To my father in the Lord and Spiritual Mentor—Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye who coincidentally has the same name as one of the witnesses and holds the second witness Elijah as a role model-thank you sir for this ministry that have given me guidance close for at least 15years now; who knows were I will have been today.

PROLOGUE

The events that will culminate in the eventual close of this age are on course. Many prophecies have been fulfilled and others are on the verge of being fulfilled.

In 1948, against all odds the State of Israel was birthed-its motto ‘Never Again’. It should be noted that the study of the end-time events span across all the Abrahamic faiths-Christianity, Islam and Judaism. Even some traditional/pagan religions notably; that of the Mayans(an unknown tribe in S/America) has its calendar, which have proven near accurate, terminating in December 21, 2012.

Jesus stated that the generation that will witness the re-gathering of Israel will not pass away before He returns-at the time of Jesus’ prediction Israel had not even be dispersed talk less of being re-gathered; He knew that the dispersal of the Jewish nation was going to be prolonged and that the time of re-gathering of Israel was not known to any man or angel.

However, He enumerated certain signs, Major and Minor. A careful study of these signs can actually give a near accurate prediction of his second advent. The crucial question now is what the definition of a generation is-40, 70, 100 or even 120years? Many think the advent of Jesus will suddenly happen? Will it? I do not think so-it’s not in the character of God to suddenly destroy his creation without prior warning clear enough to be heeded by the repentant-this disposition was displayed in the destruction of the ancient world by deluge—Noah was well informed neither was Sodom and Gomorrah destruction sudden; Abraham was in the know. What of the release of Israel from Babylonian captivity? Daniel understood by the books that at 70th year they will be free. Jacob will have known that his journey into Egypt could end up into captivity for his descendants if they had bothered to check out the prophecy of Abraham.

This book has been written to enlighten the world about a Soon-Coming King which is expected by the followers of the three ‘Abrahamic’ faiths. The end-times studies all proclaim the coming of a World Ruler that will establish peace on Earth—It’s even more revealing when we realize that the Daniel who had the deepest insight in eschatology is accepted as a prophet in all three religions. This book is neither a theological material nor a historical narrative though it can serve both purposes.

Today’s foreign policies are now being unwittingly or even knowingly crafted and framed around religious ideologies-Diplomats will find this book a delight and extremely helpful especially as the major issue in the world today is the imbroglio in the Middle East which problems are solvable by the careful study of the promises of Abraham and the prophecies of Daniel. The narrative is done in a simple manner to encourage as many persons as possible to relate the contemporary international politics to the ultimate plan of God and ensure that as many people as possible are well positioned to receive this great and Soon-Coming King. Approaching the Middle East problem should be with the understanding that it is actually God’s time piece and a deep knowledge base is required to meander through its labyrinth.

This work is not an end to itself but rather a ‘hat thrown into the ring’ to catalyze discourse on this very crucial subject matter using the lenses of historical events and accepted theological truths to handle contemporary international affairs. This book has been written not based on the doctrines of any denomination, sect or religion and does not form the official position of any of these type of groups-its qualifies more as literature on theological diplomacy.

THE SIGNPOSTS

Luke 21:25-33

And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; [26] Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. [27] And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. [28] And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. [29] And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees; [30] When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand. [31] So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand. [32] Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled. [33] Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

STATE OF ISRAEL

Romans 11:11-12

I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy. [12] Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fullness?

The Israelites were children of Jacob who was later renamed Israel. A son of Isaac and grandson of Abraham-who received God promise that all nations will be blessed through him. Abraham was called out from his idolatrous family at the age of Seventy-Five and had the covenant passed down to Jacob through Isaac-the Child of Promise as against his first son—Ishmael; the progenitor of the Arab race-He married an Egyptian where Hagar his mother hailed from. Abraham the Hebrew was descended from Syria-does that ring a bell on the Egypt-Syrian accord that gave rise to United Arab Republic of the 1950s? Israel was promised the land of Palestine by God when they became a nation in Egypt as prophesied to Abraham. The land was then inhabited by the Canaanites whose descendants are the present-day Palestinians.

Israel stayed a total of 430 years-30years more than the prophesied 400years (this shows that a generation could just be 100years-God said four generations)-what happened? Moses the Deliverer was to deliver Israel at his 50th birthday which equals the period of Jubilee but unfortunately he was on exile for a crime he committed 10years earlier-Man can affect the plan of God. They left Egypt by Divine Intervention and proceeded on a tortuous journey in the wilderness that lasted 40years. Israel began to overwhelm the original inhabitants of the land though unable to totally wipe them out.

This period in Palestine can easily be verified by the historical records of both Israel and its Arab neighbors. God has chosen Israel to be its model on Earth but Israel has consistently fallen short of God’s standards and therefore had undergone the judgments of God which included their being defeated in war and dispersed all over the Earth at least two times and in each case they have been re-gathered. Jesus predicted the dispersion of Israel and destruction of Jerusalem about 40years before it happened while Daniel had made the same prophecy 500years before the event occurred. In the parable of the fig tree Jesus categorically stated that the generation that sees the coming together of Israel will not pass away.

God declared 100years a generation when discussing with Abraham during a period the average life span was 170years therefore it can be safely assumed that in an era
