      INTRODUCTION: THE STAGES

      There must be a beginning of any great matter, but the continuing unto the end until it be thoroughly finished yields the true glory (Sir Frances Drake)

      Life is in stages, and men are in sizes goes to a popular saying, if it is true, then, one of the most important things that should be on the mind of any serious-minded person is how to know and understand these different stages of life, cum his present stage, and how to migrate to the next stage quickly. So, what is this stage of life? The stage in this context means a point reached in a process or journey. It could also mean a particular time in the journey of life. Another name for stage is phased, which means a distinct period in a process of change or development.

      These definitions re-emphasize the fact that every creation is a product of time, which experiences different stages, or phases in their lifetime. That is why the wisest man who ever lived, Solomon said;For everything there is a fixed time, and a time for every business under the sun1. He tried to explain the importance of time to the existence of human life.

      The following stages of life will readily come to mind if asked, what are the stages or phases of life that you know?—birth, infancy, adolescence, adulthood, old age and death, or childhood, school age, working age, marriage age and death. While all these stages are truly the stages experienced by all living creatures, the stage that will be discussed in this book is deeper, more important, more realistic and mostly needed stages of life than those mentioned earlier and known to most of us.

      Knowing and understanding these stages of life will go a long way to prepare and equip us for real divinely destined life. Most importantly, is for us to know which stage of life we are presently, and the characteristics of the stage. What are the challenges of the current stage and how should we move to the next stage by passing the entire test required for the stage?

      LIFE IS A COURSE, JOURNEY AND GAME

      It will not be wrong at this point to say that our life is a course of study, which involves everything associated with studying a course. I remembered my experiences when I was admitted into the higher institution, after my admission and documentation, we commenced lectures, then assignments and tests. Suddenly, first and second semester exams, thereafter, second year exams, before we knew it, it was final year and graduation, where awards of various degrees were awarded.

      The journey of our lives is very similar, no cross no crown, no pain no gain and no price no prize, that’s what it’s all about. To succeed in any game, there is the need to understand the game, the rules that govern such a game and the opponent. Without these three things, failure is inevitable. Please note that this life is a game.

      This book is set to give you an insight on how to understand this game called life, the rules that govern every level of the game and lastly, the different segment associated with the different levels of the game of life without which, the ultimate prize of life may be elusive in its entirety.

      We are all time bombs, going somewhere to explode either positively or negatively, depending on our understanding of whom we are, and the role we are here to play. There is no permanent season, seasons come and go, and that’s the nature of all creatures. Understanding each of these seasons early is more important than anything in life. The most important instrument for any sailor or pilot on a journey is a compass. It is an instrument that helps them to know their directions, without it; there will be confusion on the journey. Life is a journey. Do you know where you are, and where you are going? On the other hand, are you in the middle of nowhere going anywhere? The possession of this compass is very important for anybody, and that is what is revealed in this book.
