Ian J. Roberts

Ian J. Roberts was saved by the grace of God in 1991 and has been in ministry for the Lord ever since. In that time, he has been involved in church planting, leadership, preaching, teaching, and counseling of the Lord’s people. It is his fervent desire to exalt the Lord Jesus Christ at all times, to see His people encouraged in their walk of faith, and to point the unsaved to the risen Savior, who in His love died for them. Ian lives in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. He is blessed with two daughters in the Lord and the family of God on planet Earth. He is eternally grateful that his name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

    A BRICK IN GOD’S HOUSE

    A LOOK AT THE CROSS

    (Sung to composed tune)

    A look at the cross – It’s God’s divine plan;

    Remedy for sin – Due to fall of one man.

    God spared not His Son – But delivered Him up;

    All those who believe Him – At His table will sup.

    A look at the cross – Our Lord once hung there;

    Despised and rejected – Our sins He did bear.

    Beaten and bruised – Forsaken by His Father;

    Love held Him there – For us He did suffer.

    A look at the cross – We see but a form;

    The figure of a Man – In shame and in scorn.

    In Him was no sin – Yet He paid the price;

    There was no other way – But for Christ’s sacrifice.

    A look at the cross – And what shall we see;

    The sinless Son of God – Offered there for you and me.

    Father, forgive them. – His pleading cry;

    Then bowing His head – For all He did die.

    A look at the cross – It is empty now;

    It ever reminds us – God’s love it does show.

    There is hope for all sinners – In the Man on the cross;

    God’s work is complete – In the blessed Lord Jesus.

    A look at the cross – There we find peace and rest;

    The One who has loved us – In Him we are blest.

    Rejoice then you saints – All else is but dross;

    Glory in your Redeemer – When you look at the cross.

    A look at the cross – And what shall we see;

    The sinless Son of God – Offered there for you and me.

    God loves all us sinners – To the uttermost;

    For He gave to this world – His Son on the cross.

    A VISION FRESH

    (Sung to composed tune)

    Spirit of – the living God,

    Breathe on us – a vision fresh;

    Of Jesus Christ – our Saviour Lord,

    God made Man – in human flesh.
