Thanks to everyone that supported me through prayer and encouragement. There is no way I could have completed this project without the help of my best friend and husband of almost 20 years - Pastor Michael A. E. Davis. Thanks to my four beautiful blessings – Quonce J. Davis, Michael Davis, Miles Davis, and Zoe Davis. Thanks Mommy – Marian Hogan for always believing in me no matter what.

This book is dedicated to the memory of my aunt, Marilyn Rice Sister Marilyn (1952 – 2013). Now she is truly free.

    Foreword

Freedom. The new reality and reaction as a result of the knowledge and acceptance of the fact that no longer does the thing that has had control over your existence daily, and seemingly for eternity, continue to rule over you. You have been set free. You, oh beloved of God, hold in your hands a wonderfully and intricately designed and welded freedom tool that has been painstakingly constructed by God over a period of 40 good, bad and sometimes ugly years. We find in the Gospel of John, in Chapter 8, at verse 31 through verse 32, Jesus our Lord declaring that there is freedom for those that continue in, or obey with action His Word. Our Lord clearly states that the truth will set you free. Every word contained within the pages to follow is absolutely true.

In the DNA of any bridge there is a portion of it that is called the span. According to Webster-online the definition of span is an extent, stretch, reach, or spread between two limits: as a limited space (as of time); especially an individual’s lifetime or the spread or extent between abutments or supports (as of a bridge).

In writing this book, the author has allowed her life to be the span of this truth bridge that leads to freedom. Allow this devotional to guide you on a 40 day journey using these life tested, God-illuminated truths from His Word that at its end awaits freedom.

Tamatha, may God be glorified in you, oh incomprehensively incredible, servant of the Lord, wife, and mother for obediently, honestly, and submissively laboring under the power of, and influenced by His Spirit, through the righteousness obtained through Him, for the beautiful gift that is this book. It is truly my sincere honor to write this, the foreword to your first book. I love you infinitely.

    Love your Husband,

    Pastor Michael A.E. Davis

This collection of devotionals was written primarily during my five year stint in corporate America. I started working for a major computer company in May of 1999. I worked for two days, then left my new position and the United States to take my first missions trip
