"Those who honor Me

I will honor."

This book is dedicated to

St. John Gabriel Perboyre

(1802-1840)

a Vincentian missionary priest

that was brutally tortured and martyred

for his faith in China

on September 11, 1840.

He quietly suffered a most cruel martyrdom.

He was beaten and scourged twenty times,

Yet he refused to stomp on a crucifix.

His face was branded with the words,

Teacher of False Religions

And he was condemned

To be strangled on a cross.

Although little is remembered of his life,

Jesus wants his name

to be known and honored

for his great life sacrifice.

Divine Savior, transform me into Yourself.

May my feet be your feet.

May my hands be your hands.

May my eyes be Your eyes.

May my ears be Your ears.

May my mouth be Your mouth.

May my mind think Your thoughts.

May my perspective be Your heavenly

perspective.

Grant that every faculty of my body may

serve only to glorify you.

Above all, transform my soul and all its

powers that my memory, my will, and my

affections may be the memory, the will, and

the affections of You.

I beg You to destroy everything in me that is

not of You.

I pray that I may live in complete union with

you so that I may say with St. Paul,

I live, but not I; Christ lives in me.

"I transcend every thought a human could think. I surpass every boundary, all impossibilities, and all horizons. Those that come to know Me become wise beyond any limited earthly understanding. To know the heart and mind of a God is to become a genius in life. Earthly geniuses know facts and figures. Spiritual geniuses know the secrets of the universe.

I have told you many times: Things are not what they seem. All earthly things are a veil to the reality of the spiritual realm. In Scripture I stated that man has eyes, but he does not see; he has ears but he does not hear. His senses are of the earth. His eyes have not been opened to spiritual realities.

Look beyond what you see physically with your eyes, what you hear with your ears. Seek to spend time alone in My presence to transcend your shallow earthly thinking. Eternity is not understood to earth seekers. The wise man has eyes in his head – spiritual eyes to see the glorious angels that surround him daily, the eternal land of glorious bliss awaiting My chosen children, the power of the cross, the humble recognition of man’s nothingness, the meaninglessness of transitory pleasures.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Seek the wisdom of God and a new world will open up to you. You will receive power from on high and the Holy Ghost will overshadow you to bring forth the Son of God in your person. You will be transformed into His image and all things will be yours.

This is the dignity of the children of God."

"A meaningful existence apart from God is impossible, for by Him all things consist. The secret to joy in life is to discover God. He is truly a fountain of living water. You can pitch your tent next to this eternal fountain and rejoice every day for the rest of your life.

God is the joy of life. Without God, no real joy is possible. Joy springs up like an eternal fountain in your heart when you allow God to reign there.

What is the secret to lasting joy? Love God and serve Him with a faithful heart. He will smooth out the road before you. He will create marvelous and beautiful works in you. You will be fulfilled and animated by a wonder you did not know was possible in this life.

Why live trudging through the mud of earth when you can soar in the heavens with God? That is why He created you – to enjoy Him eternally. All He asks for is your heart. He will do all the rest.

Come to God with your heart in your hands. Pledge your fidelity to Him in sincerity. He will receive your gift with a Father’s love and the graces will start falling immediately upon your head. He is a generous Father only waiting eagerly to bless His children.

Every day is Christmas morning to God. Let Him shower you with His gifts from heaven - peace, joy, love, truth, serenity, integrity, contentment, and fulfillment. And then wait to see what he has in store for your life.

You will be amazed."

"The days seem shorter and shorter as you age. You are getting close to the gates of the world where there is no time. Past those gates is eternal rest – no more hurry, no more rushing, no more impatience, no more stress to finish things. It is the land of perfect peace and rest.

I desire My children to begin to cultivate this restful state now while on earth. Step back from the bustle of life to consider what is really valuable in your day. So many people are like rats on the constantly rotating wheel, running continuously round and round and never getting anywhere. They mindlessly go through their day, never savoring the gift of life, never slowing down to look at God.

Things are not what they seem. God desires that you live as carefree as a child. He wants to take responsibility for all in your life. He asks you to quiet yourself like a weaned child, to accept His hand of fatherly goodness, and to live your day as He desires you to live it.

God is the eternally patient One, gently gliding through your life, forever guiding, patching, fixing, surprising, and loving. He has a beautiful plan just for you alone, a life no one else will ever live. He desires to make you fruitful in every area of your life. His ways are loving peacefulness and confident rest.

Make this day a beautiful day by walking it with your loving Father, God. Let Him teach you how to slow down, how to live on heaven’s time, how to savor each loving encounter with Him. Put your lists away just for a day and let Him lead you beside the refreshing waters of His beautiful good pleasure.

Walk with God today. It will be a most beautiful day!"

"Each day brings new challenges to face. No day is perfect. It is for you to be prepared to meet these challenges before they occur, and not to be taken by surprise.

This is done by directing your very first thoughts to Me in the morning. Secure the eternal position in your mind before your feet touch the floor.

Remember that all passes so quickly. Life will be over so quickly. Your day of death will come and you will have a report card of your life to review. You will look back at all the situations you could have faced differently, handled differently. You will see then that love is the answer to every challenge. You will be judged on your love alone.

Embrace love this day. Make love your true friend and traveling companion. Love brightens every situation. Love placates and heals. Love is attractive and joyous. Love uplifts and forgives. Love makes your way merry and light and, oh, so peaceful.

Learn to love in every situation. When faced with your daily challenges, say, How can I love in this situation? What act would be the most loving?

Ask My Father to pour out His Holy Spirit of Love in an abundant downpour upon your life. This is all you need to glorify God and to live a godly life with no regrets.

Love is truly the answer. Cultivate this diamond hidden under the surface of every encounter in your life."

"Things in life are not what they seem. If only man would stop and assess his situation. He is so fragile, so feeble, so frail, a piece of dust in the cosmos. His breath can be taken away at any moment.

His body is a complex living organism of My creation. One part could dysfunction at any given moment. The mind could falter. The body could discontinue all operations. What, then, is left to man? His soul. Man’s soul is his treasure. I have given man the body just as a vehicle to house the soul. It is My gift to man to let him thrive on My earth.

Man in his supreme blindness has elevated the body above all things. He has used the bodily functions as a lever to become famous, powerful, beautiful, and adored. He doesn’t realize that every day his fragile body is decaying and what was once strong and beautiful will become weak, deficient and old. Then what?

The soul tags along, completely neglected, misunderstood, and ignored. The body reigns supreme in all the decisions of life. The soul is not heard or taken into account. The soul is that nagging conscience that God has so mercifully placed into man’s heart to lead him to heaven.

Satan uses noise to obliterate the soul’s voice. People negate the soul’s yearnings for truth. The soul is silenced and muffled in the children by toys, television and constant activity. The souls of children are never recognized; therefore, they grow up to be soulless adults, men and women of no conscience.

Silence cultivates the soul’s release. God opens up the soul to pour His wisdom lavishly into it, if only He is allowed to speak freely in the silence.

O soulless men of earth, when will you become silent before Me that I may restore your soul to its original beauty?"

Love’s Call

"To the devout, I will show Myself attentive. To those who seek Me, I will be found. To those who give Me all of themselves, I give all of Myself.

To those who ignore Me, I hide My face. To those who treat Me with disrespect, I turn My back.

I am found by those who seek Me with all their hearts. I am cherished by those who love Me with all their hearts.

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. These are true words. Try them and see. I will be found by you when you search for Me and seek Me with all your heart. I will give Myself wholly to you when you give yourself wholly to Me.

I am a gentle and loving God, kind and compassionate to all who call upon Me. Seek Me in the silence. Seek me in holiness. Seek Me with a pure heart.

I will come to you. I will reveal Myself to you. Do not expect signs and wonders.

Be faithful in the little duties of life. This is what I expect of you. Seek Me in your daily occurrences.

I am a God of holiness. Be holy as I am holy and I will receive you."

The Sacred Father of the Human Race

"Listen to the silence. It will speak to you. Things are not as they seem. Man does not understand God. The Holy Spirit reveals the Father’s heart to His children.

God is quiet. He is the great thoughtful One. God is love. His love is His being. God is serenity, a moving cloud of refreshment over all the earth. God is just, hating evil. God is eternal, no beginning and no end. God is the source of all. God animates all that is.

See God’s perfection in the animals, each one uniquely created. God’s love breaks forth in joyful praise in the touch of a puppy, the glory of an ostrich, the beauty of a peacock, the flight of a bird. He animates their every move. He is their life breath.

Since all that exists is mystery and profound creativity, how could you ever expect words to explain My existence? Faith in Me is given to the understanding heart, a soul that realizes that he is created from the dust of the earth. This is the heart of a child, complete abandonment and confidence surrounded by this vast and unexplored universe. He accepts. He believes. He plays in God’s world without expecting answers to theological questions. He has faith in his Father’s love for him and he trusts this gentle Creator of such unlimited beauty.

Childhood is sacred. It is a holy trust given to the pure in heart. It is that blind joyful confidence that charms God’s heart.

God moves among His children like a gentle shepherd enjoying his flock. The most child-like gather near Him to delight in His company. Their bright faces and open arms cause Him to say: All is well.

God loves His children. Dance joyfully in the thought that you are loved by such a Father!"

God’s Beloved Child

"Your life is made up of many little things. Each second is an opportunity to offer Me a second of love, a second of appreciation, a second of joyous thanksgiving, a second of worship. These seconds of life pass so quickly.

As you unite yourself to My will in each second of your day, I form a lifetime of sanctity. These little seconds of obedient love form saints. A saint is a soul dedicated to the glory of God. A saint is a soul in love with God. A saint talks to God, listens to God, and understands His divine tenderness and compassion. A saint is a masterpiece of God’s glory.

Heaven is full of saints, holy souls adoring God’s glory. They have triumphed through the vicissitudes of life. They have passed the threshold from earth’s time into eternity. They have finished their course faithfully, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of their faith.

The more you love God, the quicker you will become a saint, a soul filled with God’s holiness.

This love will cost you something. It will be sacrificial, yet the reward is glorious and eternal. God will beautify your soul, preparing it for the eternal realm of glory, where all is light. Even on earth, His glory will shine forth in you. You will be a glowing vessel of clay.

The more you are broken, the more My light shines through the cracks. When you are ground up by the wounds of life, you will truly manifest My glory, for he that loseth his life in this world shall find it unto life eternal.

Go forward in your hiddenness, that your humility may open the way for Me to descend into your littleness. I only display My glory through the little ones."

"As you lift your eyes to Me in the heavens, I see this bodily gesture of loving compliance and I gently raise you to Myself. It is in the charming trustfulness of a child’s heart that I find My joy.

The world has grown into adulthood. They have forgotten the purity and charm of childhood where a special awe and wonder makes each day new. There is no monotony in My world. When I give you My eyes, you see a myriad of wonders. Contemplating a spider’s web with the eyes of a child, lingering outside, fascinated by a lizard, feeling the bare grass, My great gift to man, under your feet, laying on your back
