When I sat down to write this book, I had three different sets of readers in mind. The Young football Fan who I hope to introduce to the fascinating tapestry of the history and statistics of the Olympic Football Tournament, the older person who would want to be reminded of the great moments from the past and the hardcore aficionado of the beautiful game who needs a unique book like Olympic Football tournaments (1908-2008) - a statistical summary for record purposes and references. The task of putting together the content of this book was challenging and demanding, yet exciting, enriching and rewarding. In a way, it is the fulfilment of a long stnding ambition, since circumstances led me to discover pasion for the history ans statistics of global football.
