This is an autobiographical and a historical nonfiction piece of literature written by a twenty-eight year retired reading teacher who endured many trials and tribulations known today as bullying only because she wanted to attend the high school that was in close proximity of her home. Breaking the race barrier will raised the hairs on the back of your neck and bring tears to your eyes as you relive those abhorrent acts of hatefulness as described by the author. The audience range is from preteens through adults. The purpose is to eradicate bullying and implement acts of kindness in an effort to make this a better world to live. The historical aspect is based upon the fact that if we dont know our history, we are doomed to repeat it. There are letters, news articles, and photographs that will carry you back to the good old days which turn out to be the not so good at all days. The autobiographical aspect of this book will have you sitting on the edge of your seat. This could be a tell-all presentation if you have the where with all to read between the lines. See if you can find the double whammy that was thrust upon a seventeen year old known as one of the seventeen. Isnt it amazing that the main character is seventeen and also known as one of the famous seventeen? This piece might have you wondering if this is a spy novel? She does live a double life and will have you wondering who is 007 and why did she have to encompass all these electrifying episodes? You will find yourself in her shoes and figuring out how you would solve some of the problems as you travel through her life. This work of art will not solve this horrible act of humiliation , however it will make you get on the bandwagon of annihilating bullying. This book is unique because it is up to you take into consideration what this author did to help start the ball to roll over bullying and now it is up to keep it rolling until bullying is out of existence. We can do it! We can do it!
Dr. Delores Johnson Brown
Meet Dr. DELORES JOHNSON BROWN, she is a wife, mother, and a twenty-eight year retired educator. She has taught elementary, middle school, and as an adjunct professor at Norfolk State University, her undergraduate alma mater. She earned three graduate degrees at Old Dominion University. She has attended William and Mary University and the University of Virginia. She is retired after a successful and fruitful career in education with the Norfolk Public Schools as a Communication Skills Specialist. An active community volunteer and civic organizer, she is a dedicated member of several organizations, most of them she is the chaplain, including The Links, Moles, Chums, Norfolk Alumnae Chapter of Deltas, Drifters, president of the Holidays Bridge Inc., and Eastern Stars Prince Hall Affiliation. She holds membership at Saint Paul’s United Methodist Church as a Lay Leader, and is a recipient of numerous awards. She has been featured in several documentaries; Edward R. Murrow, 1958, WAVY TV, WHRO TV, NORVIEW H.S. 2008-2009, Ed Show MSNBC And, LOCKED OUT, The Fall of Massive Resistance. It was developed at the University of Virginia Center for Politics, WCVE & WHTJ. She has been featured on the cover of two magazines: Crisis Summer 2009, VOL 116/3 and Old Dominion U. Graduate Studies. Her hobbies are traveling, reading, crossword puzzles, bridge, and bowling. She has traveled to most of the states in the U.S.A., and some foreign countries such as Africa, Canada, England, Japan, and Paris. The most recent and enjoyable event of her life was her last birthday celebration held at the Greenbrier Country Club in Chesapeake, VA where she resides with her husband, Allen Brown Sr. Dr. Brown’ life is filled with excitement and bullying.

Let’s Get Acquainted
Dear Family and Friends
Even though some of you are meeting me for the first time, I already consider you my friend, not just an acquaintance. Nobody is a stranger to me and it won’t be long before you’ll be convinced that we really are friends. My name is Dr. Delores Johnson Brown. I was born Delores Johnson on March 20, 1942 at City Hospital in Baltimore, MD.
I retired from Norfolk Public Schools in 1996, after completing twenty-eight years. I was a Reading Specialist and an educational specialist.
My mother was Mrs. Sarah Catherine Goodman Johnson born on May 16, 1915 in Clinton, NC. She passed on January 1, 1981. She resided in Portsmouth, Virginia. She retired from the Norfolk Virginia Air Station. My father was Mr. Albert Harold Johnson born on January 28, 1914 in Clinton, NC. He passed on April 15, 1949. He served in the U. S. Navy and was stationed in Norfolk, VA. There were six children in my family. My brother, Lyndell Johnson was the oldest, born on October 8, 1931in Clinton, N.C. He expired on May 16, 2009, on my mother’s birthday. He retired from the U. S. Army and the U. S. Postal Service. Next, was Mrs. Frances Adelaide Johnson Holland who was the oldest girl and was born on July 9, 1935 in Wilmington, N.C. She expired on March 10, 1985. She retired from the Bendix Corporation as an electrical engineer. She resided in Newark, NJ. My second brother, James Lewis Johnson, nick named Jit. He was born on April 4, 1938 in Wilmington, N.C. He expired in 1963. He resided in Boca Raton, FL. He served in the U. S. Air Force. My third brother was Carl Harold Johnson, born on January 29, 1940 in Baltimore, MD. He expired on November 5, 1981, the same year that I lost my mother, in Portsmouth, VA. He served in the U. S. Air Force too. My baby sister is Sharon Baker, born on November 7, 1954. She resides in Portsmouth, VA. and is a residential engineer. Well, you’ve met my first family let’s move on to my second or immediate family.
I am married to Mr. Allen B. Brown Sr. who was born on December 8, 1937 in Norfolk, VA. He retired from the United States Postal Service as a Manager of Distribution Operations. We had three sons and they all were born in Norfolk, VA. The first one is Allen B. Brown Jr. who was born on January 14, 1960. He lives in the same neighborhood as we do now, on Plantation Lakes Circle in Chesapeake, VA. Our second son was Alvalon Brown who was born on August 7, 1961 and he expired on December 14, 2010. Our baby boy is Altonio
