Just Dreaming: Poems
By Julie Ludbey
()
About this ebook
over a life time of many changes in circumstances.
Within these pages contain a mixture of happiness, fun and love,
along with tears, sadness and pain.
This year I made the hard decision to share these poems with others,
by publishing this book.
I hope that other people too, may relate to some of my life's experiences as they follow my journey of ups and downs,
through my life's heartaches and happiness,
written in poems in this book.
Julie Ludbey
I, Julie Ludbey, was born on 12.10.1968 in Queenstown, Tasmania, where I lived for twenty-five years. I had my first son at age eighteen, then a daughter and another son. In primary school I began to write short stories, poems and songs. My teacher put music to one of my songs and published it in our local primary school newspaper. I continued writing in high school and began writing novels when I became a stay at home mum. I have written many romance novels and hundreds of poems. I still live in Tasmania and still continue to write.

Dedication
To my three children who I love very much.
My daughter that is always been there for me.
My youngest son that is a great support to me.
Also my two sisters who are dear friends.
To Bambi who is my best friend and
The rest of my family who have been there for me.
This book was written for myself, by myself
Because everybody can be a somebody
We are all good at something.

My feet sink in the soft sand
My eyes look across the land
Pure white sand stretches for miles
I stand still and look for a while
The sea so beautiful and blue
My thoughts so pure and true
The wave’s crash upon the shore
They make a sound like a roar
I sit down on the Warm White Sand
I let the sand fall through my hand
It’s so peaceful and relaxing here
I love the fact that nobody’s near
I love the smell of the salty sea
I take a deep breath, I feel so free
I love the cool breeze in my hair
I look down the beach, no one is there
I sit here alone for a long, long while
Then I walk back slowly as I smile
The clean salt air has cleared my mind
I continue on, not once looking behind.
THE CAMPFIRE
The glow of The Campfire
Lit up the immediate area
Giving warmth to those surrounding it
The flames danced in the breeze
Turning the wood to ashes
The ashes floating peacefully in the air
The coals shone brightly adding more light
Smoke drifted upwards in search of the sky
Leaving the beauty of the fire
To flicker peacefully in the night
CAMPER BUS
We pull our Camper Bus up by the sea side
Us kids get out and run away, play and hide
Leaving our parents to set up the camp site
While we take advantage of the day light
We run along the beach bare feet in the sand
We then sit down filtering sand through our hand
We return to our camp site amongst the trees
Enjoying the views and the warm ocean breeze
I sit on the ground and a bullant bites my toe
I yell loudly I’ll be alright in an hour or so
We go swimming in the waves its lots of fun
Then we go to the playground when were done
At the end of the day we climb into our bunk bed
Happy to now lay down our tired and weary heads
Its great going to sleep in our big old bus so grand
We wake up in the morning and go play in the sand
The days go by as we eat drink, play and sleep
We find sea shells and collect them all to keep
Then it’s time to head home around all the bends
I know we will do it all again on other weekends
PEACEFUL FOREST
Wandering through the forest early one day
Turning here and there going in no particular way
Tall tree trunks covered in ancient looking bark
Some with scratches and the occasional little mark
Rays of sunlight shine filtered through the trees
Sounds of rustling leaves in the cool light breeze
My footsteps falling softly on the damp ground
Disturbing the leaves that have fallen all around
Sweet sounding chirps from birds in the blue sky
Swaying little bushes as animals try to sneak by
Lots of tiny creatures scampering about the place
Finding green grassy patches in a tiny open space
Trickling sounds of a creek slowly flowing ahead
Smooth looking pebbles cover the icy creek bed
Wandering all alone on this narrow twisty track
Enjoying the Peaceful Forest before I head back
Breathing in lots of clean fresh air as I softly sing
With sweet smelling odours surrounding everything
I relax ever so quietly sitting under a shady old tree
Happily knowing this is the place I really want be
THE RIVER
I watch the water flowing down The River
A breeze catches me for a moment I shiver
I throw my fishing rod into the water
And say ‘this is fun’ to my daughter
I look at all the smooth rocks lying around
I watch my eldest son collect them off the ground
He skips them across the water, that’s clever
It really is nice us here all together
My daughter turns rocks over looking for crabs
She finds some running that she quickly grabs
My little son screams with excitement and fear
As she shows him the crabs that are very near
Were all enjoying the day by the water in the sun
Fishing, skipping rocks, catching crabs is all fun
Even better is being with my three children today
Enjoying the river, flowing down from the bay
THE SEA
The waves roll peacefully towards me
The foam lay sleepily across The Sea
There’s just the noise of a gentle roar
Then silence as the waves lap the shore
The beauty of the sea makes me stare
Then I take a slow deep breath of air
I can almost taste salt in my mouth
I slowly begin to head towards south
My feet are massaged by soft sand
As my eyes study the wonderful land
THE SOUND
I sit and listen to the world around me
I hear a bird chirp so sweetly
I hear a fly as it buzzes
