    Hear Me Roar

    This book is dedicated to:

First to Almighty God who blessed me with the ability to write, and be used by Him.

To my Mother, and Best Friend, Emma Idell Dunn Russ, who introduced me to God, taught me how to love, and believed in me, always there to support, and encourage me, wish you were here to see the publication of my first book, you wanted it as much as I did, I can almost see you jumping up and down, and clapping your hands. I know I will see you again one day, but I really, really miss you, and I love you.

To Bea, a very special aunt, we never made it to pick up my poetry award, just as well, neither one of us were gonna get on that plane, in my mind, I can see the table full of all the food you would have cooked to celebrate the publication of this book, missing you a lot. You, sisters are all together again.

To Mrs. Nell M. Byars, not many people can touch my heart the way you have, I thought only mama could do that, but you have been there for me through what was one of the hardest things a person can face, the passing of a wonderful friend/mother, your belief in me, and my writing.

To my son Dewayne T. Holmes, As my first born, you became the teacher, and you taught me well, not only were you my teacher, but Daniel’s as well, many thanks, and love to my once little man, all grown up now, you did well.

To my son Daniel J. Holmes, you were the one with all the questions, knew the answers before you asked, always test me, always ready to learn, my thanks and love to my once little man number two, all grown up, and still asking questions.

To my grandsons Dewayne (DJ), Damian(Dada), D’Andrea(DA), MoMo Love You Guys, God protect, and cover you with His Blood, always is my prayer.

To Mr. Terry G. Byars, you don’t know it, but it was you who inspired me to write, years ago, you gave mama a book you co-wrote (The Music Unheard), she showed it to me, and I still have it.

To Play Mama, Mattie Wesley, God did it again, put another godly woman in my life, you always have up lifting word of wisdom for me, always encouraging me to stay a sweet little girl, because it will carry me a long way in life, and yes I remember the bat.

To my pastor, Lee T. Wesley, Sr. you were there to answer all those questions followed by I still don’t get it, and why(like a two year old going through the why stage), You said I could do it.

This book was years in the making, and to say thanks to everybody who made an impact in my life would be a book in itself, so last but not least, to the rest of my family, friends, and my church family
