About this ebook

Genesis chapter 3 verse 8 speaks about the cool of the day as the time of Gods time of daily visitation, communication with Adam, and inspection to the garden.

Every believer must know the time in his fellowship, experience and relationship in the cool of his day with God, if they must understand His voice. The cool of the day is the place of quietness or the path of still waters.

Before the fall, God always comes down to fellowship with man, but after it, man always looks up to call upon the Lord - I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

As a shepherd, David should know better the implications of a sheep beyond the shepherds view or sight.
Nevertheless, he allowed the spirit of ease to laid hold on him and missed out of divine guidance - at the time when kings go forth to battle, he stayed back at home.

When you are in a wrong place, you would end up doing the wrong thing for you cannot be found where you are needed; an idle hand is the devils workshop.

Thus the beginning of real troubles of his entire life and generation, for he committed adultery with Bath-Sheba, killed the husband and got him cursed and punished by God Woe unto them that are at ease in Zion. Amos 6; 1.

When you missed out of divine guidance, you become like an air plane which is out of radar, untraceable from the control room and like a bird which wandered away from her nest what a disaster! Proverbs 27; 8.

    Preface

In this book, you shall discover and understand the importance of receiving (as commonly said) from God, which cannot be over-emphasized in recent times and these last days.

The devil is mobilizing his armies day by day to ensnare God’s elects unaware like a rushing of a mighty flood—Thou didst strike through with staves the head of his villages; they came out as a whirlwind to scatter me; their rejoicing was as to devour the poor secretly. Habakkuk 3; 14.

Then the king of Syria warred against Israel, and took counsel with his servants, saying, in such and such a place shall be my camp.

And the man of God sent unto the king of Israel, saying, Beware that thou pass not such a place; for thither the Syrians have come.

And the king of Israel sent to the place which the man of God told him and warned him of, and saved himself there, not once nor twice.

Therefore the heart of the king of Syria was sore troubled for this thing and he called his servants and said unto them, Will ye not show me which of us is for the king of Israel?

And one of his servants said none, my lord, O king; but Elisha, the prophet that is in Israel, telleth the king of Israel the words that thou speakest in thy bedchamber. 2 kings 6; 8-12.

It is the Spirit and the power of the Lord that declares unto man what is in his thoughts, the Spirit of God of the prophets, which lives and abides in every blood-bought New Testament believers—I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth; for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak; and he will show you things to come! John 16; 12-14.

When deceptive appearances, impressions and footsteps of Satan and his cunning craftiness are unknown to the individual in the church, perhaps, to the new born babes and the unwatchful brethren, then, the usurper can take advantage to ensnare, frustrate, discourage, divert, and instill fear in order to bring them into bondage.

This deception causes distraught and destruction, because the brethren are spiritually blind and deaf, like horse and mule which have no understanding.

If the communication link between a believer and His heavenly Father is not intact and effective; the devil’s predisposition to lie, steal and kill and to destroy would not be easily discovered.

There are, perhaps, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification.

We have been chosen in Him before the foundation of the world that we should know His will and see that just one and should hear the voice of His mouth.

Abraham, our father of faith, received God’s revelation, heard His voice, walked with Him, followed His guidance and instruction, heeded to His warnings, and it was well with him—Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will show thee. Genesis 12; 1.

There were two grave mistakes in Abraham’s life in his communicative relationship with God.

The first mistake was his sentimental decision to take Lot with him, who was a great cause of trouble and regret as he made himself a thorn in the flesh of Abraham—And Lot also, which went with Abram, had flocks, herds, and tents.

And the land was not able to bear them that they might dwell together; for their substance was great, so that they could not dwell together. And there was strife between the herd men of Abram’s cattle and herd men of Lot’s cattle.

And Abram said unto Lot, let there be no strife, I pray thee between me and thee, and between my herd men and thy herd men; for we be brethren. Is not the whole land before thee?

Separate thyself, I pray thee, from me; if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if thou wilt go to the right hand, then I will go the left—Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you; for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him. Genesis 13; 5-9. Isaiah 51; 2.

Note, you cannot join with those that God did not appoint with you, else, they may end up causing division or becoming offense between you and God

Abraham’s second mistake in spiritual communication was his acquiescence to Sarah’s suggestion for an adopted child through Hagar.

Now Sarai Abram’s wife bore him no children; and she had an handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name was Hagar.

And Sarai said unto Abram, behold now, the Lord hath restrained me from bearing; I pray thee, go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai. Genesis 16; 1-2.

Note, Carnal sentiments and affections are two great enemies to the relationship with God, for those that are in the flesh cannot please God. Romans 8; 8.

The Gibeonites deceitful game worked on Joshua and the elders of Israel because the elders allowed sentiments and natural inclinations to govern their decisions to consent to the Gibeonites’ stratagem—the presentations of dry and mouldy bread, rent wine bottle and old and torn clothes. Judges 9; 3-8.

In any decision, affair, or any relationship, God’s mind must be patiently sought for through prayer.

Committing ourselves without the knowledge of His perfect will may cause irrevocable regret—All things have I seen in the days of my vanity; there is a just man that perishes in his righteousness, and there is a wicked man that prolonged his life in his wickedness.

Be not righteous over much, neither make thyself over wise; why should you destroy thyself? Ecclesiastes 7; 15-16.

Regard the Gibeonites’ scrupulous word choice in the name of God and religion—And they said unto him, from a very far country thy servants are come because of the name of the Lord thy God; for we have heard the fame of him, and all that he did in Egypt… And the men took of their victuals, and asked not counsel at the mouth of the Lord. Joshua 9; 9-15.

Appearance is deceitful, for man looks outside, but God looks inside, that is, into the heart of the very heart of man. Nothing is hidden before God; all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him we have to do.

Note, they are not all children of God, who called upon Him; neither is all in relationship with Him that professed his knowledge.

Are not the descendants of Gibeonites here in our churches today, in the name of serving God with us, with the motives of holding our sons and daughters, men and women of Zion in captivity through marriage?

They are the sons and daughters of Belial.

If they do not succeed to turn you back to Egypt, they are content to show you their true unregenerate self, content to maintain the marriage, doing things in their own ways.

Otherwise, they attempt to scandalize and destroy your godly testimonies and divine devotion by jeopardizing your divine relationship.

A certain man of God lost his marriage for whatever reason, and he confessed to the world that it was his fault, having placed or prioritized the ministry or his relationship with God above his marriage.

Now that the marriage has broken, what is he waiting for to leave the ministry and relationship with God to mend his marriage?

This man was wrong in his assessment because commitments and devotion in our relationship with God must come first.

We see Jesus leaving the glorious family above to come down to earth for ministry; to make another family on earth, that in him, all the whole family in heaven and earth might be named—And when they saw him, they were amazed; and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.

And he said unto them, how is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business? Ephesians 3; 15. Luke 2; 48-49.

I think the wife shall be the happiest woman in the world, perhaps she may have her name written in the Guinness world book of record, if the man of God shall diminish his ministerial commitments for matrimonial attendants, which should not be—But this I say, brethren, the time is short; it remaineth, that both they that have wives be as though they had not. 1 Corinthians 7; 29.

We must love our wives, husbands, children, father and mother, but not above or more than Christ. We must be ready to forsake, (not disown, if they disown us, for Christ love and cause, we are blessed) all and to follow him in view of eternal life.

No more can a father, mother, wife, husband or children of any man or woman enlisted in his or her national army be held down from honoring national call to defend his or her country when duty shall call on him or her to do so.

He or she must forsake all to fulfill his duty—It is impossible that offences will come; but woe unto him, through whom they come! It were better for him that millstones were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones. Luke 17; 1-2.

Likewise, you cannot compromise your relationship and peace with God to satisfy or rejoice the heart of any ungodly demand on you—And she said unto him, how can you say, I love thee, when thine heart is not with me?

Thou hast mocked me these three times, and hast not told me wherein thy great strength lieth.

And it came to pass, when she pressed him daily with her words, and urged him, so that his soul was vexed unto death; that he told her all his heart, and said unto her, there hath not come a razor upon mine head; for I have been a Nazarite unto God from my mother’s womb; if I be shaven, then my strength will go from me, and I shall become weak, and be like other men… . Judges 16; 15-20.

Note, it is impossible and foolish to think you have the answer to every question, solution to every problem, satisfaction to every desire and demand, without considering its adverse effect in your relationship with God.

Consider the patience and longsuffering of God toward sin and sinners.

He will not always chide—Because sentence against evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.

He will always give time to change and space to repent.

And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; (the One that can do all things, the Omnipotent) walk before me and be perfect. Genesis 17; 1.

It took thirteen long years for God to wait and address Abram’s terrible and ungodly error to father a child with the bondwoman, for he was eighty-six years old when Hagar bore Ishmael to Abram—I would hear what God the Lord will speak; for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints; but let them not turn again to folly. Psalms 85; 8. Genesis 16; 16.

You cannot victoriously and successfully walk with God with a deaf ear and blind sight—having eyes, but seeing nothing, and ears, but hearing nothing—And in them is fulfilled the prophesy of Isaiah, which saith, by hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand, and seeing ye shall see and shall not perceive; for this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ear is dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

But blessed are your eyes, for they see, and your ears, for they hear. Matthew 13; 13-16.

May the Lord anoint our eyes with eye salve so that we may see our divine potential; evaluate our spiritual standing and progress, assessment of our celestial report and rate, in our daily walk of the pilgrim journey in Jesus’ name! Examine yourself if you are in the faith!

Our spiritual life is one of a school—The Lord God hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary; he wakened morning by morning, he wakened mine ear to hear as the learned. Isaiah 50; 4.

Our temporary time on earth is for the probation of our worthiness to spend eternity with God, depending on how we live, work for, and walk with Him; either as a good and faithful servant or as a bad and unfaithful servant—And E-nock walked with God; and he was not; for God took him away—By faith, E-nock was translated that he should
