      A New Beginning

      It has been almost nearly an entire two years since Lil Man decided to write a novel and venture into the risky business of putting his life’s turmoil’s out in the open for the public to view and read about. With some of the things he had portrayed, his wife thought he was really off his rocker.

      She never thought he would mention some of those things in a book for people to read about and see so openly. She had even been right by his side when he had waken up in cold sweats during the middle of the night, frantically gasping for air while reaching for his gun from night mares. He was having a lot of flashbacks about a troublesome past…

      They were still making music for their record label. Lil Man had renewed his contract, but his style of music took a slight turn from hip hop to the R n B side of things. He was older now, and being more mature had slowed down the wild side of his music. Lil Man and Katousha had actually started making duet records together. She had more time to dedicate to music since she was no longer working for her Aunt Susan’s cleaning service. Her Aunt had been arrested and charged for the murder of a lawyer that had worked in one of the buildings that she used to clean.

      She had never told Katousha about the relationship she had with the middle-aged man, and she had hidden the fact that he was rich beyond being a lawyer. He had a diamond collection that he had kept secluded away from his business as an attorney, which he constantly added to periodically. Obtaining ‘Blood Diamonds’ wasn’t an easy task, but that’s in another story of Fo-KISSED.

      The lawyer had become abusive while dealing with Katousha’s Aunt Susan, so she murdered him once she found the hidden diamonds in his home. Aunt Susan had stuffed his body in the air duct of his own office.

      Katousha’s Aunt had gotten away with the murder for over an entire two years before being caught and arrested while on the run, hiding out in the Bahamas and on other surrounding islands. She had an accomplice who the authorities still had been searching for. The unknown suspect was wanted for assisting the Aunt by distracting the security guards when the murder took place, and their altered fingerprints had been found on the switches that deactivated the buildings air conditioning system.

      As it turned out, the partner had thawed the body out on purpose because they learned that Katousha’s Aunt had not planned on splitting her cut of the diamonds. Katousha had been very broken up and saddened over her Aunt’s arrest and had been disappointed in her Aunt Susan’s deceit.

      It’s just so hard to believe what people will do over money these days. Does it ever make you nervous that we’re so well off sometimes Rahim? The world is becoming more crazy and reckless with people being broke and all.

      Lil Man had developed a keen habit of making lots of money and saving it away for ‘rainy days’. Yeah, I get a little worried over you sometimes not being able to take care of yourself, but karma plays a huge role in it all. People, who do bad things, often are the ones who have bad things happen to them. Not to mention you already shot me once before.

      (Lil Man had a joking smile on his face, remembering back to when Katousha had mistakenly grazed him by firing an impulsive shot) I made most of my money by just working hard and staying focused on what I was supposed to be doing. A lot of people find themselves in other people’s business, and that’s when trouble can occur. Rahim always made it a point to get straight down to the nitty gritty whenever he spoke to Katousha. This is what always kept her intrigued and on her toes the most. There weren’t too many games between them. They read each other pretty well.

      You know my cousin also played a huge role in all our success before he died, and I pray all the time to thank him and God for passing over all those blessings to us. But overall, money can really be considered the root to all this evil.

      Katousha knew that her husband had a lot on his chest and mind from those previous years. He didn’t want to ‘jinx’ himself, but he knew that there was a great chance that he would soon have to answer to his portions of sin either through God or some other unfortunate circumstance. Being well off usually meant, More money, more problems.

      But Lil Man had just been enjoying life as a dad. Watching baby Mekhi grow at an astonishing rate really had amazed him.
