About this ebook

The book portrays a literal rugs-to-riches story of a young girl who went from being a child-slave, to a successful professional. Told from a first person viewpoint, it takes the reader on an emotinal and at times humourous journey, from the plains of rural Zimbabwe, to the built up cities of the United Kingdom.

I would like to dedicate this book to my family. Firstly my husband Paul, my children Raymond, Jonathan, my one and only daughter Mercy and her husband Abel, my little best friend yet a son, Kingdom and to my grandchildren Mandy, Tandy, and Trust, for all the inspiration and support they gave during the writing of this book. May the Lord bless them all. To my dear sister Dade, for your love, care and support all through my childhood, may the Lord God Almighty enlighten your future and expand your territories to the very ends of the earth forevermore for you are and shall forever be so dear to me.

My special thanks go to my Pastors Tony and Pastor Bile and their wives and children, and the congregations they lead, for standing with me in prayer and support during these difficult times.

May I also thank the publishers who made it possible for this book to reach its readers for whom it has been purposed, and the readers themselves to whom this testimony will change their lives. May God bless you mightly.

I honestly needed this support for at times it has been very emotional reflecting to the past and the present. May I therefore congratulate the reader for having been so obedient enough to read this book for it is truly destined for you. It is meant to bring hope to the hopeless, strength to the weak, love to the hated, faith to the faithless, encouragement to the down hearted to run their race across the line, and faint not for in due season they shall reap the goodness of the Lord here in the land of the living, and to admonish one another in testimony—edifying one another in comfort, praise and worship. You will also learn to forgive and forget the things of the past, for the past is gone forever and only belongs to where it is, but your future is more important. Here we shall notice how the writer overcame Satan by the special grace of the almighty God, and teach one another how to live a Godly life—for HE said: Love yea one another as I have loved you… He who hates his brother hates me. To the one who has a broken heart, in order to receive comfort and healing to the spirit man, i.e. the innermost of your-self. Position yourself therefore now as you enjoy reading along and choose whom you are going to listen to and worship, God who is love, or Satan the deceiver of mankind and the king of liars as taught by John in the book of Revelation 12 v 9. Did you know that the crown of glory awaits them who endure temptation, for when approved He will crown them with the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. James 1 v 12 tells us clearly about this promise. The choice is yours! Make your decision right now.

I have decided to forget the past and focus on the future, to follow Jesus, who has given me peace that surpasses all understanding and gave me joy unspeakable, beauty for ashes, shaking hands even with the principalities of the land of the living, i.e. Government Ministers who crowned me with an apprenticeship credentials and an award for overcoming all odds. If God did it for me, He can do it for you! He is no respecter of persons, I pray that the Holy Spirit brings you to that place of peace, reverence, fear and trust in the Lord, to worship Him alone and praise His Holy Name. May his will be done on earth as it is in Heaven and may your circumstances not dictate your future. Listen to God as He speaks to you and let Him have His way in your life. You will be surprised to know and witness how much He has in store for you. His plans are always higher than ours and His aim is to prosper us. Blessed be His Holy Name. He is great and He loves us as His own children created of His own image.

He loves you and He cares.

    Peace be with you.

    Amen!
