I loved it and everything about it I just wish there was a more instructional/step by step part about unblocking/cleansing the chakras individually

Father’s Words

Latia Phillips-Bey is a soft-spoken, compassionate, and loving person. She has a mind of a scholar and a heart of gold, because she cares about the welfare of others as well as herself. I have known Latia since the first time she opened her eyes at birth and am proud to say I am her biological father.

When Latia was a young child, between the ages of one and five, I noticed she was very happy and playful. She always seemed to get along well with other children. I thought of her as Daddy’s little angel, wanting to follow me everywhere I went. Latia has always been a charming and loving child, who showed love and affection for her family. When I received Latia’s report cards from grade school, I always smiled, because her grades were always above average. This exemplifies the type of person Latia would soon become—above average because of her distinct desire and determination not to let any obstacles interfere with her destiny.

When Latia became a teen, she experienced some difficult times. I began to recognize a change in her attitude. She was becoming more conscientious, inquisitive, and challenging about many things. I could see a major change in my daughter’s life and could not determine at that moment if it was a normal or radical change. As time went by, I learned Latia was different to a degree, because she saw many things from a different perspective, through a spiritual eye, per se, the second birth (spiritual), which I was not there to see. This is why some people, including myself, could not understand the marvelous change. Instead, we perceived it as arrogant and indifferent.

Latia has never stopped being herself. She continues to strive for the best, going on to receive many college degrees, still displaying the above-average person she is. I feel I know my daughter so well that if Latia were to sum up her life in words, she would say, If I can help somebody along the way, my living would not be in vain. Latia has been a joy, inspiration, and loving daughter to me, and this lets me know I am truly blessed.

Mother’s Words

I always wanted my first child to be a girl, and the Lord blessed me with one. Latia was born on September 12, 1974, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. I was twenty-four years of age when she came into the physical realm. My water broke on the ninth of September, but she didn’t come until three days later, weighing 8 pounds. She was such a beautiful baby, with no hair; she looked like a doll. The first girl in her father’s family, everyone was ecstatic with her arrival.

From day one, she had a personality of her own. Latia was very determined and independent from an early age. She walked before the age of one, and her first words were daddy and keys. Her father and I knew then she would be the type of person to take the driver’s seat in life. Always excelling in school, she was a very intelligent child who I am very proud of to this day. Everything she said she would do as a teenager she has done. She worked hard and graduated from high school only to keep going until she received her master’s degree. She is a very spiritual young lady who prays every single morning and night. This is why the Lord has blessed her dearly. She has a wonderful family, which includes a very good husband and two gifted, spiritual children. I wish my daughter continued success in whatever she does, and I thank the Lord for giving me such a spiritual and gifted daughter.

Acknowledgments

I give praise to God/dess for my life. I thank the divine messenger, Esu/Ganesh, for opening doors that from my human eyes appeared to be closed. This book is dedicated to my guardian angels, Orunmila and Oshun, who brought me through storms even when I didn’t know of their existence, and to my Ancestors, who continue fighting my battles from the spiritual realm. I will forever be your humble servant.

Special thanks to my birth parents, Gregory Earl Wheeler and Sharon Lynne Goodrum, for being obedient to the calling of bringing me into existence in the physical realm. I give thanks to my confidante, Jahnél Jeter, who is truly an inspiration to me and a true Angel sent to watch over me while on this journey called life.

My husband, Kumar Bhushan Phillips-Bey Sr., who never once complained about all the time I spent writing this book. Kumar, you are part of my soul essence, and I am your rib. Together we prevail as children of God. I am honored and grateful to be sharing this journey with you, my soul mate.

My children, Kumar Jr. and Brea, Mommy loves you guys with all my heart.

I would also like to give a very special thank you to my sister-friend, Laura Chonko, who has shown me that friendship and sisterhood have no color. You have been such a great support and inspiration in my life. Thanks for your tremendous help on the book and your constructive criticism.

Last but not least, I thank everyone I have crossed paths with in life, for you have all been teachers and played significant parts in my growth. Thanks for the lessons taught and experiences gained.

May the love of God be forever in our hearts.

May it be so!

Introduction

In the book of Revelation in the Holy Bible, there were seven churches of God named Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea. This coincides with the seven major healing energy points of the human body—the seven chakras. These seven energy centers, in turn, coincide with seven jewels of faith in the Islamic religion, noted in the Holy Qu’ran as (1) humility, (2) avoidance of vanity in word and deed, (3) charity, (4)
