    SILENCE IS THE STRANGER

I could not hear the silence

So I could not tell it to go away

I could not see the silence

But it was there each and every day

I could not touch the silence

And it would touch me in every way

One day there came a stranger

Who came to me to stay

    This was the only stranger

Who said she loved me every day

The heart and soul of this stranger

Would touch me in every way

    I don’t hear this silence

That this stranger made go away

    Now she is no stranger

The one who loved me this way

    Now there is no silence

The stranger made it go away

I hear her words so often

Such nice things they would say

She would say she loved me

    Each and every day

She would say she missed me

    In each and every way

    Now there is no silence

    Now there is no stranger

    Her name is Oksana

    She sent the silence away

Now I can say I love and miss her

    Each and every day

Her place is in my heart

    She is there to stay

She takes the place of silence

    Each and every day

Now there is only one thing for me to say

Oksana my loved one is here, in my heart to stay

For when she leaves this place

The silence will return that day

Now there is only one thing to say

    Let silence be the stranger

    Let silence stay away

    Let silence be the stranger

    Each and every day

    With love, for love

    THE STORY

It is said everyone has a story. This is mine. This is time, the time I stop to reflect on my existence, past, present and future. A small period in the time of times but important in my time. These are merely words, the simple words of a simple man. I try, in my way to share my thoughts and myself with the universe. This is my footprint, a small footprint in the sands of time but it is my footprint.

I am good and bad, I have caused smiles, I have caused sorrow, I have caused joy and pain. I have regrets but I would rather regret what I do rather than what I have not.

I look back for the beginning of life. I see many things rush through my mind. There are many bright lights. They still exist with my love even if they do not feel it or return it. I stop at the brightest of lights. A young boy I held in my arms. He lifts my soul and resides in my heart. A place he will always be as long as time exists.

I did not see silence creep into my life. It came so slowly or it had always been there waiting for its chance to rule. The time came when I saw this silence. I could not make it go away. I felt defeated and alone with this silence until I saw a light in the distance. This light seemed to grow. It did not stop. It did not go away. This light was a young woman, young in years of time, old in years of reason.

The present is now our time. This young woman and this old man are all that people will see. Some will mock a few will understand that love has many faces. The face of love we share today is to believe in someone that makes you believe they believe in you.

As long as we believe in this love it will be stronger than any power in existence. This is the only way a love such as this can exist and not perish in the storms of life and time.

The bright boy once told me he liked to see young with old. I believe this wise one realizes that the young will inherit the universe but it is now under the control of the older young until they release it.

These are my stories. I write in the first year when this young woman came into my life as a light to become my brightest star and is continuing to grow brighter each day.

Enjoy them. I hope. Read them. I hope. If you like some and not others this is the way I am. I am a simple human. If you do not like them, I am sad but I will not have failed. I make this footprint… Like it or not. See it or not. This I will challenge you, not judge to harshly but just make a footprint of your own, in your own way.

    OF ALL THE

    BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE

He was just an ordinary man. He walked through the crowd as many did. He was not usually in the city, for the crowds made him uncomfortable, but he had business today.

In this crowd, this unnamed man walked silently on his way, alone with his thoughts. He watched as the people walked by, the blonde, she smiled at him, her teeth so white and her hair so perfect. The young man, features so fine, dressed so well, not a wrinkle in his shirt or suit. He watched the older couple so prim and proper, so aristocratic in manner.

The man in the doorway, ragged in dress, a tin cup in his hand, holding it up to show emptiness there, gave a grin and a wink. The man reached in his pocket, there was a dollar, 3 quarters and a ticket to home, was all that he had. With a sigh he dropped the dollar and quarters silently into the cup. The man in the doorway smiled, he smiled back. He turned and again walked into the crowd.

As he turned the corner he chanced to see his reflection in the window there. The hair a little gray and not quite so perfect, the face a little wrinkled as was his shirt and pants, not a lot, but not quite so perfect. His walk not quite as steady as others as he walked on by the business men and women dressed so neat, the perfect hair and posture, all so beautiful and perfect rushing by.

At the next corner he saw a man. This man seemed lost and was looking around as people rushed by. The unnamed man saw a cane on the ground he picked it up and placed it in the blind
