About this ebook

The deep moving burning story by Dorcas Shekina Sarudzai Mudzi waKujinga is a profound testimony of her life and her breath taking road to Christ. Her experiences as a freedom fighter and a disciple of Christ show that it only takes faith to keep going despite facing extraordinary obstacles. She viewed these obstacles as ladders to blessings and found reason for all those escapes from untold suffering from a tender age to date.
In this book we learn extracts from Dorcas diary over the course of several years; the everyday challenges and note a few life-changing. Combined with these episodes are bible based reflections, each one highlighting a particular insight that can help the reader to face difficult situations with hope. The book encourages the reader to seeking to grow his/her faith in the God who can transform us into extraordinary disciples. Dorcas then known as Sarudzai Churucheminzwa also wrote a book in 1976 entitled WHY I JOINED THE ARMED STRUGGLE BY SARUDZAI CHURUCHEMINZWA. This she used in sourcing morale and material support during the armed struggle of her native country Zimbabwe.
She is a single mother with four biological children, two adopted and four spiritual daughters. They are all grown up with their own families now. We all need encouragement, but we also need challenges and sometimes we are not so willing to be changed out of our daily routine and our comfort zones. This book gives insight to how Dorcas faced these challenges. She also shows relevancy of reading the Bible, and how important it is to apply biblical principals to real life situations in order to succeed, and manage our sorrows as well as our joys. Dorcas from a worldly soldier to a Christ like soldier, I Salute! You! 21 Gun salute.

    Foreword

F rom the third chapter of Genesis to the closing stages of Revelation, we read about catastrophic events that were taking place that period. Regardless of all these God encourages us saying, Be still and know that I am God. In addition, Jehovah Gibbor (the God who fights our battles) puts across that even if the intrinsic and extrinsic weapons of the enemy attacks your life just be strong and courageous for He is with you for He is your shepherd and deliverer.

God made Joshua the son of Nun a successor of Moses as leader over Israel. As according to Joshua 1 verse 5, he is also the man whom God promised that as I was with my servant Moses, so I will be with you, I will not fail you nor forsake you. This illustration indicates that God is our shepherd; he is always with us no matter what circumstances.

When Hannah could no longer bear the pain of her empty womb, she went to the temple to present her supplication to the Lord and the Lord delivered and granted her requests. However, through King David God showed us how to be a model of faith and putting our trust upon God in times of hardship, pain & etc.

It is evident that in every new ‘Kairos’ (special timing of God), He raises up a voice to speak forth, with great clarity for His predestined purpose and plans for that hour. According to the revelation that was revealed in my spirit by God, Shekina Glory was raised by God for this momentous hour as a voice to the nation. She speaks not only about what she went through but more importantly about how we can overcome when we are faced with trials and tribulations.

In this book, ‘It’s Time to Tell My Burning Story’, my mother in Christ Shekina Glory, with her impeccable divine insight and wisdom reveals to us a clear revelation about:

What she went through in life?

How she overcame to be the way she is now?

Who to turn to in times of trials and tribulations?

This book is a must read for those who want to know more about how God can become the ‘I am who I am’ in dark times. I prophesy that it will become an effective tool in many Christian schools, colleges, Universities, and Bible students will be empowered by this book throughout the world.

    Preface

M y story is that of a female ex-freedom fighter who fought worldly wars in the jungle like Che Guevara (a male liberation struggle leader) whom I greatly admired and contributed to my zeal and motivation to take part in the struggle. His memoirs inspired me and I viewed him as my hero. However, you will see throughout the book that this is no longer the case; Jesus Christ is now my hero. When I was young, in my mind I fought two fronts which I experienced as a result of growing up in a colonial setting. The two fronts I am referring to are; the struggle against the common enemy the colonizers and the struggle against male chauvinism which were both embedded in our culture and the struggle within a struggle. I had to prove that I was capable of liberating myself in both fronts. The male chauvinist approach was not easy to die even in the liberators.

From the third chapter of The Bible (Genesis) to the closing stages of Revelation, we read about catastrophic events that were taking place in that period. Regardless of all these events God still encourages us to, Be still and know that I am God, a lesson which I learnt as a freedom fighter in the country of Zimbabwe. The book illustrates my struggles and triumphs as a female guerrilla and Christian. Jehovah Gibbor (the God who fights our battles) said that even if the intrinsic and extrinsic weapons of the enemy attacks your life just be strong and courageous for He is with you and is your shepherd and deliverer. I speak not only about what I went through but more importantly about how we can overcome when we are faced with trials and tribulations using the Bible.

Due to my passion for writing books, I have been writing and shelving my work, since 1980. I love to hear that in eternity, there is no age factor; therefore it is never too late, the hold was temporary as I am blessed and the limitations have been lifted. God has renewed my strength like an eagle. God is our shepherd. He is always with us no matter what circumstances we are confronted with. As illustrated in the story of Joshua, God made Joshua the son of Nun a successor of Moses as leader over Israel. He was also the man whom God promised that as I was with my servant Moses, so I will be with you, I will not fail you nor forsake you (Joshua 1 verse 5). Therefore, this book is a must read for those who want to know more about how God’s power and learn to become the ‘I am who I am’ in dark times. I prophesy that it will become an effective tool in many Christian schools, colleges, Universities, and Bible students will be empowered by this book throughout the world.

    CHAPTER ONE

    Introduction

W e all go through times of adversities and seasons of pain and suffering, yet we always emerge on the other side; only when we trust in God. I believe that what you are willing to confront, Jesus is willing to heal. What you are willing to change, Jesus is willing to transform. Our Lord is transformational and also thought-provoking while using terrain and its features.

    In my life, I suffered a loss so great not only externally but internally, to be specific it was my identity. The loss was so great I always wondered who I was and if I was of any value. In the journey of life there were moments I experienced extreme hardships, negative labels, successes and setbacks and hatred. However, I have consistently confronted these situations with boldness in prayer and the name of the living God. My motivation to fight these drawbacks came from the grace of the Lord. God has taken me far—and has constantly shown me that He will be with me till the end of time. Now I have found grace in God’s sight and His presence shall not depart from me as He gives me peace. I asked myself a series of questions which I had no answers to;

    •   Where am I going?

    •   Where am I coming from?

    •   Where am I now?

    •   How did I get there?

These questions are answered and addressed within this book in a series of what I believe are well-orchestrated events that occurred in my life. Nothing just happens; God has a reason for every occurrence in one’s life. In the process of writing in this book I lost friends and relatives. People thought I was a joke each time I spoke about my passion for writing. I have been writing for years, but this is my first published book. I started this piece of work six months ago on the escalation of situations I could not comprehend. I discovered that when obstacles and limitations were removed the answers came to light. I received a telegram from heaven that God was going to change my life in an extraordinary manner. I felt a sense of peace and stopped worrying and sow seeds of hard work into writing this book, as God Almighty ‘You reap, what you sew’ and I will reap in due season. I will be like a tree planted by the river, when I think of the goodness of Jesus Christ in my life. He has made my life super-size—a life of prayer and interceding for his people.

My prayer is to help you to discover your potential through your adversities not comfort. God engineered you for what He intended you to become. Jezebels may try to hinder the engineering process but they will not succeed as what God has blessed no man can curse. You are a vessel unto honour. In my father’s houses there are many vessels, some to honour and some to dishonour. When Daniel fasted and prayed the answer was captured the prince of the kingdom of Persia was withstanding him for twenty-one days; then behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help him, for he had been left there with the kings of Persia.

At this point I Thank God for making a covenant before us and that He will do marvels in your life as you read this book, such that have not been seen in all earth. I believe that God declared me to minister before kings and queens of this world and conferred me with the spirit of boldness, spirit to create wealth for kingdom funding and church planting. I live by faith and hope to teach you readers to do the same.

I know God will lead and grant your requests like He did to Jabez. As you praise Him and believe in Him, He will fast track all your requests. Weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning.

    CHAPTER TWO

Engineering Reality—Whom am I Where Am I Going, Why was I Born?

I n the armed struggle I stood as an ambassador for my country and political beliefs, but now I am an ambassador for Christ. The veil of oppression was lifted the moment I realised that I was a vessel unto honour, passionate about winning souls for Christ so radical of a philosophy I was up in arms with. The turnaround can be likened to Saul who transformed and became Paul in the New Testament. Similarly, The Old Testament is the shadow of what was to come—The New Testament, The new covenant. I was so rooted in the worldly things in preparation to work for the Kingdom of God. Now am in the new covenant after fine processing going through the conveyor belt

In the Bible political differences and wars have always been used as ways to solve contradictions. Wars were considered part of life in the Old Testament till this day. The truth is we cannot run away from reality. Even God supported these uprisings, for example, David always enquired from God whether he was to go on a fight with the enemy. When David captured the fortress of Zion, the City of David, he must have thought, You have been to me what these walls have been to this city. No other excuse exists for my safety or my success. David knew God was all those things we looked at. David expressed his appreciation of his unwavering support during needy time of war. He says; my rock, my loving God, my fortress, my stronghold, my deliverer, my shield, my refuge. The names David called his God fell from the lips of experience, from things he knew. Sometimes we stand to learn the most about God from the situations we understand the least. God had designs other than the mere exaltation of David. God allowed the evil of Saul and of Israel to exhibit itself. God intended to give David some apprehension of the character of his own heart, and to cause, him to learn subjection to a greater wisdom than his own. He intended also to prove the hearts of His own people Israel; and to try how many among them would discern that the Cave of Adullam was the only true place of excellence and honour in Israel. Further discipline was needed by David, if he was to learn deeper lessons of dependence upon God.

The lesson you can learn is you need to whole heartedly depend upon God. Your hardships are grooming you for success and the life that God desired you to lead. Although it appears that God’s delays are trying to flesh and blood, nevertheless, they are ordered by perfect wisdom and infinite love from my parents and my father in Heaven. And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. (Matthew 21:22). Delay does not mean denial.

He was especially intrigued by the story of David. He emulated the one that was after God’s heart. Surely for the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come. To date I have learnt why my uncle dictated that I should study the life of David and how it is now applying in my own experiences. Today I appreciate my uncle teachings on David.

I was transformed from worldly Soldier to a Christ like soldier. I felt a seed was sown during the engineering process of my growing up before I realized what I was to become. I recall at a tender age, my uncle Hosea who was a retired teacher and prophet/evangelist of his time prophesied certain phases of my life which have all come to fruition. Now I know and believe he knew what I was to become.

I grew up under a very tough father in terms of morals, culture and tradition. To be very frank, my father was a chauvinistic male dominant in the family. In my mind I would say to self, one day I will free myself from both political, social shackles. In my mind I was somebody. I believed God had created me to be of a difference in this motherland. I believed every occurrence had an expiry date. God was going to remove my reproach as he remembered Rachel in the bible. My inward man had been renewed.

While undertaking primary education, my father’s brother Uncle Hosea would tell me stories from the Holy Book. He would often ask me to lead in the Children’s’ Sunday school services. After primary education, my uncle asked me to take bible studies seriously as he believed it would greatly impact my future. I had no idea why he was so adamant I studied the bible diligently. I went to secondary school and passed O levels with outstanding grades in Divinity. My headmaster was very proud of me as I recall him calling me at school assembly to recite the Beatitudes which I had memorized well. My memory was sharp because Uncle Hosea often gave me books to read and during the school holidays he would quiz me on what I had learnt. It seems he knew what was awaiting me in the future. He further encouraged me to read the story of Job which I read enthusiastically but did not grasp anything according to his wisdom. Uncle Hosea prophesied that I would experience pitiful life like Job, yet; still I did not understand what he meant.

How I ended up in the City

My father was a farmer and devoted his life to it. He was a devoted Christian who always read his Bible while sitting under his favourite mango tree. He spent most of his time in the fields, checking on his herd in the paddocks, pruning orchard trees and always adding more fruit trees. My father was in a family of nine boys and my Uncle Hosea was the first born. As their parents had passed on my Uncle Hosea was traditionally viewed as the head of the entire family. Of the nine boys my father was second in command to Hosea as the second born. Uncle Hosea was such an honourable senior to our entire Mudzi family. My father took the fatherly responsibility of all the children for the families. However, his political views differed from his brother Hosea to the extent that he left the local church the time he was farming in Gutu on political grounds.

My father was aware that I was interested in politics and knew that I had a desire to take part in the liberation struggle; therefore, he attempted to thwart that interest by sending me to a Missionary Boarding secondary school. My father considered missionary schools as highly disciplined. However, it was not that simple to gain entrance into secondary school. The colonial government had set bottle necks in the education system, for
