’s many hospital stays, she became our natural parent after our mother’s death. She was with us during the bad days, nurturing us as death gradually moved in to claim our mother. However, she was not our legal parent and therefore, when our father remarried, eventually we had to move to his home. Like many children in that situation, we suffered the agonies of not belonging. We needed help. But there was none. I was a thirteen-year-old with a mountain to climb, no ropes, no experience, but with a heart full of love and determination.
My sisters Terri and Stacy took this journey with me. Terri has struggled with many emotional dramas
