I decided to write this book because I believe my writing would bring some changes in peoples thinking. After my masters from Banasthali University I started writing as my hobby. Its a passion for me. I am interested to do research in cancer and now I am about to start my doctorate research very soon. Beside that "A light in the dusk" is my first novel where people will find a similarity with the characters. Its a fiction but the message from the fiction is very strong...Please read it you will enjoy for sure...

Anyhow, he succeeded in reaching the nursing home on time. It was his and Gargi’s first wedding anniversary. Gargi was admitted to the nursing home. Nihar was going with the O negative blood for his beloved wife, Gargi, whom he loved so much. Until that morning, Nihar hadn’t thought that he would present O negative blood to Gargi on their wedding anniversary. A sudden incident can change anyone’s life. Anyhow, Nihar reached the nursing home. He gave the blood to nurse Reena. The red bulb in front of the operation theatre turned on and the operation started.

    FLASHBACK

Nihar was a meritorious student of Jadavpur University. He stood five feet seven inches and was a cool boy. He had a very thin moustache, but girls liked that very much. He was so charming; he used to write Bengali poems all the time. Literature was his favourite topic as he actually wanted to be a poet. It was his passion to study chemical engineering from Jadavpur University. He ranked first in his board exam, so he got a chance to study from Jadavpur. He was so innovative that he got selected for doctoral studies. He belonged to a middle-class family. His father was a staff in Union Bank. His mother was a simple housewife. He was the only child of his parents. It was a sweet and complete family. Nihar was interested in publishing his poems. He dreamt about bringing social change in India.

He dreamt of changing the social behaviour of Indian people. He used to read many political books also. He was a complete character. Every girl in his class was captivated by him.

It was July. The semester results were going to be announced. Nihar got the 9th percentile. He was selected by Larsen and Toubro through campus placement. Ratan Saha was a very proud father that day because of his son Nihar. He distributed king-size rasgullas in his office to celebrate his son’s achievement. Everyone congratulated him. But Nihar’s posting was in Bangalore. It was the first time when Sikha wouldn’t be with Nihar. Like other Bengali parents Ratan and Sikha pampered Nihar a lot. She was weeping for her son. But Nihar had to go. Nihar’s train was from Howrah station. His childhood friends Saikat and Arijit were also present there with Nihar to see him off. Finally, the whistle sounded. The train started moving from the station. Sikha held Nihar’s hand strongly, but gradually the hands got separated. It was the first time for Sikha that Nihar would be living away from her. A drop of tear came in Nihar’s eye. He was missing his ma and baba.

‘I will call you, Ma. I will be back very soon. Don’t worry.’
