About this ebook

Single mum of two girls, Ailidh Morrison is a passionate example of West Coast Womanhood. Born in 1974 she has spent most of her itinerant life on and around the West Coast of Scotland, finally settling in 2008 on the Isle of Eigg. Her poetry is driven by an elemental wildness that strives to combine the archetypal with the everyday. Sometimes playful sometimes melancholic, Ailidhs poetry provides a bridge between the knowledge and the experience of personal relationships and the souls reaction.
She draws through her words an eloquent and moving play of human emotion; liberally allowing the natural and sexual nature of her own personality to illustrate and evoke the mystery of the human condition. Larger than life and a lover of life, her poetry is a conduit to sharing and facilitates an inclusive way of being; both with the Self and with others.
Curly black haired and hazel eyed, she has a tendency to enjoy herself and lives to the absolute maximum, searching out new experiences and challenges. She also makes exceptional soup.

A Dancing Way - Ailidh Morrison

    Shooglelin

    Such a peace befell me

    The night before the rampage

    of our hearts and emotions

    Friendship re-sought

    and found

    The homecoming

to the rooms of our beloved’s mind

    Sharin to re-enable the able

    To grasp darting and constant

the forms of natures layin prayin way

Journeyin in a rain strewn evenin

Blue casting grey as its understudy

    Inside a golden holden grace

that empowers the gift o dance

To chance the release of uncertainty

    She, He, Me and back

Whirl jiggin the form o light

    throughout the night of revelry

    A savage owning and owing

Ready yer sel tae do well

for it is the gracetraced place of adorement

    As you are cherished

    I Like It Better

    In The Half Light

I like it better in the half light

I can see your smile cast shadows

    Banished grace leaves anger

    A dancing colour,

    Dark, burnished, red.

    I like it as an orifice;

    Emotions riding my plains

as I listen to aching ebbs of feelings you taught me

I like it hidden in a mass of bodies

Caught touched by feet, limbs, hair and hands

A place held in time to catch

    Where they care

    I am

I like it better in the half light

    I can sense your smile

    Burnished grace grieves anger

A dancing colour, dark banished bed

I like it as an orifice of emotions

    Riding my
