      Dedication

      Itake great pleasure in dedicating this book to my children and my Loved Ones. They made me realize how precious life is and to cherish and take joy in the moments that we share together. Life is a gift from God and one never knows when it will end, which is why we must live righteously and live each day as if it’s our last.

      My family is my joy and whatever hardships that we have endured throughout the years made us stronger. It taught us the power of love and forgiveness; while allowing us to gain knowledge and understanding. Prayers and faith in God are one of the pillars that our family is built on.

      Thank You God for blessing me with a wonderful family and I thank all of you so much for your encouragement, your prayers, and your support, that you have given me over the years. I also want to let my children’s mom know that you are loved and appreciated; thanks for the children and also for keeping love and stability in the home and in our lives.

      Throughout my many struggles and the dark times of my life, with your help and prayers, the Lord shined His healing rays on my life; brightened it up, and turned it around.

      Introduction

      Everyone wants the best life has to offer. How we get it will depend on the path that we choose to take. That path will determine the outcome of our life.

      Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it (Matthew 7:13-14).

      Perhaps you have spent some time sitting in darkness; and maybe you are familiar with gloom. Perhaps you are thinking that your life is almost over and your plans are destroyed. You probably did not plan for your life to end up the way it is now.

      Maybe you doubt it is worth making any new plans for the future. Maybe you have given up all hope—for you, for your life, for anything. God can help you break out of your deepest misery.

      We all have the power to change and the power to overcome all of our trials, our tribulations, and the negative influences in our life; no matter what anyone tells you or society leads you to believe. We have the power the defeat Satan and all evil. You just need to know how to tap into that power and how to use it.

      That power comes through Jesus, through prayer, through the Word of God and faith in God; and with a strong prayer life. Without God we are defeated. The Holy Spirit also gives strength and power to your prayer.

      Prayer must be a part of your daily life and you must forgive others or else your prayers will be hindered and won’t be answered. In the Bible when Jesus taught the disciples how to pray and it included forgiveness. Matthew 6: 11-12. "Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us."

      Forgiveness is very hard for many of us to deal with but we must do it and soften our hearts and mind towards others which will enable us to forgive them while we give our burdens over to God and have Him deal with it.

      Pray and ask God to help you with forgiveness if you are struggling with it and be true to God about your feeling because He knows anyway.

      Our moods can be extremely deceptive. It can trick you into believing your life is far worse than it really is. When you are in a good mood life is good and things don’t feel so bad. When in a bad mood life looks unbearably serious and difficult.

      Many of us wait until the time of peril to reflect back. Many of us often wish that we had spent more time with the people we truly loved and done more with them. In times of peril allows you to look back at your life while you still have the opportunity to make some important changes and make amends where possible.

      If you have this book in your hand, then most likely you are going through some difficult times in your life right now and you need a positive change in and around your life and in your relationships with others. Open up your heart and mind to God, and through prayers He will help guide and enable you to overcome those hardships that surrounds your life now.

      I remember when my grade five teacher Mr. McCarthy, was talking to us about people who did not believe in God and prayers. He said, ‘you will find that at some point in everybody’s life they all say a prayer at some point or another.’

      He used the example of a plane that was filled with unbelievers which was about to crash. He said, ‘once they realized that the plane was going to crash, and their life could end; the first thing that came out of their mouth was O my God! Help us! and that’s a prayer.’ Most people will call out for God’s help in times of need or peril. Everybody prays.

      The Bible tells us and makes extraordinary claims about the power of prayers and how it can heal all of our hurts and ailments. Jesus said, "I am telling you the truth: those who believe in me will do what I do. Yes, they will do even greater things, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask for in My name, so that the Father’s glory will be shown through the Son. If you ask Me for anything in My name, I will do it" (John 14:12-14; GNT).

      When we hurt and our bodies and minds are racked by heartache and pain, God can make a difference. Where lives and attitudes have gone wrong, a
