I have always dreamed of editing my own book for people to enjoy. I have written short stories on Facebook In a group that I had made when I had spare time to share my stories with my friends and family. Then I came up with the idea that if my imagination can be shared with my friends I could share it to a wider audience and that’s how I became inspired in finding a publisher who can publish my work and get it seen.

    Chapter 1

    The chosen one

T he storm was getting worse outside number 26 London Street as an eighteen year old girl stepped inside and took her bag off her back and dashed into the kitchen for a cup of tea, this storm lasted for about a week. Monday was about the worst for rain fall but on this Friday thunder and lightning started. Leeza how was it in school today her mother shouted. Leeza was pouring the water from the kettle and she shouted I got into a fight to day with Gennie Hopkins. Again that’s twice this week said her mother. I will tell you the rest once I have made my Tea I haven’t put the milk in yet and I always thought daisy on my mug looked dry. Her mother laughed in the background, Leeza put away the milk and sat with her mother in the lounge her wet clothes she took off and she put on her pyjamas along with her dressing gown, She was in class today and the little cow slapped me so I shut her up by punching the crap out of her, the teachers couldn’t have stopped me because I was too quick for them Leeza said. Her mum was impressed with her mind you I didn’t like her mother either she was an arrogant bitch. Leeza smiled and made her way to her bedroom where her desk was she was clearing it out for next summer because her friend had given her a note pad to jot down her work for school ready to type up. Paragraphs and a few lines were all over her computer laid on her desk. But something caught her eye as she looked in a message it said don’t be afraid. Hidden in the top left hand corner of her screen then something moved outside of her window and then she looked at her laptop again and a message glowed I am the dream snatcher and all of your thoughts are mine your imagination is nothing. But Leeza had a power that nobody had a power to have an imagination then suddenly her bedroom was gone. She was in a forest with trees as high as her and plants that looked colourful. She walked the forest path alone and her head filled with thought could this of been her imagination? Or could this be the place she dreamed about then a town showed in her sights and she made her way to the small town. Bits of her didn’t know where she was she just wanted to go home but this was unfortunate because she couldn’t she must have been dreaming about this place for ages. The town seemed quiet at first it seemed like a ghost town not many people emerged their homes people who slept rough was on the street and many houses looked like they hadn’t been upgraded but the town suddenly burst into life after minuets went by. Many people looked at Leeza in a strange way a person asked her who she was standing in the middle of the street. Sorry, sir I didn’t mean to upset you but can you tell me what those shadows where that brought me here? Said Leeza No young lady you are perfectly ok I was just on my way to the town mall, those shadows were the shadows of dreams they snatch dreams and thoughts from you and create more of our world but hidden thoughts go to the evil part of our world the realm as we call it here it looks as though you are the chosen one. Replied the man Sorry the chosen one? said Leeza with a face of questions that needed to be asked. Yes, you’re the chosen one you’re the one to save our world from becoming thoughtless. Dreams should be dreams and left alone. For so long our world has suffered greatly and with your help you can save us and give us and imagination. For so long no one has painted anything or written anything that has been good but imagination is important. You are the chosen one who will be talked about I have a feeling. Said the man then he walked away down into the forest picking flowers to sell. The man shouted to Leeza If you want somewhere to stay just shout 24 Shortcake Avenue and it will take you there. Then the man disappeared into the distance. Leeza walked on into the town to find a thing that was going on but nothing was going on people was doing their daily routine. Sniggering of children ran across the road to wind up the farmer in the field. Leeza kept on walking she had found what she had come for. Leeza dressed in a satin dress with a red ribbon tied to it, her long hair was a golden blond and her shoes were black with a black lace. Leeza was the finest good looking girl at collage she would often get complimented or whistled at by the boys in the corridor in school. She was a A* student and not very stupid as some people thought of her when she was back in her dimension now she was stuck in a world that she didn’t know. Lots of moving wooden carts was moving up and down the street and men rolling barrels into the wine cellar of a pub called the laughing cat a voice came up towards Leeza and all at once a large crashing sound like bombs dropping came off the wooden cart careful now all that beer is all over the street now! said the angry voice of the bar man. His current posture was not like any Leeza had seen with a hand on his hip and his face slowly turning red. The bar man had an argument with the man and left the scene before the bar man killed him with his bare hands. Leeza walked into the pub and asked the bar man if she could help in anyway. No you cannot help! he shouted. My stock is ruined for today my next barrel comes tomorrow, and yet they will not get me a barrel today said the man looking like he was going to throw a punch at the bar. With an almighty smash bottles flew off the middle tables and glass was everywhere people punched each other and kicked each other until they was battered and bruised. Stop! said the bar man. People are getting hurt and all you can think about is beating yourselves up and destroying my pub, your beer has been disrupted and I haven’t any only a few kegs in the cellar I’m outraged so stop fighting or your all going to be barred got it. The pub went quiet and the bar man turned to Leeza. Listen, I’m henry and I do need a bit of help… Leeza was shocked and felt sorry for this man even though he was short wore a leather pair of boots and short white stockings and a shirt underneath a brown leather jacket. I thought you said you didn’t need any help. Leeza said as she raised her eyebrows. Look I didn’t mean… . you know. Leeza looked at the sorrowful eyes of the man as he started to cry because he was so angry with the way he acted to the man outside the pub. Smashed barrels, short on beer, it’s not good if we are out of booze in this trade. Leeza looked at the man grabbed a glass on the counter and banged until the glass smashed. The pub looked at her and cheers and groans were heard. If you stand here all day and call yourself a bar man your wrong you need to get a grip, people in here are looking up to an angry old man stuck behind the bar, why don’t you sort your stock out like change supplier or something. You may think that is easy by paying in coin but I am out. The money currency worked like this in their world. Say you buy something in a shop and it was 23 pounds then you would pay 20 coin because 3 is an odd number and odd numbers are counted out of their cycle of numbers. Because In their world it is said that the king of the south hated odd numbers and odd people so he made them ban the use of odd numbers. The magic in the world was still alive with witches in the north and the west. The western witches held prophesy’s dangerous ones and evil ones. The northern witches let’s just say they are the good witches that help people and care for the ones whom are injured in battle. Leeza stood amongst the others, we shall fight against the odds to get back the beer that they cleverly dropped and let’s say it comes out of their own pay! she shouted. Good thinking little Mrs we never thought of that we never thought of that before. The bar man cried. In the street everything wasn’t as it seemed people started running into their houses and hid out of the day time air. It was like a ghost town, the shadows drifted down the lonely streets as in search of something as they past they went back into the forest the town didn’t come out until a couple of minute’s past then they came out of their houses and started doing their normal every day chores. Leeza left the laughing cat and because it was going dark so she said ‘24 short cake Avenue’. And as she said it she ended up in a small house with a man she had met earlier. Sorry said the man I didn’t introduce myself earlier it’s just because I’m a very busy man working out in the fields all day. The man was big in build he wore big leather boots a white shirt and trousers that looked like they were made from a sack. May I take a seat said Leeza in a soft voice. You may the farmer said I am Freddie white and welcome to my home would you like tea said Freddie. Yes please Leeza replied. Then in a wave of his wand Leeza was amazed to see things moving all by themselves in the kitchen the plates hovered in mid-air and the tea pored its self. See, magic is cool in our world but sometimes it can make you very lazy but when guests come round I use magic anyway, not like I’m supposed to do magic here said Freddie. Why not do magic here said Leeza in a soft voice. Because our ministry in the forest advises us not to, it’s against the law to kill people here said Freddie but a couple of powerful sorcerers have done in the past with wands raised at their opponent, have you ever dreamed of pirates carrying wands instead of swords on their ships in the middle of a dark sea or floating boats that raise into the sky and fly to a destination of battle. Freddie stared at the ceiling for a minute and looked down to face Leeza. You’re mad, boats can’t fly and pirates don’t carry wands. Said Leeza smiling at the farmer you don’t know much about our world do you, tomorrow I will show you and I will take you down to see the boats fly into the sky as though they are still floating on an open sea. Mind you pirates like to dress a little weird sometimes to entertain the captain of the vessel. Pirates aren’t the friendly kind who will look after you they will make you sail with them until they find what they are looking for and then they use you to become an assassin to assassinate the main man on the other boat with quite a drop you will be shocked at how men on board survive some don’t. Some plunder to their death in the middle of an ocean or over the enchanted forest. Wands are simple to get in this world but are hard to come by. If you kill something with a wand your wand will reject you he paused and then started to talk again but some wands are bad and they stay with you from years to come fighting until they put such an enchantment on your hands and all the people you have killed turn into power. Leeza was feeling restless and tired so Freddie showed her to a room he had spare it was a big room with a bed and a carved wooden cabinet the floor was covered in a map that showed most of the forest. A beautiful set of draws hung on a wall and a huge wardrobe filled with everything she could ever imagine was in there. This room will be your room and you can stay for as long as you want. When you get up the kitchen is down stairs on the right and a garden is through the kitchen said Freddie and he walked away into his own bedroom and closed the door Leeza had a great view her room was near enough to see the garden she lay in bed and closed her eyes. Leeza, Leeza wake up your friends are at the door shouted her mother and Christopher and jenny stood there waiting with their bags over their shoulders. Leeza got dressed and grabbed her bag she ran into the kitchen to grab the last bit of toast and out the door she went. Leeza do you know what lessons we have today said jenny as she gasped at her hair. We have biology all day said Leeza looking up at jenny. You might need a brush to flatten your hair with and jenny was routing in her bag to find one soon they stopped and got themselves organised to go into collage. The first lessons were boring in a lab with such boring people but just then a knock on the classroom door went and a teacher who had more experience walked in. Can I see you in my office immediately Charles. All the students looked at each other with excitement as the teacher left the class and then the classroom door banged with a thud against the frame. The periodic table lay on the desk in front of Leeza and her friends that was on her table. I wish that we could do something instead of waiting around like idiots. Said Christopher with a large grin on his face and the expression of messing about in class Christopher was never a big fan of Mr Morgan because he would often pick him out to do practical every single time. Christopher picked up a felt tip pen and wrote on the board rate your teachers then he began to write on the board at the end the class had to pick which teacher they liked. Every time the teacher that would pop up most was Mrs Appleton she was most liked. Then the class had time to chat about the teachers but a strange mark showed on the white board a mark no one could see not ever her friends. After lunch Leeza and her friends came back into the class before anybody else did and they could see the mark that Leeza saw it was like a spiral with a triangle in the centre Leeza and her friends touched the mark but nothing happened then a breeze came and sent Leeza and her friends into the dream world. Christopher didn’t often read fairy tales and jenny had read plenty about evil wizards or witches. But then a small light appeared and by a second they vanished. Christopher felt like he was falling and he was through a vortex like never before jenny felt excited about what adventures lay ahead of her she was imagining things like she never done before then Leeza was quickly falling into the world that she had been in not so long ago. Then Leeza fell into a bedroom whilst her friends were whisked into the deeper depths of the forest. Leeza woke to find herself in the room that Freddie had given to her to stay; Leeza got dressed and went down in a long dressing gown and a pink frilly bow that tied her gown together. The farmer greeted her once again. Morning said Freddie your looking fresh this morning. Are you settling in well in your new room? Yeah fine thanks and thank you for my room it’s very cosy. Said Leeza with a smile and she walked into the garden it looked beautiful overlooking the town.

    The world of dreams

C hristopher fell until he hit the forest floor with a thud. He rubbed the back of his head as he slowly made his way up off the floor on to his feet. He looked around and everything seemed dark until light glows of light came off a tree in the distance. Lots of fairies lived in the enchanted forest and usually made trees glow bright silver. Water lilies sat beautifully on the river that was close by and the beautiful glow off the wings of the fairies that was hidden in the trees. One fairy sat on Christopher’s shoulder and flew off again into the dark forest. He looked around and saw a narrow path leading into a different part of the forest Christopher followed the path until he could see sunlight beat down on his face. The warmth of the
