      PREFACE

      A thorn is a sharp pointed growth on the stem of a plant. Like the thorn on the rose that scratch ones hand when you want to pluck the rose.

      Roses are beautiful, in red, pink alike. We all like beautiful rose flowers. That’s what we are in Gods garden.

      The Devil is not at peace to see you blossom. When you blossom as a child of God, you develop a healthy, promising way of life.

      This book tells you that thorns are always with us. They are necessary evil we have to live with. It teaches us how to manage them in life.

      Thorns are necessary in life, and with out thorns you can not have testimonies.

      On the whole, the book is a sixteen chapter text.

      The book is spiritually and morally educative hence you need the book for your spiritual growth and journey to heavenly eternity.

      CHAPTER 1

      INTRODUCTION

      WHAT IS A THORN

      A thorn is a sharp pointed growth on the stem of a plant. It grows with the plant and remains on the stem. It makes the stem rough and has no area where one can hold it freely without being injured.

      Rose flower plant is an example of a stem that has thorns. It is beautiful. Many people see it and admire it. They touch it or even want to pluck it for keeps. The thorns on the stem make it difficult to pluck the rose flower. Therefore, one need to be careful to avoid being hurt by the thorns.

      Human beings have thorns too that grow with us like that of a plant. They may be noticed from childhood, but may not be regarded as hindrance, since it has been part of the child as he or she grows up. At times it can be out grown, in life. There are some that come up at adult stage in life

      A thorn is a snare, trap, cage and it hinders one. It prevents progress, cause delay, obstacles, in life. It can be in form of sickness, decease, an illness inherited from family or contacted. It can also be an affliction on you from the spirit world.

      In all, majority are curable either medically or otherwise. Those that are curable might be cured living a scar. Some are managed, that is one can live with it so long as it can not be a hindrance or harmful.

      Thorns are always in ones life at every stage in life. If they are forcefully removed, it can kill. That is to say behind any beautiful rose there are thorns. If you want to take away the thorns the rose can be destroyed. If the rose is destroyed what then will you admire? We just have to manage the thorns of life.

      There are some delays and hindrances you experience too, occasionally during your job and project executions. It might be in supplies of materials paid for, break down of vehicle, none payment of certain some of money, to facilitate the project execution.

      Also in adequate staff position, ill health or death of a key personnel in a team of project management, are experienced daily. All of these happen, though they can be solved but it is not immediately as they occur.

      DIFFERENT TYPES OF THORN

      Thorns are those things that hinder you from achieving your goals. They are those things you need to settle before you can move forward as you progress in life. They are those things you need to do first before you get on to the next agenda on the line of program. They can not be over looked. They are always there to make you gain experience in life and also have a testimony.

      Ps 34:19     says many are the afflictions of the righteous:

      but the lord delivereth him out of them all.

      Psalm 91:3a     says Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler.

      As a human being you need to be born into this world before anything counts.

      To everything there is a season and a time for every purpose under the heavens. A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to pluck up that which is planted. Ecc3:1-2.

      When you are born into this world every day there is a little growth added to your life, and experience. A child must experience how to suck the mother’s nipple and the baby feeder. If not, growth can not take place. No one can grow or remain a life with out taking in anything. There are children doctors battle with to feed through the nostrils because they can not suck on there own. It is a thorn, a snare for a child at that age not to suck.

      Growth is a must. Anything that will hinder normal growth is abnormal. Any thing abnormal is a thorn. In life there are things you must do at a particular age. Growth is on all sides of life. It starts with additional days to your life and experience. Life is all about growth, increase in knowledge and development.

      As a child grows up, at age 3 he/she starts a nursery school.
