    TO MY

    LORD AND SAVIOUR

    JESUS CHRIST

This book is not only for my son, Joshua, in remembrance of him, but so that Jesus Christ can be glorified. Things I don’t understand now I will someday. I could have never got through this without Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior. He is the head of my life. And I know he loves us so much. God is real, and one day the Lord will receive me home, and I want to stand before my Heavenly Father with no shame.

In memory of my precious son Joshua – and for Michael Flaherty and his family who shared him with me

    WOMENS AGLOW MEETING

    sepa.jpg

I conceived Joshua in November of 1985. He was due August 12, 1986. Close to the end of my pregnancy, I started having dreams that my baby would look different. I would wake up thinking what the dream meant. I had the same dream at least three times. In the dream my baby’s eyes would not look normal. I would be talking to a friend of mine named Kim, about the dream. I would tell her in my dream my baby didn’t look like any of us. It would never scare me or anything it would just make me curious. Then two weeks before he was born I went to a Women’s Aglow Meeting. This is where a group of Christian women get together once a month, for lunch and listen to a guest speaker. The speaker that day was named Nancy. After she finished speaking she asked if anyone desired prayer. I went up for prayer, and I can remember when Nancy prayed for me, she said The Lord said that I was carrying a miracle baby, and he would be a special child to the family. I walked away thinking that she used the term he but it could still be a girl. That after three boys she would be a miracle and be very special. My heart desire was for this baby to be a girl. Later on about a week, I started saying I felt like my heart desire was changing. Maybe I would want another boy. I know now God was changing my heart desire preparing me for what He had planned for me.

    MY TRIP TO THE HOSPITAL

    sepa.jpg

Danny took me to Iowa City, Iowa, on August 3rd. The hospital wanted me there early, two weeks before my due date. As I got closer to the hospital I felt a little nervous, because I was going to be alone and the hospital was a pretty big place. My husband, Danny, wasn’t able to stay with me because of his job and the kids, so he left me there on Sunday.

Monday through Thursday I started feeling sick. I couldn’t eat very well. Friday came and some ladies that I had come to know while I was staying at the hospital, decided to go shopping. We were all pregnant and big bellied. We decided to walk to the Shopping Center. Can you imagine people starring? Here are all these big bellies walking together down the street.

While we were out shopping I started having some contractions, but they were not to close together. One of my friends Diane came up with the idea to see a friend at one of the stores. The store she was talking about had all these stairs and Diane said that we had to climb them in order
