      PREFACE

      We are all special and unique personalities, created to accomplish excellent purpose in life. The ability to attain this excellent purpose is what I call greatness. The understanding of this vital truth and living in this premise is highly important, it will help you to pursue your quest for greatness and believing the possibility even when there are challenging factors that tend to truncate this dream of greatness.

      Greatness is for all; no one is without something inside him to make him great. The problem is that many people just find it difficult to understand this truth, that there is something in them that is unique, that only they bear the genetic identity for that special assignment. The lack of this first call of self-discovery is a drawback to greatness. Until this barrier is broken you cannot make any remarkable impart in this life that we can call greatness.

      Over the years, I have interacted with so many people in my secular and spiritual work and discovered that many do not see themselves carrying greatness in them and some who quest for greatness do not know how to accomplish greatness due to one drawback or the other.

      This book THE PRICE FOR GREATNESS was given birth as a result of the various drawbacks confronting the desire to be great in any chosen endeavor in life. The book is practically written to give courage to anyone questing for greatness and to guide all those who are already in the path to greatness, so that they can arrive safely at the platform of greatness. If you can practically follow the various principles in this book, you can be sure that you can turn this dream of greatness to a reality in your life.

      I hope that through this medium you will discover the truth that will help you create, pursue and accomplish that lasting joy for yourself and those around you in the place of greatness.

      INTRODUCTION

      Nothing is free in this world. For you to have anything whatsoever you must have to pay for it yourself or someone will have to pay for it for you to have it. Quite unfortunate the irony of life remains unchanged, that no body is ready to pay for you to achieve your desired greatness.

      Greatness is the desire of every sane individual, yet without paying the necessary price, you cannot get to this platform. The basic challenge therefore lies in your ability to bear your responsibility as regarding achieving your greatness.

      Indeed paying the price for you to achieve greatness is inevitable. Apart from this truth you must also be aware that you must pay this price at the right place and at the right time, otherwise you cannot say you will definitely achieve greatness as you expected. So many people are daring to achieve greatness in life, they have refused to leave this world without leaving a footprint that others would want to place their foot, but somehow they are still struggling with this desire. The reason or reasons are different, why this ultimate desire has not been attained by these individuals; each individual has his or her own drawback or what stands as an obstacle for not attaining this desire to be great. Yet they can be conquered if addressed with the right solution.

      Greatness requires much because once attained the individual becomes an icon to reckon with in that field. So it will be a mere dream or wish for anyone who desire this noble position not to be ready to pay the price that is attached to this vision

      My objective for writing this book; is first to explain what is greatness? Secondly, to review the price necessary for greatness, thirdly, to make individuals know how they can equip themselves to fulfill the desire to be great and lastly that greatness is in everyone.

      This is not a book for any particular sect, but for all who have a burning desire to be great in any area of their life, ranging from secular to spiritual endeavors. It is written in such a simplified manner that anyone can read and understand the very basics regarding the price to pay to attain this desire of greatness.

      I hope you will find this book useful as you practically explore the possibilities therein. It will expose to you what greatness is, the price to pay to achieve greatness and to sustain greatness in your life. Achieve your greatness as you journey through the path of true greatness and remain blessed.

      CHAPTER ONE

      WHAT IS GREATNESS?

      Greatness is an inner potential in everybody; it is achieved when you are able to discover your source, which empowers you to spend time, think creatively and add Good work to turn this inner potential to greatness.

      If you properly consider the above, there are five (5) important statements that I want you to pay attention to. They are these:

      Let me briefly dwell on each of the above mentioned five (5) key factors you must pay attention to.

      INNER POTENTIAL IN EVERYBODY

      All men are created with an inner Gem (abilities and talents) to make them great. Your ability to discover and manifest this Gem is the difference between great men and other men in life. Every body is gifted in one area or the other different from the other fellow. There is no body without an inner potential that the individual can turn into greatness. If you will be very sincere to yourself, you will discover that there is at least one thing that you do better than another person and you derive joy doing it.

      Your ability to discover that gifting or talent in you is one of the links to your greatness in life. Most people who do well at what they are engaged in today never knew they can do well in these areas initially, but as they discovered that inner ability and strength in them, they dwell in it and developed themselves to the point of becoming an icon in that sector of life.

      You can become great in that area of live that you desire to dwell, if you can discover your inner potentials and explore them adequately. The major question here is, have you discovered your inner potential? Until that is achieved you may not be able to find your place in destiny to attain your quest to become great. Consider this word from the Bible.

      A man’s gift maketh room for him and bringeth him before great men. KJV (Proverbs 18:26)

      Your gift (call it talent or ability) is what brings you to the same platform with great men. There is an example to this case, let me show you, this is to make it more pragmatic. Take your time to read the entire book of Daniel chapter two (2) so as to get the full understanding of the issue that occurred. However, my focus is on Daniel 2:48

      Then the king made Daniel a great man, and gave him many great gifts, and made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon, and chief of the governors over all the wise men of Babylon. KJV (Daniel 2:48)

      Daniels’ gift brought him into limelight and into greatness.

      There is another case of the individual named Joseph. His gift also brought him out of prison and made him great. In Genesis chapter forty one (41) you will get the entire story, but let us consider verses thirty nine through forty one.

      And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art. Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou. And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, see, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt KJV (Genesis 41:39-41)

      It was the inner potential in Joseph that was at work here, he was able to give solution that others have no answer to. In both cases above, the two persons—Daniel and Joseph were brought into limelight and greatness because of the gift or ability to understand
