About this ebook

Jairus and the woman with the issue of blood were people who lived in Jesus time. They were desperate until they met the Master, but when they met Jesus Christ, He changed their lives and gave them hope. Whenever one meets Jesus Christ and accepts Him as their Lord and Savior, their life changes because one cannot meet Jesus Christ and leave the same as they were. Take a look inside and see how the Lord worked in these two precious lives.

    INTRODUCTION

They were desperate for their lives,

They were desperate so they came to Christ.

They tried so many things till the Lord they came to,

He was the only One Who brought them through.

They were desperate till they came to Christ.

(Chorus Written by Ruby E. Pruitt)

In today’s society, it seems we have more trouble in our lives than in previous days gone by. The fact is that trials and struggles have existed for human beings ever since Adam and Eve took a bite of the forbidden fruit. Because of the devil and sin in our lives, we will continue to have problems whether they be physical, emotional or spiritual until our life on Earth is ended. If we know Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, then our soul will go to everlasting joy and happiness. Those souls who do not know Him will tragically be condemned to eternal punishment without escape.

When we get into a particular situation we may feel that we are the only ones who have suffered like this, but that is not the case. We all go through discouraging times when we lose hope and feel there is no way out. If you have ever had a time in your life when it seemed everything was constantly going all wrong until you just couldn’t take it anymore and you became desperate for a solution or a way out, then you can relate to the people in this book. If you have ever felt or are feeling that way now, I hope when you finish reading this book that you will have answers to help you better understand your situation and that you will have hope in your heart as you determine to trust the Lord.

It is not by mistake that this book came into your life. I believe that God has a divine appointment for everything that happens in our lives and that things don’t just happen without a reason. Before you go any further, I encourage you to stop right now and pray to the Lord. Ask Him to reveal the truth(s) that He wants you to know. Then dive in for what I hope will be new insights and a new way of looking at Scripture.

The purpose of this book is two-fold. One, to encourage you and hopefully give you new insights about people Jesus healed. The second purpose is to challenge you to determine to live your life for the Lord and to not just trust Him, but praise Him through those times of trial and hardship. As you read through this book, take your time, especially when you see Scripture. I have included a lot of Scripture, but there are places where I reference verses. Please take the time to look these verses up and see for yourself what thus says the Lord.

Please note that references to the Lord will be capitalized while any reference to the devil will be in lower case. These are deliberate spellings and are not typographical errors. I highly respect my Lord and am thankful to Him for all He has done not just for me, but for the sake of all humanity. In contrast, I feel the devil is not even worth capitalization of his name nor any reference to him.

All Scripture references are from the King James Version of the Bible. I know there are a lot of translations out there, but I simply prefer to use the King James Version and trust God to give me His guidance as I study. This version has been with me since I got saved and has carried me through many trials. I have nothing against the other translations so long as they point out that Jesus is The Christ and that the only way into Heaven is through His precious blood that He shed on Calvary for us. Sometimes we need to take God’s Word at face value and a lot of what you read in this book will be just that.

I make no claim to be anyone other than a sinner saved by the grace of God. I know He is real and have no doubt that one day I will see Him face to face. I hope you will too. So why did I choose to write this book? Let’s just say that the Lord has taken me through many lessons in learning to walk with Him and He placed this upon my heart to encourage others.

I hope you will see my excitement and love for the Lord as you read! Please feel free to look me up on Facebook and leave a comment after you are finished reading this book. Especially if you have been encouraged and your life changes as a result of something you may have read. My only goal with this book is to encourage you in the Lord.

Finally, I wish to thank Reverend Matthew A. Zimmerman, Jr. (Pastor of First Baptist Church in Warrenton, Virginia), and Dr. Decker H. Tapscott, Sr. (Pastor of Faith Christian Church and International Outreach Center in Warrenton, Virginia), for their words of encouragement. I also would like to thank my friend, Fran Cecere, who leads our Pen-to-Paper writers’ group, (The Windmore Foundation for the Arts, Culpeper, Virginia), for her encouragement as well.

May the Lord bless you and encourage you as you read.

    CHAPTER 1

    A Comparison Of The Gospels

This book began one night at a revival service. The message that night was about the woman with the issue of blood. I barely heard the message itself though because as we read the Scripture verses that night, the Lord spoke to my heart and began opening my eyes to a whole new realization that I had never considered before. He began revealing to me how things were at the time when that woman needed to touch Jesus for healing. I could hardly wait to get home that night and at eleven p.m. I began writing what I thought was a message about the woman with the issue of blood; but the more I wrote, the more I realized that this particular Scripture was not just about the woman with the issue of blood. Jairus and the woman were connected in their needs. Let’s do a little investigative research to see the story as it may have unfolded. We need to look at all three references to this particular story as found in Matthew 9:19-22, Mark 5:22-42 and Luke 8:41-56. It is like an investigator getting three different accounts of the same scene. One may have seen something over here that the others did not see. Mark and Luke are very similar in their accounts, but Matthew left quite a few details out. A good investigator will be able to piece all of the information together and come up with the facts. Some people I know believe that Mark and Luke did not see the actual miracles Jesus did. They believe Mark and Luke got their information from the other disciples. All I know and believe is that if all the books of the Bible were not breathed of God, He would not have allowed them to be included as part of His Holy Word. I choose not to debate that issue because if the Lord wanted us to know, He would have certainly made it clear as to how they got their information. I present to you what I see in God’s Holy Word. You decide for yourself what you choose to
