    I wrote several poems in my early twenties. Many years later, I began to write several poems a week. I was inspired by my lovely wife, whom I married in 2010 following a four-year long-distance love affair. These poems are for and about her.

    Raymond Peter Stone is a radio and television personality, actor, author, poet, and lover of life. Born in South Porcupine, Ontario, Canada, he was raised and educated in Windsor, Ontario. Following a twelve-year career as a public relations major in the RCAF, he was an on-air radio and TV staff announcer with the CBC in Toronto. Ottawa called, and he began a seventeen-year adventure as a public relations officer with the federal government. Retirement led him to try acting, and he has appeared in thirty films. He also began a new career as radio host of a popular program entitled Experts on Call with 580 CFRA in Ottawa, Canada. Poetry has always been a part of his life, and his limericks and rhymes play a significant role in his relationships with friends and family. He is also a published cartoonist and dabbles in other art forms.

      Her eyes reveal a soul so strong and free.

      Her heart is filled with love that cannot be.

      Each gesture echoes elegance and grace …

      And angels long to kiss her lovely face.

      My heart is filled with longing for her touch.

      I never knew I’d love someone so much.

      Her sweet caress, her lips like warm, red wine…

      My life would be complete if she were mine.

      I love her gentle smile, her graceful, loving style,

      But in a little while we’ll say goodbye.

      Someday we’ll meet again, but who knows where or when?

      My heart will ache ‘til then … my soul will sigh.

      She’s my shining angel… and I love her so.
