About this ebook

Let us be inspired and motivated to change our
attitudes and adopt an attitude that will not only
bring joy and peace in our lives, but also bring
victory and enable us to become winners in all
circumstances. We all have God given destinies
to fulfi l and with the right attitude we can
fulfi l them.
This book is based on the four attitudes that
Jesus Christ displayed when He was on earth.
These are the attitudes that the Apostle Paul in
the Book of Philippians 2:111 urges us as Christians to adopt.
Practical examples which are based on daily life experiences have been
used to show that it is the very things that we often take for granted that
lead us to unwittingly portray ungodly attitudes that prevent us from living
the types of lives we are destined by God to live.
The four attitudes that we must adopt are the following:
Attitude of Love
Attitude of Humility
Attitude of Servanthood
Attitude of Obedience
Always remember that what seems to be impossible with man, it is possible
with God and by adopting a winning attitude of Jesus Christ we can do
all things!

    Introduction

Adopting an attitude of Christ? Where do I begin? Such a question may come from someone who has not yet met Jesus Christ nor accepted Him as the Lord and Saviour. The same questions may come from someone who has already met Jesus Christ and has received Him as the Lord and Saviour, but has never experienced an intimate relationship with Him.

Everybody wants to live a life full of joy and peace. Some people have heard that there is joy, peace, and victory in Christ. They have accepted Him as their Lord and Saviour, but because they have not had an intimate relationship with Him, they have not experienced this joy and peace that is found in Jesus Christ our Lord. They have not experienced the life of victory that is found in Him.

There was a time when I thought I knew Christ and called myself a Christian, when in real fact I did not know Him and was therefore not a Christian in the true sense of the word. It was during that time that I did not have the inner peace and joy in my heart that one experiences as a follower of Christ. I was walking with Christ but not walking intimately with Him. I only knew about His ways because I grew up reading the Bible and was raised under Godly principles, but I was clearly not walking in His footsteps.

At some point in my life, I felt a void and got very hungry for inner peace and joy in Christ. The Holy Spirit finally knocked some sense into my mind and heart by showing me that the inner peace and joy I was yearning for could only be found through walking intimately with Jesus Christ. It was only when I started walking intimately with Jesus Christ that I experienced inner peace that surpasses all understanding. I experienced joy in my heart and a life of victory.

This means that I now live a life full of joy even through trials and tribulations. I enjoy peace even during the greatest storms, and I come out victoriously in all challenges that I come across. As the Bible says in Psalm 34: 19, a righteous man may have many troubles but the Lord delivers him from them all.

I have learnt in my journey that trying to do things in my own way does not work. I have tried it many a time and failed dismally. The moment I started doing things in Christ’s way, all things became possible. That is what motivated me to strive to adopt an attitude of Jesus Christ because I realised that it is only through thinking and acting like Him that I am able to win in all situations. No matter how difficult the circumstances may be, no matter how challenging the situation, I just ask myself: what would Christ do in this situation? I then pray about the situation for Christ’s guidance on what He would have done and victory becomes mine.

Adopting an attitude of Christ has taught me to leave things that I do not have control over in God’s hands and trust Him to deal with them while I enjoy my perfect peace of mind and pressing on towards the goal prize of the upward calling of the Most High God. That way, I win in all situations for the glory of God.

Remember, though, that trials and tribulations will always be there, but with an attitude of Christ, you will be able to endure and ultimately overcome them. God will deliver you from all the troubles that you might face. You will continue to live a joyous and peaceful life no matter what comes your way and come out a winner in situations that you never thought possible. I am talking about the most difficult of situations in which once you come out victorious at the end, everyone will be bound to think: only God Almighty could have done that . . .

May the Holy Spirit guide, enlighten, and grant you a revelation as you move on towards changing your attitude and adopting one like Jesus Christ’s. I also pray that this will be a book that you will read over and over and use it for reference purposes. May it be a source of a constant reminder of your mission to change your attitude and adopt an attitude of Jesus Christ!

    Chapter 1

    Where Do We Begin?

Living a fulfilling life of joy, peace, and victory requires that you change the way you think and start adopting Jesus Christ’s way of thinking. When you start thinking like Jesus Christ, you will be able to act like Him. Acting like Him will surely lead you to being victorious just like Him.

Living this life of victory begins with Salvation. It begins by receiving Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. Salvation is the first step towards living a life that God has destined you to live.

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, a member of the Triune (God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit) was sent by the Father God to the world to die for our sins in order for us to be saved. We read from John 3: 16-17 that God loved the world so much that He gave His only begotten Son (Jesus Christ) that whoever believes in Him shall not die but have eternal life. God did not send His son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him be
