      There are seven points I would like to note before we begin our journey:

      1. Use of certain words or phrases in italics to emphasize awareness.

      2. Capital letters or quotation marks to reflect valuable meaning.

      3. Phrases or quotes used from ancient texts are not suggesting anyone embrace its belief system, but simply to highlight a point.

      4. Whenever the word Man is used to reference mindsets as a whole it is referring to Mankind or Humankind.

      5. Small portions of text may be found reiterated in order to stress important observations.

      6. Terms used for God may include: Divine Source, Divine Wisdom, Divine Intelligence, Divine Love, Energy, Spirit, Light, and Perfect Unconditional Love.

      7. Universal Awareness has been written in a style which allows each chapter to stand on its own. However, there is a level of continuity in order to keep the flow.

      INTRODUCTION

      The unexamined life is not worth living. Socrates

      The content of Universal Awareness encompasses forty years of research and various experiences consisting of knowledge and materials studied in religious traditions, a Bachelor and Masters in Theology, as well as working in various corporations and the film industry. It contains insights and understanding from my travels including an archaeological dig and also consists of personal observations and viewpoints.

      My objective is to present conscious awareness involving mindsets of individuals in reference to personal attitudes, conflicts, peace of mind, fears, respect for others, love, belief systems and world peace.

      It is not my intent to entangle individuals into arguments over their personal beliefs, however it is my heart and soul to cause us to pause and reflect upon the roots of why we believe what we believe, how we treat others, our decisions to hate and disapprove rather than love and accept, and perhaps why this can be a reflection of reasons peace in our world has evaded us. If these topics are of interest, it is my desire to bring greater awareness concerning them.

      The information and assessments are not intended to eradicate or influence anyone from their beliefs. It is strictly to introduce observations or viewpoints that a person may never have considered. I do apologize ahead of time if something is written which someone would find offensive as that is clearly not my intent. However, I must be true to my own convictions and inspirations while respecting those of others as well.

      In these chapters we will consider the possibility of living in peace and harmony together whether world, community, relational or personal, in other words, living in peace on all levels of life. It will speak to our conflicts including the potential for resolving them in different styles that may not have been previously contemplated or applied. I have endeavored to use simplified language in order to provide a broader base for all ages who desire to make a difference in the world.

      Each of us realizes that everyone has opinions and beliefs. It is my hope that Universal Awareness will bring a measure of peace within and a desire to assist in making our world a better place to live. We all have the ability to make positive transformations. If we simply apply unconditional love toward others pertaining to our disagreements we can accomplish major breakthroughs on earth. I hear so many voices clamoring for world peace, yet it evades us.

      One of the ways I felt I could personally be a part of implementing peace was to encourage others toward this goal. As I said earlier, it is a culmination of years of research and study along with experiences that bring these pages together. I realize some of my colleagues may be uneasy or in disagreement regarding these viewpoints and observations because it breaks from certain conventional concepts and dogmas.

      For these reasons it became a necessary step to implement the very principles contained within this material to overcome the personal fears that had been imbedded within me by certain persuasions and belief systems. In the end it was far more vital to become honest concerning my own integrity and confidence in what I was inspired to write.

      If it were not for knowing the true meaning of God is Love which is Perfect Unconditional Love along with support from those who knew they too could not deny their truth within, I would not have had the courage to complete this work. Just as studies have shown plants thrive and grow when given love and spoken to with positive words, so too is it with individuals when they receive love and encouraging affirmations.

      Lastly, I do touch on images and material I find blemished in areas of biblical interpretation when it comes to ancient texts, however, I do use specific phrases from them that uplift, validate and encourage individuals. Though they are few, after much prayer and meditation along with years of intensive research and study, I have adopted the ones which deeply resonate within my spirit confirming unconditional love.

      I believe they shed light in areas that are helpful to our spiritual growth and maturity, but not written to use God as a fearful beating stick toward humankind. I have taken pains to choose the ones I feel are most clear and reveal universal insights for mankind, especially when using those attributed to what Christ taught.

      I purposely do not include references that validate this belief or that belief because it creates a great deal of conflict, which is not my objective. I have personally discovered in life that those accounts in ancient writings intended for specific times in history, reflect statements where present-day facts or information prove otherwise and those used for allegorical purposes as a form of teaching should be done on a personal level by the individual and Divine Wisdom. It is up to that person to decipher and discern the difference. My motivation is not arguing texts but to enrich others on their path.

      In regards to rising above ego, overcoming fears, dealing with conflicts, achieving peace of mind, refining communication, unconditional love, set in stone beliefs, walking in light, finding our true self, or implementing peace in our world, if any of these topics are of interest, it is my desire for the pages of Universal Awareness to bring greater insights to these issues.

      A co-worker once said to me, Gini, I think you could love anybody. I have always valued that statement as I think he saw something in me I did not quite see in myself at the time. I believe that is how it is with God/Divine Love. He sees the potential in all of us and I hope by the time we get to the end of the Epilogue we will have discovered what Very Special Beings we are (what I term a VSB).
