    ENDORSEMENTS

This book entitled ‘It’s All About Relationship’ is a brave attempt at addressing an issue on a subject that I usually read by female authors. This book is an ‘easy read’ which looks at a range of practical matters and activities that are fully endorsed by the Word of God. I pray that readers will read with interest and attempt to put into practice the knowledge and understanding attained from this God inspired project that Dominic has written and his beautiful wife Amanda is a beneficiary. So too are his family and many friends of whom I count myself one, offered the benefit of being inspired to read and practice the wisdom on each page.

    INTRODUCTION

Throughout my first book: It’s All About Relationship: Part One: How God Intended Things To Be, we have been on a journey of discovery. We have seen a personal God, who loved mankind beyond measure and discovered how God intended things to be. Further still, we have discovered a God that is good, kind and loving, that created all things for the purpose of relationship. The picture of things in the beginning was so beautiful and God was right in the middle of it all, with man.

We have seen the wonderful relationships and connections that God ordained between Himself and man; with man and woman; with mankind and the earth and animals. Everything was connected through a God ordained relationship that would last forever and as God said, ‘It was very good’.

Yet sadly, this wonderful picture of such love, beauty and intimate relationship did not last. The inevitable day came, in which mankind would be faced with a choice that would maintain this wonderful picture or change it for thousands of years to come.

The day came for mankind to make a choice and to be confronted by the being called Satan, who came in the form of the serpent. God had done everything that He could to prepare man for this confrontation. He had provided his Ezer Kenegdo (Help Opposite); his covering, protection and spiritual overseer and also commanded man not to eat from the ‘tree of the knowledge of good and evil’ and warned him of the consequences of eating from this tree.

In addition, God created a beautiful Garden, in which man would want for nothing. Now it was up to man to listen and maintain his obedience to God and do the right thing or listen to the serpent and pay the price. Sadly, Adam listened to the wrong person and we have been experiencing the effects of his decision ever since.

What did God do about what happened? Did He give up on Adam and therefore, mankind? No, God set a plan in place to redeem Adam and Mankind and more importantly, to redeem that which became broken and lost?

As we continue on this journey of discovery, we will discover a God that went to extreme lengths for love and relationship and as we look at the price that God had to pay, in order to restore that which became broken and lost, we will see the greatest love story ever known to man.

It started with unhindered relationship in the Garden of Eden between God, Adam and Eve and by God’s plan of redemption, it will end with unhindered relationship with God, me and you.

I would like us to continue on our journey of discovery; one that will help you come to know the heart of God; the extent of His love; God’s love for relationship and of course His love for you.

Through this second book, you will complete the journey and discover the Greatest relationship founded on the Greatest love and the extent that this Greatest love went to for a relationship with you and me.

Our journey together will be one, in which you will discover, ‘It’s all about Relationship’.

    CHAPTER 1

    THE FIRST EVER BROKEN RELATIONSHIP

Most people if asked; what was the first broken relationship, would probably say Mankind and God. Well, this is not the case. The first ever broken relationship was between an angel called Lucifer and God. People forget or don’t know or don’t realise that Satan, who was originally called Lucifer had a relationship with his Creator God.

Before relationships were established on the earth, there were relationships established in Heaven. God had created millions, even billions of angels, of which God would have had a relationship with. As one of the first ever angels, God’s relationship with Lucifer may have been one of the first ever known relationships.

However, it was what happened to this relationship that would have a profound impact on the relationship God would later have with His creation called man.

It is really important that we take a look at the first ever broken relationship between Lucifer and God; why and how it became broken and how the fallout from this broken relationship would have a devastating impact upon mankind’s relationship with God.

    So Who Is Lucifer?

So who was Lucifer? And where did he come from? These are two very important questions that we need to answer in order to gain an understanding of who this being is and why he is seen in such a negative light.

Lucifer was originally created an angelic being, who had a name that represented who he was: light-bearer, shining one, or morning star. We can find his name written in Isaiah 14: 12 (KJV), ‘How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!’ His name was originally a proud statement of who he was. It reflected the nature of his being and the position that he held in heaven. His nature was one of light and he was known as the covering cherub, because the glory of God would shine through him, as he stretched out his magnificent wings over the throne of God and bathed God’s throne in light and glory. Lucifer was second only to God. He was perfect. Let’s take a look at a description of Lucifer in Ezekiel 28: 12-15, which says,

Thus says the Lord God: You are the full measure and pattern of exactness [giving the finishing touch to all that constitutes completeness], full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. ¹³ You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering, the carnelian, topaz, jasper, chrysolite, beryl, onyx, sapphire, carbuncle, and emerald; and your settings and your sockets and engravings were wrought in gold. On the day that you were created they were prepared. ¹⁴ You were the anointed cherub that covers with overshadowing [wings], and I set you so. You were upon the holy mountain of God; you walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire [like the paved work of gleaming sapphire stone upon which the God of Israel walked on Mount Sinai]. ¹⁵ You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created until iniquity and guilt were found in you.

As you can see, Lucifer in his original form was magnificent. God was so proud of him and all he represented. He was created to be full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. This angel was flawless and handsome beyond human comprehension, and in fact, if he was to be seen today he would not be a red-skinned, two-horned, fork-tailed man; he still would be an extremely handsome person, but sadly a foreshadow of what he once was. Lucifer was covered in all kinds of precious stones and gold workmanship. He was spectacular.

The above scripture identifies Lucifer as ‘the anointed cherub’. The word anointed (Hebrew word: mashach; pronounced mim-shakh) means to smear, anoint, spread a liquid, and consecrate. Biblically, anointing is always done with oil and is done to consecrate for service. A person is consecrated by having oil poured over their head, which signifies being covered by God’s presence or having the covering of God’s Holy Spirit.

Lucifer was a carrier of God’s presence and he was consecrated to cover the throne of God. The title of ‘the anointed cherub’ is never used of any other angel. Therefore, Lucifer was unique in his call and his kind. There was no other angel like him. Furthermore, he may have been the first of his kind, meaning he may have been the very first angel created by God.

Lucifer’s very being is a musical instrument which would suggest to me that he has an active interest in music and the music industry

Further still, Lucifer is not like mankind, made of flesh and blood, but he is a spirit. The Bible says in Psalm 104: 4 (KJV), ‘Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire’. Therefore, all angels are spiritual beings that are not limited to the restraints of our physical world, time, and mankind’s human anatomy. In fact the make-up of Lucifer’s being would stretch our understanding and imagination. Why? Lucifer’s being included a workmanship of tabrets and pipes. In other words, Lucifer was a walking musical instrument. We can see this in Ezekiel 28: 13 (KJV), which says,

The workmanship of thy tabrets [timbrel or tambourine] and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.

The above scripture could suggest that Lucifer was possibly created to be head of worship in heaven, as he was one of the highest angels. Therefore, for Lucifer’s being to be created to incorporate a musical instrument suggests purpose by design. In light of this, it would make perfect sense for Lucifer to be the head of worship.

Furthermore, Lucifer’s involvement in worship in heaven, would suggest he has an active interest in music and the music industry on earth. He above all people would know the impact that music has on people mentally (on their soul: mind, will, and emotions), physically, and spiritually. What better way to have an impact on mankind than in an area that he knows all too well?

As stated before, Lucifer was created to be a magnificent angel of great beauty and splendour. Yet, sadly this was not to last. Something significant happened; he became consumed by pride.

The Fall of Lucifer and the First Broken Relationship

The position and estate held by this wonderfully created angelic being called Lucifer was not enough for him. I am left speechless, when I look at what Lucifer was created to be and what he became. Let’s take a closer look at the fall of Lucifer in Ezekiel 28: 15–18.

You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created until iniquity and guilt were found in you’. ¹⁶ Through the abundance of your commerce you were filled with lawlessness and violence, and you sinned; therefore I cast you out as a profane thing from the mountain of God and the guardian cherub drove you out from the midst of the stones of fire. ¹⁷ Your heart was proud and lifted up because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor. I cast you to the ground… ¹⁸ you have profaned your sanctuaries by the multitude of your iniquities and the enormity of your guilt . . .

Lucifer became overtaken with pride because of his beauty and the wisdom that he had, became corrupted by his magnificence. His pride of heart corrupted him to the level that this majestic cherub that covered the throne of God became full of violence, sin, iniquity, and corruption.

I would like to take some time to look deeper into the changes that took place in Lucifer. This does mean that we will need to look at individual words in the Hebrew to get a greater sense of what was going on. Therefore, what follows will get a little heavy, but continue reading because gaining a deeper understanding of what took place will help us when it comes to understanding what Satan did and why he did it, when we look at what took place in the Garden of Eden. The change in the characteristics of Lucifer are as follows:

Lucifer Becomes Evil, Wicked, Perverse and Full of Violence: The first word we need to look at is the word iniquity (Hebrew word evel, pronounced eh-vel), which means wrongdoing, violent deeds of injustice, evil, perverseness, unrighteousness, wickedness and full of violence. The first change in Lucifer’s character and nature was that he who was once the shining one became evil, wicked, and perverse. We see that he became the very opposite to what he once was.

Yet, further still, Lucifer’s transformation became darker. He became full of violence. When we hear of violence, we automatically think of physical violence but what we are about to see is the violence that is talked about here is far more sinister and evil in nature. The word violence used in the above scripture (Hebrew word chamas, pronounced khaw-mawce) means violence, cruelty, injustice, damage, falseness, oppression, physical wrong, making bare, and violating.

I have highlighted some key words to understanding the type of violence that Lucifer became filled with. When being violent, Lucifer sought to go beyond the physical aspects of violence and aimed to damage the person physically, mentally, emotionally, and if possible spiritually by being cruel, oppressing, violating, and making the person bare, which suggests humiliation. These are the characteristics of domestic violence, rape, abuse, torture, and all types of humiliation. These types of acts are birthed from the very nature and characteristics of Lucifer, who is Satan.

My personal belief is that when acts of domestic violence, rape, abuse, torture, and all types of humiliating acts are done, the persons doing them align themselves with the very nature and characteristics of the originator: Satan. In other words, the violent person opens themselves up for Satan to work through them, to perform what he has now become full of: violence. This links into another aspect of Lucifer’s nature and traits: sin.

When we understand the meaning of the word sin, then we can understand one of the key elements of his character. The word sin (Hebrew word chata, pronounced khaw-taw) means properly, to miss, lead astray, condemn, bear the blame, harm, lose, offend, and trespass. What we can gather here is that Lucifer took on the characteristics of sin and one of the key elements of sin is to lead astray.

one of the key elements of sin, is to lead astray.

As with a person who undertakes violent acts, who takes on the nature of the original violator, the aim of Lucifer was to lead others astray or lead them into sin. As we can see, sin’s aim is to harm, to cause a person to lose, to offend, and to leave a person with the condemnation and guilt of their actions. We know that Lucifer became extremely masterful at leading others astray because he led astray one-third of the angels of God (Revelation 12: 3-4 and 9-10) and he would also do the same to Adam and Eve, in addition to mankind. Lucifer became the master of sin and would lead others in what he was master of.

Lucifer Becomes Corrupt and A Profane Thing: In order for him to lead others astray into sin, they would need to become corrupted as he became corrupt. We need to take a moment to really capture hold of what the word corrupt means, because the characteristics of this word are what was used against mankind after the fall of Adam and Eve in the garden.

The scripture in Ezekiel 28: 15 - 18 says that Lucifer became corrupt and profaned himself and his sanctuaries. The word corrupt used in the above scripture (Hebrew word
