About this ebook

"Dr Shane Woods, a young archaeologist, is working on his first independent dig in Central Australia, when he finds among the remains of an ancient camp-fire a large bone upon which is engraved an unusual ritual scene of two figures standing arms outstretched, completely surrounded by a serpent in the shape of a sun-disk. Could this be evidence of a pre-historic belief system? Was this the earliest evidence of the "Dreaming", a time before time itself, when the divine Sky Spirits had created the earth and mankind?

Next he discovers what he considers to be tangible evidence of aboriginal occupation, later dated over 500,000 years. This leads him to challenge the traditional " Out of Africa" hypothesis, with his own controversial viewpoint that modern man's origins are from the Australian Aborigines, who were a distinctly different species of Homo Sapiens, that had migrated along "Sacred Path's" during the Pleistocene period, coming "Out of Australia", across land bridges which had connected the supercontinent of Sahuland, consisting of Tasmania,Australia,New Guinea and the thousands of islands that are now part of the Indonesian and Philippine island chains.

The enormity of his finds, make him realize that he needs a prestigious senior person to help him to confirm the authenticity of his discoveries,so he calls upon his old friend Dick Goldman, a Professor of Archaeology from UCLA. It is with his arrival to the Northern Territory, that this adventure into man's deepest past, begins its most unusual journey.

This book traces the twists and turns of this journey, the near arrest of the archaeologists by the CIA and US military, for tresspassing on US controlled land in the heart of Aboriginal Australia, and the dismissal these highly controversial explanations and radical new views on the origins of modern man."

    Dreamtime Explained—

    The First Light

This country has always belonged to us, since the time of the First Light when the Mythic Beings came from the underworld and created all plants, animals and people, all were linked to the beings of Dreamtime. They shaped the earth, and left behind the humans, laws and guidelines for all to live by. Then they became the life force always present in all the landscape.

    INTRODUCTION

The Australian Aborigines believe that in the beginning, Earth was formless and cold, and in the Dreaming before time itself, the divine Sky Spirits performed an Almighty Act of Creation, when they surfaced from below the ground and created all the landforms and all of the species that now dwell upon earth.

They believe that the Sky Spirits have never left the earth of Australia, and continue to be present, residing in nature, as powerful spiritual entities, such as the Wandjinas and Ungud, both of whom originated from water, and to whom everything belongs.

To the Aboriginals, history is fully preserved in oral traditions and myths. It is in the Dreamtime that the Creation Myth is proposed, as being the seed from which sprouted many of prehistoric man’s stories of the origins of the human species.

It is the finding of an engraved bone pendant, probably a kangaroo’s fibula, on which is depicted a ritual scene of two human figures standing arms outstretched, completely encircled by a sun disc-shaped serpent, it is this engraved scene which allows Dr Shane Wood to put forward a unique hypothesis, presenting a completely different and somewhat radical new conception of prehistoric man’s very earliest belief systems. He also directly challenges the traditional view that the peopling of Australia came about as a result of numerous waves of migration from Africa, through Asia into Australia. He is instead convinced that it is the Australian Aborigines who have always inhabited Sahuland, the supercontinent of an expanded Australia, that it is they who originally migrated, Out of Australia, to Asia either by way of New Guinea and the Philippines or via the Indonesian island chains. Both the prehistoric worshiping hypothesis, that envisages Australian aborigines having their own one creator spirit, NGADJAIA, possibly some 500,000 years before mankind’s first recorded historical monotheist, the Egyptian sun-worshipping pharaoh Akhenaton or the Out of Australia hypothesis, which sees Australian aborigines as the first true Homo sapiens, migrating northwards, along sacred pathways, during periods of very low sea levels, and numerous land bridges connecting the island chains.

The Australian archaeologist, Shane Wood realizes the sheer enormity of his two controversial hypothesis, and is in a quandary, as to whether he should release details of his amazing find to the world, or to call upon his old professor of archaeology from a prestigious American university, to help confirm the authenticity of his find, which directly challenges Judaism’s great claim of being God’s chosen people, and practising the world’s first faith to worship only the one creator entity. His final decision to call in the famous American archaeologist Professor Dick Goldman, to learn more about this new find, sparks off a whispering campaign among the world’s archaeological establishment that something Big and highly controversial has been discovered in northern Australia.

There is an added complication; the site of the dig is in full view of Australia’s most secret telecommunications establishment Pine Gap, a United States military base, which has already indicated to Shane, that he must not camp anywhere near the outer perimeter of the base, or risk being arrested by military police.

This book covers the history of this significant find, all attempts to greatly downplay its importance, as a revolutionary new insight, to be seen as a bright new light explaining how the earliest Australian aboriginals, had in fact evolved in splendid isolation, always as a distinctly separate species of Homo sapiens, not interacting at all with their cousins in Africa, who were living across the waters thousands of miles away. Only later, when the sea levels
