The Journey Begins
Ten years ago, there was a car crash. I was only four years old, and my dad was taking me to a park. Suddenly a truck ran over our car. I survived, but my dad didn’t. I wasn’t hurt badly, but partially lost my memory. I had a slight memory of my dad in the car crash. It just seemed that in the car crash, my dad simply disappeared.
My mom thought I was suffering mentally and hired a psychologist, but test results proved that I was a fully healthy human.
Exactly one year from now, my father would be declared legally dead. They searched for my father, not knowing if he was dead or alive. But they’re sure he could not survive ten years without any sign.
My mom had never lost hope and kept on searching with all the money she had. But when she found out that we were almost broke, she said that the search would be over in a year.
I can understand that my father would be declared legally dead in a year, but something sounds unfinished to me. In the car crash, my dad’s body was nowhere to be found. The crash happened beside the hospital, but his body was nowhere near the hospital. So it seemed to me that maybe he is still alive. Recently I had found a letter written by my dad to me. My mod told me that it was found in the car on the day the accident happened. She had kept it since in her jewelery box safely not knowing what it really meant. It said that there were many things in this world that we thought never existed and if I could learn all that and search for him I would find him.
I knew my dad was telling the truth even though it sounded insane. So I decided to do as it is said in the letter, to search for him for he was my father.
In the letter, my dad had given me a clue how I should start the search. It said that I had to find a witch living in Africa. But he didn’t tell me where.
I figured the best place to begin to track down something that was both tricky and historical was the Legendarios Library. That was the biggest library on our street in New York.
I learned that a mythical witch used to live in the Sahara Desert, the biggest desert on earth. I believed that she existed because I read that there were several kidnappings around the area where the witch used to live.
I knew I had to be very wise because the books said that there would be a lot of trouble finding the witch. She will not show herself until you pass her test, but if she thinks that you will be good help to her, she makes an exception.
Knowing that I was risking my life, I went home and didn’t dare to tell my mom. So that led me to using all my saved allowances to buy a ticket to go to Africa. I packed my stuff and went to bed, and the next day I embarked on my journey.
After about a day, I reached Libya and started traveling through the Libyan Desert. That was where things got a little weirder. I could hear different footsteps. It sounded like I was walking on a huge box, but that wasn’t the main thing that scared me; the thing that scared me was the voices I was hearing saying,
"To find the witch, be almighty strong;
Without your knowledge, you’ll go all wrong."
Feeling a little scared, I stopped so I could catch my breath and get back to reality. After relaxing myself for few minutes, I continued my journey. I was able to see a sign way ahead of me. I looked at my compass and figured I was going the right direction.
As I got closer to the sign, it started looking like it was written in blood. When I stood there, I read The chamber of death.
Immediately I fell through the sand, and suddenly I was in a dark room. I wasn’t scared of the dark. What made it scary was that the whole room was all covered in blood.
As I walked through a hallway, I reached a separation point. Which should I choose? Left? Or right?
I picked right, thinking it would lead me to the witch.
As soon as I turned right, there was a door. When I opened it, I was in an illusion.
For some time, I wondered whether I should do something or wait until something magically happened.
Then I realized that I was stepping on sand, and I realized I was in Egypt.
I had studied all about Egypt ever since I was ten, so I knew I had gone to one of the most well-known places in the world: the pyramids. I had forgotten that this was all the witch’s plan.
As I tried to enjoy my moment in Egypt, I went to the pyramids and found the entrance. There I found something really hard to take
