Preface

One divine person, which the present-day Christian may be most unsure of or is confused about, is the Holy Spirit. Many teachings abound about the Holy Spirit by various theological proponents. The Lord has inspired me to write this book to elucidate on the Holy Spirit because the Holy Spirit is the most important divine person needed for the Christian life. In John 4:23–24, Jesus Christ teaching the woman at the well stated categorically and emphatically, But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.

In John 3:3, while teaching Nicodemus, Jesus again commanded, Most assuredly I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God. In verse 5, it says, Most assuredly I say to you, unless one is born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.

God desires true worshippers to worship Him in Spirit and mandates that everyone has to be born again of the Spirit to enter the kingdom of God. Therefore, it is necessary that a Christian must understand all he or she can about the Holy Spirit in order to eliminate confusion. The good news is that the Holy Spirit Himself will lead you into all truth, and it is the will of God to fill you with the Holy Spirit.

In the following pages, the author will endeavor to answer very basic questions about the Holy Spirit, such as, Who is the Holy Spirit?, Where does He come from?, Where does He live?, When He comes, how does He work?, and other important aspects of the Holy Spirit that everyone must know in order to be a well-rounded, rooted, and grounded Christian.

Inspired by the Holy Spirit, the author hopes this book will help and inspire you to the glory of God.

I pray that the Lord Jesus Christ opens your understanding to receive that which is holy, which is the word of God.

Introduction

The author, by the grace of God, is filled and baptized with the Holy Spirit. He is anointed with the gifts to manifest and demonstrate the power of the Holy Spirit in the name of the Lord, Jesus Christ, and to the ultimate glory of God. He appreciates theology and sound doctrine.

However, this book is not a theological treatise, nor is it a doctrinal exposition. This book is intended to free your mind, body, and soul from putting the almighty God in a box of rules and regulations of creeds, dogmas, religions, articles, and statements of faith, affirmations, denominations, organizational sectarianism, and name-brand ministries with all its paraphernalia. God, our Lord, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, time, and recovered truth, knowledge, and understanding have proven to be good and now need to coalesce to inspire the "forward movement" of God’s people with the Holy Spirit movement.

The Holy Spirit has three major purposes:

1.   To foster love in and unite all God’s people in the perfect Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit accomplishes this by producing the fruit of the Spirit in the believer.

2.   To empower believers to fulfill the great commission, which is to make disciples of all nations. This is also accomplished by impartation and activation of the gifts of the Spirit to anoint the believer for evangelism. Acts 1:8 says, But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.

3.   To equip and mature believers for the work, defense and edification of the ministry. The Holy Spirit accomplishes these in three major areas.

(a)   By the fivefold ministry offices. Ephesians 4:11–12: And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors, and teachers for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.

(b)   Regeneration and transformation. Romans 12:2: And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Colossians 3:17: And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

(c)   By causing growth and maturity in the believer in your language, attitude, behavior and character. Colossians 4:6: Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one. Second Corinthians 6:3: We give no offense in anything, that our ministry may not be blamed. Colossians 3:17: And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, Giving thanks to God the Father through Him. Colossians 3:23: And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men. Colossians 3:12–14: Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, long-suffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.

This book is about revealing, teaching, and opening up of your mind, heart, and soul to God’s mighty gift to you, the Holy Spirit of God. It is to help you to leave behind the limitations of frustrating powerless Christianity, holier-than-thou Christianity, and judgmental and condemnatory Christianity, and move you to the higher realm of the Gospel of reconciliation, sanctification, unity of the brethren, and to the overcoming and conquering power level of the supernatural with the unlimited power of the Holy Spirit awaiting every believer of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is to propel you to the higher maturity level of perfect love, which casts out fear.

This book is to help you move away from a stagnant and despairing Christianity to a dynamic full of faith, love, prayer, and Holy Spirit power and a can-do-all-things-through-Christ type of anointed Christianity.

This book will take you to the experiential realm of the Holy Spirit, and when you experience the Holy Spirit, there shall be a spiritual revival in your own soul and life in general. This book will reawaken your zeal and take you back to your first love, when you first believed in the Lord, Jesus Christ.

Do you know what your spiritual gifts are? This book reveals the many spiritual gifts available to every believer. Every Holy Spirit-baptized believer receives one or more gifts from God. This book will help you to know more about your gifts and how to use them.

Spiritus Sanctus will help stir up that Holy Spirit gift in you, stir up your anointing, and stir up your zeal with knowledge to work for the Lord. This book will reveal many other gifts of the Holy Spirit, which the majority of believers have not paid enough attention to, hence, the apparent semblance of weakness and powerlessness in Christianity today.

Why be a lame-duck Christian when the Lord says, You shall receive power after that the Holy Spirit is come upon you … (Act 1:8). You can be endued with power today and rise up and let your power light (you are the light of the world) shine everywhere to every creature in the name of Jesus and to the ultimate glory of God.

Remember, when you are filled with the Holy Spirit, you can boldly say, "Greater is He that is
